Identification
of
Standards
Nevadas
education
standards
for
technology
are
basic
standards
that
can
be
integrated
so
that
it
can
coincide
with
any
subject.
For
each
grade
level,
there
are
four
standards:
exceeds,
meets,
approaches,
and
below
that
gives
the
educator
an
insight
on
how
to
incorporate
technology
in
the
classroom.
The
ISTE
standards
for
students
basically
show
the
standards
if
how
to
student
is
advancing
in
education
with
the
use
of
technology.
Stated
by
the
ISTE
standards,
Todays
students
must
be
prepared
to
thrive
in
a
constantly
evolving
technological
landscape.
The
ISTE
standards
for
teachers
include
designing,
implementing,
and
accessing
different
learning
abilities
to
get
the
students
involved
with
technology.
All
teachers
in
the
district,
nation,
and
state
should
meet
the
ISTE
standards
to
be
the
best
educating
when
teaching
with
technology.
For
my
lesson
plan
in
the
next
section,
I
will
be
using
the
standards
from
my
local
Nevada
district,
state,
and
national
level
to
achieve
the
highest
educational
standard
lesson.
I
will
be
using
the
CCSD
content
standard
for
grade
eight
which
state,
Students
use
appropriate
productivity
tools
including
but
not
limited
to
word
processing,
spreadsheet,
database,
multimedia,
and
telecommunications.
The
exceeded
standards
bullet
points
include:
Demonstrates
proficiency
and
accuracy
in
keyboarding
without
visual
reference;
Independently
composes,
edits,
and

a
document
using
a
word-

program;
Creates
a
unique
database
that
accurately
interprets
data;
Create
several
different
charts
from
a
spreadsheet
to
visually
represent
the
same
data;
Present
a
multi-page,
multimedia
presentation
using
text,
graphics,
sound
and
all
of
the
following:
animation,
digital
video
and
linking;
Move,
copy,
rename
files
on
a
computer
disk,
hard

server,
or
other
storage
device;
Explain
knowledge
of
LAN

etc.;
Strategically

Independently
demonstrates
knowledge
by
incorporating
information
retrieved
from
remote
resources
into
different
projects;
Demonstrates
connectivity
to
share
information
and
resources.
I
will
be
using
the
standard
one,
Facilitate
and
inspire
student
learning
and
creativity
for
teachers
by
the
ISTE
standards.
This
standard
includes
some
of
the
following
that
I
will
be
incorporating
into
my
lesson
plan:
promoting
model
creativity,
innovative
thinking,
and
engaging
students
in
exploring
real-world
issues.
I
will
have
my
students
apply,
Innovative
designer:
Students
use
a
variety
of
technologies
within
a
design
process
to
identify
and
solve
problems
by
creating
new,
useful
or
imaginative
solutions.
Students
must
be
proficient
in
technology
and
it
is
up
to
the
teacher
to
apply
these
important
standards.
Creating
original
and
unique
work
for
students
will
help
students
advance
faster.
I
will
definitely
try
my
best
to
incorporate
all
of
these
standards
when
I
am
a
future
educator.
As
stated
from
Nevada
Computer
and
Technology
Standards,
Rapid
changes
in
our
global
society
and
technological
advancements
warrant
changes
to
the
ways
technologies
are
integrated
into
the
classroom
instruction.
Technology
is
so
important
in
this
generation
because
it
is
everywhere
and
it
is
used
everyday.
I
feel
that
following
Nevadas
standards
for
technology
will
help
teachers
be
more
successful
when
including
technology
into
the
students
curriculum.

STEP TWO:
Now that you have an idea of what you are going to do for this
assignment, you will start this project by opening up Microsoft Word or
PowerPoint because you will be creating your game online. Time to get
started on your own mystery board game.
First find the definitions for 10 vocabulary words of your choice from
any book we have read in class, any vocabulary assignments that we
have completed, or any eight-grade level and above words (Meaning I
want ten vocabulary words). (I WANT YOU TO FIND WORDS THAT
WILL MAKE THIS GAME A CHALLENGE FOR THE STUDENTS IN
YOUR CLASS).
STEP THREE:
Start creating your board game!
Now that you have twenty words and definitions, you are all set.
v Create game cards on Word or PowerPoint (you are going to
need a front and back so in total, you need to have 20 cards that
you will print out and staple or tape together
STEP FOUR:
You cannot have a game board without the board!!!!!
After you finish making your game cards, now its time to CREATE
YOUR OWN BOARD.
This will be a separate document (I would suggest Word Document for
this part)
Be creative! I want to see:
Clip art or pictures
Colors
Look up games like Monopoly, Sorry, Life, and etc. to get an idea of
what a game board looks like!
STEP FIVE:
Now that you finished with the game cards and game board, its time to
create your game pieces.
This part can be on the same document as your game board.
I want four game pieces
THESE PIECES WILL BE CUT OUT INDIVIDUALLY AND WE WILL
