CHEMICAL ENGINEERING IN COLOMBIA

It is known that the industry is taking a leading role in the world and Colombia is no exception.
How to make our country between a protagonist in this world today?
Have professionals who respond to this question is essential if you want to walk with good pace, is
why talking of chemical engineering is essential when talking about this subject; is also important to
stress that this part of science not only focuses on the theme of the industry, there are many other
fields and that similarly are part of the life of the race in question.
Over time has made remarkable the importance of chemical engineering in the development of
society, from the time when man learned to use fire through various stages of evolution of human
society until events relevant as the Industrial Revolution to assume the importance and role as large
chemical engineering.
In Colombia since the botanical expedition scientists from other countries watched the need for

transnational companies that require these professionals is a good choice of work; likewise in the
area of education linking to a university for teaching and research with which evolution and
discovery of new and improved methods that will help the future of humanity is sought.

surprises about the race itself; since by its very name gives an idea one branch of science:
chemistry; but instead see this race offers a varied themes as to other branches of science.
Colombia is still leading in this area and this is reflected in organizing important for the development
of this race events such as: the XXVII Interamerican Congress of Chemical Engineering and
Colombia, where the need to disseminate new knowledge is sought science and technology in this
area and seeking encounter between students, teachers, scientists, researchers, professionals and
entrepreneurs; and pose new challenges that have chemical engineering in the future as search
optimization of processes and resources for sustainable development.
Finally we find that in Colombia chemical engineering has not been unknown and has been for
some time and has evolved and continue to evolve, especially now in the current era in which it is
more than needed professionals in this field and are need ideas and new discoveries which will aim
to secure the development of society but with a high sense of responsibility to the environment.
Those who chose this career are challenged to learn, research and generate ideas with which we
are able to meet the responsibility that we compete in Colombia and the world.
