Client: Touring Club Italiano / touringclub.it

Role: Concept / Graphic Design / Printing
Summary: This is a collaborative project about the design and print of a particular Touring Guide book.
The guide book focuses on the center of Milan and is designed in such way so that it offers a range of options to its readers,
primarily based on their mood, while taking in consideration their budget, time and interests.

The goal is to create a personal feel and a valuable quality to it, an object that you can keep in your library after using it.
Extra Features:
Each book comes with a full size map of that city, pointing out buss
and train stations, parks, rivers, monuments, roads and areas.
The guide book is designed and released in several European cities.

Summary: The project showcases a series of calligraphy and font exercises that concluded to the concept and design of my own perosnal font called Key Serif.
Key Serif is named after its thick black stroke, similar to that of a key hole.

Font Recipe:
Roman, normal width, broad nib, high contrast, black stroke weight and serif.
The typeface is slightly rounded with low ascenders and descenders.

Editorial Design

Role: Concept / Graphic Design / Printing
Summary: The project is a redesign the novel If on a Winters Night a Traveler by Italian author Italo Calvino.
The book is divided in two different layouts, one in horizontal and one in vertical reading, so that it visually implements the story of the book.
Book Concept
Each chapter in the book is divided into 2 parts.

Instruction - The Author instructs the reader to perform certain things.

Narrative - The Author narrates the main story.
Page Layout
The layout of the Narrative part changes as the book progresses, from 12 to 0 columns.

The Instruction part is constructed by a combination of illustrations and text that resembles a manual.

The illustrations have a humoristic approach to the direct way the author instructs the reader.

The Narrative part has the classic layout of a book.

The layout begins with a number of columns scattered throughout the spreads that slowly come together and form the classic layout of a book.
The reader slowly comes to understand the book as he continues to read till the end.

Card Game Design
Client: Personal
Role: Concept / Graphic Design / Product Design
Summary: The project is a redesign of classic card game UNOs identity, reviewing its functional and visual level.
In addition there is booklet which works as a manual for presenting the new graphics and game rules.

The numbers on all the cards are displayed in regular and reversed sides.

Touring Club Italiano:

The player has the possibility to play in different directions, much like Domino.
Thin cuts on the four corners of the cards allow the player to match the cards in left, right, top or bottom.

The booklet design is minimal, focusing on the pastel colours of the UNO Reversed cards.
