Evaluation Models

Evaluation is reflective a precise imperative phase in the learning and training process.
This step helps us to determine if the curriculum helped students to reach their academic goals.
Evaluation can be defined as a structured process of assessing the success of a project in
meeting its goals and to reflect on the lessons learned.(Evaluation Toolbox, 2010) The
following document will illustrate the evaluation process that took place after Chakra Meditation
course was presented to trainers and client members within a control market audience. This
document will identify the resources, activities, short-term outcomes, and impact of the training
program provided to Chakra Meditation course educators and trainers.
We have different models to evaluate trainings. In this situation, we feel like the best
model to use is the logical model. The logical model is a tool for identifying the processes and
components that lead to the proposed program outcomes.(Royse, Thyer, & Padgett, 2006). The
logical evaluation model has four steps, which are inputs, activities, outputs, and finally client
outcomes. For the first step, we will gather all the necessary information to develop a plan. Then,
we move the second step and we will develop and implement activities. Here is where the main
body of the training takes place. On the third step we will gather the results and feedback and at
the end, the fourth step will help us to determine the success for the training from the clients
point of view.
Before starting with the evaluation procedure, allow me to give you a little bit of history
as to how this course was created and about the scenario behind wanting to share this knowledge
with others. Rachel Freelon, a stay-at-home mother and Masters Degree Student in Adult
Education and Training was looking for information and techniques to add to her life that would
help her manage all the daily functions and demands without having to pay crazy amounts of

money or even leaving the comforts of her home in Gautier, MS. Everything started when the
search for information about chakra meditation did not have the structure comparable to that of
traditional courses nor did the options available in its current forms of learning offers much
information and skill about such an amazing subject. In this market of unique learning
experiences, this course truly falls into that category for many reasons. At this moment in our
history, by using her experience in customer service and communication industry to develop the
idea to create a teachable course of chakra meditation for colleges and corporation implement
into their current training module and curriculum. Since then, chakra meditation course has not
stopped growing. Currently they have been an increase number of people wanting to know more
about the subject and the practices incorporation into their daily lives
More than 4 years ago, Freelon started a meditating as part of her daily morning ritual
and practice towards a healthier lifestyle. Therefore it seemed like an obvious conclusion to take
of all her years experience of working in a call center environment to offer better customer
service to their current consumers, learners, trainers, educators and to help capture new client
potential. The strategy is to provide the level of customer service to the participants and
stakeholders of the chakra meditation course as if they had called into call center 15,000
customer service representatives and managers. For almost two years, the chakra meditation
course has not received complains about poor customer service, yet it has not picked up by major
colleges and companies either. Complains that have been received come from both, internal and
external customers are too varied and undetermined. Many learners and trainers touched on
matters of the course was very difficult to understand while others viewed materials was too
simplistic. After months of talking to a clients about ways to tailor the course more to fit into
their needs and learners needs no remedy was reached. The intended attitude of the he chakra

meditation course with a customer service reps flare was to offer up a new approach to educating
learners and instructors from a business point of view. However, clients didnt sense the same
direction within the course design, nor respected the creativity of modifying the course to spec
and often felt their experiences was valueless as the consumers. The communication broke down
within the creating the design of the he chakra meditation course and the clienteles that will
deem it valuable to purchase was poor. Internal and external consumers also felt like the he
chakra meditation course were knowledgeable about the product information and history. Freelon
lost a few customers however, she did not acquire any new ones either. Ms. Freelon felt that it
was essential to make improvements and after talking to the mentors and supporters, they
unequivocal suggested that she hire a professional consults to help. She contacted a company
that handles instructional design editing to help create an action plan to evaluate the results for
how to make changes to the course product and its marketing. We will now describe the
evaluation process using the logical method.

provide notes for instructional design improvements for the learners to appreciate.

Discussions Usually after the lectures, the instructor will ask as questions and
the class will share opinions with all the participants. The instructor will act as a
moderator making sure the participants stay on track and also, to make sure that
learners are knowledgeable during the discussion time.

Role-play This activity allow the class members to practice what they have
learn. Role-play gives learners a chance to practice, comprehend, and recognize
why it is imperative to exercise what they learn. It is also, alternative way to
evoke procedures and enquire about questions that still hold confusion.

Mini essays Learner have the opportunity to write a daily reflection on what
they have learn, what they are ready to implement and also their feeling and the
overall experience at the end of each training session.

Outputs, Step Three Outputs

Tests In diverse occasions, the learner will take different test to assess the
learning and conclude if the curriculum or the methodology need to be modified
to the needs of the class or to the needs of an individual trainee.

Surveys The surveys play a very significant part of the training development.
Here the learners have the prospect to assess the trainers and the training situation.
We retain the surveys strictly confidential to inhibit unfairness and bias. The
surveys are not obligatory nevertheless they are highly recommended.

Presentations Learners have the opportunity to organize a presentations and

present resolution to hypothetic circumstances. During the presentation, learners
take a break from being in the classroom to the instructor teaching the course or
the college, or corporation. Presentations also help some learners to gain more
confidence to interact with other people while creating instructional design
tailoring to a clients needs.

will also gather as much data as possible (surveys, emails, and more) received
from internal and external clients. The first interview will take place a six weeks
of after concluding the training and the net interview will happen four months
later. At this point and based on the results, we decided if we need to implement a
follow up to the Freelons Chakra Meditation Course redo to the modifications or
if we need to schedule a meeting after one year from conference end date.

tasks laid out in the course while showing more empathy to the internal and external clients
concerns. We are sure that this course training in chakra meditation will help to change the

culture of the organization by creating a friendlier place of work and learning community. We
have showed that the Freelons Chakra Meditation Course and the important of working as a
team with the same goals in mind.
An evaluation overview of how that information could be used for future decisions
regarding the efficacy and additional offerings of the course or training session may look similar
to this: The one-to-one evaluation revealed that the learners preferred working knowledge of the
chakra meditation in both written and practical form. The instructional materials identified why
the training was needed. The instructions for each section was easy to understand and follow and
the vocabulary was not difficult to understand. When it came down to whether the lesson was
clear, one learner indicated that it took a little time to figure out what was to be done but it
became clearer as the steps started building to the final product.

This training session is a wonderful way to create a win-win situation for everybody at
Freelons Chakra Meditation Course design team. An atmosphere in which administration,
production line, and internal and external clients will have an opportunity to enjoy a better work
relationship by putting in practice better communication skills. This change will provide more
financial constancy for all the parties involved with Freelons Chakra Meditation Course because
more satisfied clients they have, the better changes learners have gaining access to organizations
with this course available.
