Lesson Plan

Topic: Earth Science Seasons


Objectives: Students will show their understanding of the earths four
seasons by being attentive during the lesson and creating a brochure to
reflect what was taught. The students will then present their brochure to the
class.
Prerequisites: Students should know basic time frame in which each
season occurs. They also should know basic computer app skills and Word
skills.
Procedures:
1. I will begin by talking to the students and observing the knowledge
they already have about the seasons.
2. After speaking with them, I will show the PowerPoint with general
information about the four seasons.
3. I will then show them the brochure that they will create.
What I will expect from them:
The brochure should be done in Word & individually. They
students will create a brochure on their favorite season.
They will be required to have an explanation of why it is
their favorite, along with facts about the season. The
students will be expected to present their brochure to the
class.
Material needed: Computer, Internet access, & Word processing.

1. Ask questions about objects and events in the environment (e.g.,
plants, rocks, storms) (SI-E-A1)
2. Pose questions that can be answered by using students own
observations and scientific knowledge (SI-E-A1)
3. Predict and anticipate possible outcomes (SI-E-A2)

5. Compare weather patterns as they relate to seasonal changes in
students immediate environment (ESS-E-A4)

Accommodations: Children with special needs will be paired with another


student for help and/or the teacher will aid them. Non-Native children can be
