one as a professional. The information used in the proceeding paper was gleaned from a

areas of advocacy, organizing, navigation, mediation, and a community service leader. As a
social worker, I promote and support- individuals, groups and communities well being and am
engage in the battle for social justice for all. However, as a generalist practitioner; my strength
lies in seeking out the super hero in clients served- helping people find resources within
themselves to become the agents of change for their lives.

SUPER HEROS

Dr. Anna Scheyett reveals there are over six hundred thousand social workers in the
United States. Unfortunately, many in society perceive social workers and their work as peace
making hippy liberals. Nevertheless, social workers are professionally trained interventionist;

are and engage in the battle for social justice for all.
Dr. Scheyett describes social workers as "super heroes. The phrase "super hero," is
appropriate to describe social workers and the work they preform. Social workers are needed
throughout the human lifespan to lend assistance to individuals for the many life challenges and
various situations. They have professional training to recognize and understand the interrelated
relationships between people, families, communities, neighborhoods, policy, and societal laws.

often intervening, to prevent breaks that can possibly result in fracture and bring about problems.
Social workers are "super heroes, seeking to find the "super hero," inside of
individuals. The work, social workers do encompass more than teaching coping skills or
providing system resources for people and communities. They seek out the "super hero," within
individuals and communities to empower them and changing the trajectory of lives. In
conclusion, social workers help people find resources within themselves to become the agents of
change for their lives.
