A dangerous life
In a lot of adventure films, characters have to do dangerous
things, like jumping out of windows or falling down stairs. A
few actors can do these things, but most use stunt artists
like Kylie Morgan to do the stunts for them.

How did you become a stunt artist, Kylie?

As a child, I was good at sport, especially judo and
gymnastics, so my parents sent me to a holiday stunt school
for kids when I was eleven. I loved it and decided to be a
stunt artist. Ive worked in lots of different films and Ive
done stunts for many famous actresses who were too scared
to do dangerous things. Of course, I cant give you any
names.

How do you train?

I have to keep very fit, so I go running or swimming every
day. Im also having dance lessons. I can do most sports like
horse riding, diving or motorcycling, but sometimes I have
to learn a special skill for a film. Im learning kung fu at the
moment because Im going to need it for my next job.

Have you ever refused to do something?

Only once. They wanted me to dive and swim with sharks.
It was too dangerous because you cant control sharks. I said
no and lost the job.

Have you ever had any injuries?

Luckily it doesnt often happen, but there are sometimes
accidents. In my last film, I drove a motorbike through a
fire. I had special clothes, but I still burned my arm badly. I
wont do it again! Another time, I sprained my wrist falling
down stairs and I couldnt work for a week. But it wasnt
too serious!
