Cast Iron
Cast Iron is frequently used/applied in machineparts, drivewheels, hydraulic manyfolds and bearings.
Cast Iron has two major grades: Gray Iron (GG) and Ductile or SG Iron (GGG). Gray Iron has - due to its
structure - no yield, SG Iron on the other hand has some yield.
As major stockist we can supply with the following:
DIN: GG20, GG25, GG30, GG35, GGG40, GGG50, GGG60 and GGG70
EN: EN-GJL-250, EN-GJL-300, EN-GJL-350, EN-GJS-400-15, EN-GJS-500-7, EN-GJS-600-3 and ENGJS-700-2
Continuously cast iron round bars, squares, rectangles and tubes can be cut at any specific
length. Our modern sawing-machines are at your service for precise and square cutting.
For non-standard sizes in round bars, squares and rectangles larger than 300 mm we can supply
you static cast iron and proof-machined cast iron.
Flanged bushes are manufactured from continuously, centrifugally or static cast material.
Our manufacturers are able to supply castings which are manufactured using specific patterns.
The alloys GG20, GG30, GG35, GGG70, Meehanite (including grades GD250 and SF400) and stress
relieved material can be supplied by us on customer order.
From our stock we can deliver GG25, GGG40, GGG50 and GGG60 (DIN) and EN-GJL-250, EN-GJS-400-15,
EN-GJS-500-7 and EN-GJS-600-3. Please refer to our extensive program to get an impression of Elcas
possibilities. Our large stock guarantees an efficient and fast delivery. Besides our own stock, we weekly
receive new supplies from our manufacturers which allows us to offer our customers materials not
available in Elcas stock at short notice. In case of short (guaranteed) delivery terms we can keep the
material on stock until the customer demands.

GG25 is the most common flake cast iron grade. It offers a good combination of
strength and wear resistance. It is recommended for uses where a balance is
required between mechanical and characteristics and machinability. Cast iron
with flake graphite, predominant pearlitic structure. Heat treatment is not
recommended.

GGG40 is the most common used nodular cast iron. Nodular cast iron has
predominately a ferritic structure. Offers superior machinability combined with
optimal impact, fatigue, electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability. For
use beneath 0C on a special grade (GGG40.3 or EN-GJC400-18-LT) can be
produced with a very high impact test value.
