But what does this mean, you ask?

Well, we polled all of our residents last year to get their
opinions about the best of the best on campus. And these

hang out, hook up, and recover on campus.

Maybe you want to find a place to study all night

w/out bugging your roomie.
Weve got the answer.

Finished your exam and need a place to decompress?

We know where to go.
Want to forget your studies, become one with nature, and
ponder the meaning of it all? OR equally important, find the
biggest, most delicious carne asada burrito?!
Thats right, genius. WE KNOW WHERE TO FIND WHAT
YOURE LOOKING FOR.

Cant find what youre looking for in this book? Check out the
Housing Dining Hospitality Web site: http://hdh.ucsd.edu

So sit back, relax, and allow past students to steer you in the
direction of the best public bathroom or friends to play with.
Weve just saved you so much time! Now get to it! Have some
fun! Because...

Sustainability
Simply put, being sustainable means meeting the basic
needs of the present without compromising the ability
of future generations to meet their own needs.
UC San Diego spends over $55,000 daily on utilities
(gas, water, electricity). You can reduce our utility
consumption by making simple choices every day.
Conserve energy Use less water Unplug things
Do less laundry Recycle Shun packaging Reuse...

Need more ideas?

Theres a full list of tips on the EcoNaut Web site,
including:
- Speaking out. One leaky toilet can lose enough water
to fill an entire swimming pool in just one week.
Report leaks to maintenance! 858.534.2600
- Take shorter showers. Get clean, dont get prune-y.
- Only run full loads of laundry.

Be a Hero Not a Zero

UC San Diego is determined to become a zero-waste
university by 2020. We have a long way to go, but you can
help us get there. Plastic lasts for thousands of years. Keep
that spork out of landfills by using permanent dishware.
Find food with no packaging. Reuse your containers.

- Turn off the lights when you dont use them!

- If dining in restaurants, only use china. If dining out,
use recyclables.
- Throw your food waste into the compost bins.
AND MORE! Visit http://hdh.ucsd.edu/sustainability
for info, to get involved, or whatever.
