I Know the Scriptures are True

Primary President: The theme for Primary this year is I Know the Scriptures are
True. In classes and sharing time we have taught the children that if they search
the scriptures and listen with their heart, they will hear the Saviors voice. His
voice will fill their soul with peace, comfort them in times of need, and testify to
them that the scriptures are true. Many of us have thought and asked the
question; wouldnt it have been wonderful to hear the Saviors words as He spoke
them? I know the scriptures are true.
Counsellor: We can still hear His voice today and we can find joy in reading the
words of our Savior Jesus Christ. The scriptures tell us how: Yea behold, I will tell
you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you
and which shall dwell in your heart (D & C 8:2) Jesus will tell us in our minds and
in our hearts! To better understand His words, you need to listen with your heart.
Counsellor: This year we have strived to use the scriptures to help the children
understand gospel principles such as the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the role of
past and present prophets, the Restoration of the Gospel, the blessings of the
temple, and the importance of missionary work.
JANUARY

S: 2nd Nephi 32:3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they
speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of
Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
P: We are richly blessed in these latter days to be giving a prophet to lead and
guide us.
P: I hear a living prophet speak the things that Christ would say and I feel the Holy
Spirit as He teaches truth and right. Latter day prophets and the gift of the Holy

Ghost keeps me close to my Heavenly Father and allows me to hear my Saviors

voice.

P: As I reach out to my Heavenly Father, as I pray to Him in the name of Christ,
He speaks to me everywhere, as I read the scriptures, I listen for His voice.
FEBRUARY
Talk: The Scriptures Teach of Heavenly Fathers Plan

P: The Family Proclamation teaches us: A family is ordained of God and
Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the
teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
P: Our Father in Heaven loves all his children we are important to Him and He
knows us.
P: Much like the happiness we want to have at home it takes work and a plan. Our
Father has a plan much like a map and it allows us to get back home to live Him
as well as our earthly families if we meet the requirements laid out for us.
P: The scriptures teach that each of us is a son or a daughter of our Heavenly
Father and that we lived with him before we were born.

P: He created this earth for us to live on. He sent His Son, Our Savior Jesus
Christ, to die for us and to help each of us when we make a mistake or when we
are sad and lonely.
P: We have been commanded to become like Jesus.
P: To Follow Gods plan, we need to repent when we do something wrong, be
baptized by immersion and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide us every
day.
P: Heavenly Fathers plan is a plan of happiness. He wants us to return with our
families to live with Him and His Son, Jesus Christ.

P: One of the ways Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ send messages to people
on the earth is by speaking to their servants the prophets and then commanding
those servants to speak to the people.
P: We are led by a living prophet, our prophet today is President Thomas S.
Monson.

P: The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored through the prophet Joseph
Smith. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph in the sacred grove.
P: Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of
Jesus Christ.
P: The restored Church has the same kinds of leaders as it did when Jesus Christ
was on the earth.

P: When we let our faith grow, we will love and trust Jesus Christ and keep His

covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the
presence of God and for families to be united eternally

P: The scriptures teach that the gospel will be preached in all the world.
P: Missionary work blesses the whole world. The gospel is taught in many
languages so that almost everyone in the world can understand it. I can say the
name of the church in English: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
