SMALL CUTTLEFISH BIOGEOGRFICO On 100 thousand kilometers square, around 11 million
hectares, cover in their majority by humid tropical forest (pacifico Forest basal), located between
geographic Ecuador and the climatic equator, epicenter of the greater precipitation of all the
hemisphere, with values that grow progressively between 3000 mm distributed in 150 days to the
year in the north of the region, until the average part, where falls mint of 8000 mm to 9000 mm in
300 days to the year, fact that turns it the rainy zone but of the country and one of those of greater
precipitation in the world, the months but rainy of the region they are in the North and central part of
the region in August to November, whereas in the South part they are of January to June. The
region this composing by 83 municipalities of five departments, Nario, the Cauca, Valley, Small
cuttlefish and part of Antioquia, is a warm region and humid and rainy, with temperatures average of
2 C and 28o C. Where the tropical humid forest predominates, with a great hydrographic wealth,
conceived this like the sum of rivers, gorges, matting and marshes, numerous rivers of the short
and long Cauca cross it from east to the West. Biogeogrfico Choco contains a privileged mosaic of
11 ecosystems and 15 biogeogrficas units, turning it, possibly in the region with the greater
biodiversity of species of flora and fauna of the planet. This region presents/displays varied
ecosystems of high degree of biological diversity, in fact, some of them are under the legal status of
forest reserves and are part of the national system of natural national parks, exist the a the present
time, nine natural national parks, with an extension near both million hectares. One is the Paramillo
parks - most extensive, with 460,000 hectares, farallones of Cali, Sanquianga, Katfos, Utrfa,
Tatam, Gorgona, Munchique and the Orqufdeas, and the biogeogrficos districts of Acandf, San
Bias, Tacarcuna, Aspav _, Jurad, Utrfa, Baud, Rfosucio, I disturb, Murrf, AtratoSan Juan, Micay,
Gorgona, Tumaco, Barbecues and Sinu'-San Jorge. But the selective extraction and the cutting
strickle, without considering the sustainability of the resource, destroy the biological diversity, cause
the disappearance of the natural forests, alter the hidrolgico cycle, erode grounds, settle the water
obstacles and produce in you complete an atmospheric imbalance. Biogeogrfico Choco' is
recognized like the region the highest concentration of biodiversity by unit of area reported in the
world. They have been up to 400 species of trees and 800 of vertebrates by hectare, number
record, very over the Amazonia, reason sufficient to indicate that biogeogrfico Choco' is to
Colombia which Amazon for Brazil. The low river basin of laughed San Juan and the Bay of Malaga
has been identified like the biodiversos ecosystems of the planet, because it has not been in any
other Earth place such concentration of species of plants and animals. They have been discovered
between 7,000 and 8.000 species of plants of the 45,000 that there are in Colombia, and one thinks
that a little more than 2,000 species of plants and more than 100 species of birds of the region are
not in any other place of the world. Also their scorpions are unique and their butterflies, the first
results gathered by pacifico the Bio project (Germa'n Andrade, 1993) indicate that in the region it is
represented near 30% of the species of plants that is created has the country. One suspects that
genes, species and ecosystems of the region not yet investigated thoroughly will be able to
generate novel contributions to the local economy, new matters for the industry and new medicines
of an unsuspected and incalculado value. This order of ideas, where is the greater threat by the rich
still unexplored biological diversity, one becomes a highly fragile zone and vulnerable, then,
according to studies advanced by different organizations one is one of the three threatened zones
more of Suramrica and one of the ten in the world that despi
