Shavuot (Pentecost) is celebrated on the 50th day after the first normal Sabbath

within the seven days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This was the time Israel
after Israel left Egypt, on their way to Mount Sinai, where they would receive the Ten
Commandments. The people camped at the foot of the mountain where they
cleansed themselves for two days before they heard the Voice of YHVH from the
Mountain. This Feast is about meeting with YHVH at the mountain. The Feast is to
Celebrated as a Sabbath, and no work is to be performed to make it profane (as a
normal day doing your own pleasures).

In the third month after the Israelites left Egypt (Mitzrayim - bondage), they arrived in
the Sinai desert and camped opposite Mount Sinai.

Moses was then told by Elohim to gather the Israelites together to receive the Torah
(Exodus 19:1-8). The Israelites answered, "All that YHVH has spoken we will do!"
In Hebrew, it is Na'aseh V'Nishmah, which means, "We agree to do even before we
have heard."
YHVH gave the Israelites two days to cleanse themselves, wash their clothes, and
prepare to receive the Torah on the third day. From early morning, dense clouds
covered the peak of the mountain. Thunder and lightning were frequently seen and
heard. The sound of the shofar (ram's horn) became very strong, and the top of the
mountain was enveloped in fire and smoke. The Israelites at the foot of Mount Sinai
stood in great awe (Exodus 19:9-19). Moses then went up alone on the mountain,
and as he neared the top, a mighty voice announced the Ten Commandments
(Exodus 19:20-25; 20:1-21).
The Ten Commandments or Ten Words are the Contractual words that Israel agreed
to so that they could become the Wife of Elohim. This was the first part of the Hebrew
marriage called the ketubah that relates to the establishment of the marriage
contract. The second part of the marriage is called the gathering where the Groom
will come and take His Bride after He prepared a house for them. The Covenant
made with their father Abraham was the agreement to establish the promise
and this agreement is the first step of fulfilment of that Marriage Covenant. We
will later see further fulfilment of the Covenant promises YHVH made to Abraham
until ALL has been fulfilled and His Plan comes into completion at the Second
Coming of Messiah, where He will come to collect His Bride.

Anything we see in the Brit Chadasha (NT) needs to be confirmed

in the TaNaK (OT) to support its validity. The principle of receiving
spiritual ability through gifts is also known as receiving an anointing.
This anointing gives one the ability to do something that you could
not have done before. There are examples of people in the TaNaK
who YHVH anointed for a specific purpose. For example Moses,
whom YHVH anointed that enabled him to be the leader of the
Israelites and to lead them from Egypt to the Promised Land. YHVH
also took from the Spirit He gave Moses and put it in the Elders to
enable them to rule the people with him.

Without the Anointing of YHVH Spirit through His Gifts, we cannot be the Body or
Temple or the Priesthood and will not be able to perform these functions. Anoint is
the Hebrew word mashach and is the root word for Mashiach that means Messiah,
Who is Yshua the Anointed One. We are little anointed ones and that is where the
word Christian comes from, derived from the Greek word Christ that means
Anointed One as well.

Yshua is a Prophet like Moses Whom the Father has sent to the
House of Israel to lead them out of sin back in under His initial
Covenant oath (marriage vows) so that they can live with Him in
the Promised Land (His House). He did not come to destroy what
Moses received from YHVH [Mat 5:17], but came to establish it
and renew it in His Blood to make it an everlasting Covenant, a
Covenant with better promises for His Bride.
Just after Israel heard the Voice of YHVH from the Mountain, they
build an image of gold, which they worshiped in the glory of YHVH
and three thousand men died because of this sin. [Ex. 32:28].

On Pentecost (Shavuot) Peter preached and about three thousand people gladly
received the message and believed in the Messiah [Acts 2:41] and the curse was
reversed by three thousand people who received life.
The Torah is holy and good, but it cannot secure life without the testimony of Yshua
and the receiving of His Spirit Who writes YHVHs Torah on our hearts.

The Spirit did not replace the Torah but WROTE THE TORAH IN THE HEARTS of
YHVHs people, those who accepted Yshua as Savior, so that they can WALK IN
HIS WAYS, as stipulated in the Torah. [Heb 8:10, Heb 10:16]. The outpouring of the
Spirit on Shavuot (Pentecost) confirmed and fulfilled this prophecy and this Festival

The word for wind is Ruach in Hebrew and that is the Hebrew name of YHVHs Spirit
Ruach HaKodesh or Holy Spirit. Tongues is the Hebrew word lashone

Receiving His Spirit (Torah on your heart) is your engagement ring to the Messiah.
We are YHVH purchased possession and He bought us with His Blood. The Holy
Spirit is His Gift to us so that we can know that we belong to Him just as you would
give and engagement ring to your bride to be, as a sign to her and to others that she
belongs to you. What does it mean when I am filled with His Spirit?
YHVH will empower you through the Gifts of His Spirit that will enable you to perform
certain spiritual duties, which you could not have done before. Lets look at the Gifts
of the Spirit to see what it entails and how YHVH equips His Body.

We have seen how YHVH Anointed people in the time of

Moses, which enabled them to lead and serve the people
and perform all the tasks required in the Tabernacle. We
have learned from Scripture that we are the Temple of
YHVH as well as His Priesthood, and this can only
happen through the Anointing of His Holy Spirit, Ruach
HaKodesh.

The Anointing of YHVH is distributed to all who believe through the Gifts of the Spirit.
Is there a difference between having the Spirit and having the Gifts of the Spirit? Yes,
when you were baptised YHVH gave you His Spirit and His Spirit wrote the
Commandments on your heart, which is part of the rebirth process. It is His Spirit
that causes you to want to learn more of Him and Who helps you to overcome sin.
You will receive the Gifts of the Spirit at a later stage when you are ready to move to
the next level of service in His Kingdom. This is what the Feast of Shavuot or
Pentecost is all about; the receiving of the Gifts of YHVHs Spirit to enable believers
and to equip them for the work in YHVHs Kingdom.

The first three Gifts are used to reach the nations through missionary work where
YHVH spread the Gospel message to unsaved people in the world. Shepherds and
Teachers are there to build up the Body of those who already believe. They look after
the peoples spiritual health and make sure that everybody is equipped with the
foundational truth and doctrine. The last seven Gifts are to serve the Body and to
look after the physical needs of the believers. It is done through encouragement,
support, praying for needs or for a sickness, directing in wisdom in what to do in a
situation, or edifying through faith. Discerning of spirits of new people who enter to
protect the well being of the fellowship and ministering through tongues and
interpretation to set people free from bondage. Each one is given the manifestation
of the Spirit for profiting the body of Messiah and equipping the saints to enable them
to do and continue the work of the Messiah. Messiah means Anointed One and we
are anointed with the Spirit of YHVH to do the same work as Yshua did when He
walked the earth.

To be able to walk in Holiness to become Like Him: The spirit is known as the
Holy Spirit. This means that He is the Spirit that makes us Holy. To be Holy is to be
Set Apart and to build His People up in unity so that His fullness can be in them.

To do good or to "overcome evil with good". We are not able to overcome
evil if we are not filled by the Set-apart Spirit.
To edify and build up the body of Messiah and to attend to the needs of the

Do you want His Spirit and His Gifts? If yes, then the first step is to obey Him through
obeying His Commandments? YHVH only gives the fullness of His Spirit to those
who obey Him and whom He can trust with His Gifts. People who say that have the
Spirit of YHVH but refuse to acknowledge His Commandments, have another spirit
because His Spirit will never go against His Commandments
because He writes His Commandments in our heart through His

YHVH can only fill you in relation to how empty or hungry you
are.

Did you empty yourself from your own will and lusts to make room for His Spirit? He
wants your total submission and obedience to fully use you. Are you really hungry
and thirsty for the fullness of Him, and are you ready to go to the next level of faith
and relationship with Him? Ask YHVH to break your will so that you can be empty to
receive 100% of Him.
Do introspection and analyse your fruit. In your relationship with Him, when you pray,
are your prayers self centred and basically sound like a shopping list? If it is all
about Him and not about you, then you are truly empty and ready for His fullness.
Ask for the fruit of YHVHs Spirit to manifest in your life, submit your will to His Will
and make yourself available so that He can fill you and use you.

We see clearly what the fruit of the Spirit is and what to look for
discerning the sprits. Consider this scenario: People line up for
the Paster to pray for them and then they slay in the spirit, fall to
the ground, some crying, some laughing and some making animal
noises. Is barking like a dog, laughing and shaking uncontrollably,
rolling on the ground drunk, part of the fruits of YHVHs Spirit? No,
clearly not! His Spirit produces self-control, order and peace.

We are to have control over our bodies at all times, like the Spirit
directs, and not get drunk with wine or be under the influence of
any spirit causing spiritual drunkenness and confusion. YHVH is the God of order
and Satan is the god of chaos and confusion. Satan keeps people busy with fleshly
things that produce false manifestations in the church, claiming it to be from the Holy
Spirit.

Be aware of these things and avoid having anything to do with it because the people
who promote these things speak against YHVHs Word and they entertain people
with nice doctrines that tickle the ear and fleshly spiritual manifestations.
The laughing anointing was started by Rodney
Howard Browne in the 1990s. This anointing
took fire in America and was known as the
Toronto Blessing". Uncontrollable laughing and
weird manifestations was at the order of the day.
We will now look a few quotes from Rodney
Howard Browne to test his fruits and the spirit he
promotes:

"As long as something is happening it really does

not matter if it is of God, of man or of the devil." Personal Freedom Outreach

people and tell them to get up and suggest all they want and see what will

One of the recent upcoming revival preachers is Todd

Bentley who will not only shock you with his appearance, but
also his methods; violence in The Name of God. Bentley
goes down the line of people to pray for them releasing the
anointing and yelling Boom-Ba as each person falls to the
ground. He is covered in tattoos and claims it to be
Christian art
Here are a few quotes from the man in question:

And I'm thinking, God, why is not the power of God

moving? He said, "Because you haven't kicked that
woman in the face." (audience laughter)
And there is this older lady worshipping right in front of
the platform. (audience laughter) And the Holy Spirit
spoke to me--the gift of faith came on me--He said, "Kick
her in the face with your biker-boot." (audience laughter)
I inched closer and I went like this [Todd Bentley performs a kick with his
right leg and yells] BAM! (audience laughter) And just as my boot made
contact with her nose, she fell under the power of God.
The Lord told me that this anointing would be the
most contagious anointing in my ministry (He then
bends over and emits a loud and prolonged scream,
which I imagine is the same sound someone would
make should a knife be stuck in their gut)
Bentley claims that "God" told him to: run and knock a
person to the ground; "Ground and pound;" choke a
man; run and hit a man so hard "it drove him back several feet! He hit the
ground and his tooth popped right out of his mouth!" (audience laughter)
Bentley shakes uncontrollably while yelling and laughing. Is this form the Spirit of
YHVH or from another spirit? Can it be the kundalini spirit?
For thousands of years the manifestations of an awakened
kundalini among people of other religions has been exactly the
same as the results of being Slain in The Spirit in so called
Christian meetings. Such as involuntary and spasmodic body
movements and postures; vibrating sensations; shaking; abnormal
breathing patterns; hot and cold sensations, unusual or extremes
of emotions; distortion of thought processes; detachment;
disassociation; bodily activities such as trembling, vocal activities
such as yelling, roaring, whistling, and chirping, spontaneous

Is he a false prophet/teacher? Look at his fruits and decide. You will know a false
prophet the moment he opens his mouth and speak things contrary to Scripture.

Do not trust them, do not go to their meetings, do not let them lay hands on you or
pray for you because that is how this false spirit is transferred into many believers
that make them spiritually blind for the truth. John called this spirit the spirit of the
Antimessiah.

On the other side of the coin we have the Gifts of YHVHs Spirit that is real, but
supernatural in nature and some may think it is not of Him, especially with the
counterfeit false manifestations and gifts going around today.

Allow the Gifts of the Spirit to flow in your midst and if someone brings a word of
wisdom or knowledge or a tongue with interpretation, test these things if they are in
line with the Word and from YHVH. Do not despise it because of its supernatural
nature for fear of a false spiritual manifestation. Paul gave us the Gifts of the Spirit in
Rom 12:6-8, lets read on and find out how we should act in order to allow YHVHs
Spirit to work.

We should embrace these gifts with an attitude of brotherly love, true love without
being a hypocrite, be tender hearted and appreciate one another. Serving the Master
with passion and not being lazy or idol in duty. Giving preference to your brother or
sister, regarding them higher as yourself. Seek unity and strive to be of one mind in
all doctrine and knowledge. Do not be proud and think that you have all the wisdom
in the world, rather respect one anothers opinion. Strive towards peace and if
someone do something bad to you or offend you, forgive and act in the opposite spirit
of kindness. This is the environment where YHVHs Gifts will flow and where you will
see the powerful presence of YHVH at work just like in the first century Assembly.
Without these characteristics YHVHs Spirit will be quenched and His Spirit will not
work.

If someone operates in the power and gifts of the Spirit and someone else say it is
from Satan, then that person will not be forgiven for he or she has spoken against
YHVHs Spirit. You will know a tree by its fruit, weather it is from YHVH or from
Satan. The safest way is not to speak against the workings of the Spirit who work
amongst believers who bear good fruit and who have their foundation founded on the
Torah. There will be false prophets and false signs and wonders in the end times but
you must test these prophets by the fruit of their lips and actions. You will clearly see
whether they in YHVHs Spirit or the spirit of the Antimessiah.
WARNING!!! If you speak against the working of the Gifts of the Spirit then you shall
not be forgiven, not in this world or in the world to come.

The challenge for us today is to help people to ask for the Gifts of the Spirit and to
allow it to work in their midst so that the body of Messiah may be edified and made
whole. I believe that there are a very low percentage of believers who ever receive
their spiritual Gifts from YHVH and even lower number that actually allow and use
them. This must change so that the Body of the Messiah to be healthy to function
effectively amongst the brethren and in the world.
How do you receive His Gifts?
YHVH will place a desire in your heart for His Gifts and you will receive His Gifts by
lying on of hands and through prayer.

Make sure the person praying for you have the right fruits in their lives [Matt 7:15-16],
and that the person is anointed by YHVH, expressing some of the Gifts of the Holy
Spirit. They should teach and follow sound doctrine based on the Word and obey
YHVHs Commandments [Acts 5:32].
I encourage everybody who do not have any of the Gifts of YHVHs Spirit, to pray
and ask YHVH to anoint them and equip them with power so that they might be used
in His Kingdom for the benefit of the Body of Messiah and the lost people in the
world.
