COMMONLY USED AREAS

KNEADING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed by to and fro
kneading rapidly and softly on the certain area
or points with thenar eminence, root of the
palm or belly of the fingers.
Its frequency is 120 to 160 times per minute.
It is indicated in headache, dizziness and
vertigo, epigastric pain and distension, etc.

GRASPING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed with the belly
of the thumb with index and middle finger or
thumb with the other four fingers lifting and
squeezing the certain part or point of the
body.
It is indicated in headache, neck pain, pain of
the joints of the four limbs, muscular pain

POKING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed by moving
the tendon or ligament from one side to the
other vertically and forcefully with the tip of
thumb, index, middle and ring fingers.
This is indicated in displacement, deviation or
adhesion of tendons due to traumatic injuries,
periarthritis of the shoulderr joint, neck strain,
pain of the back, etc.

RUBBING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed by circular and
rhythmical rubbing on certain points or some
part of the body with the palm or belly of the
fingers driven by the movement of the wrist join.
Its frequency is 120 to 160 times per minute.
It is indicated in chest stuffiness due to Qi
stagnation, abdominal pain due to deficiency
type of cold, constipation, diarrhea,
dysmenorrhea, etc.

PUSHING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed by straight or
clockwise circular pushing in one direction on
the certain area of the body with fingers or
palm.
It is indicated in Bi-syndrome due to wind
dampness, limb pain, soft tissues injuries,
chronic lumbar sprain, all kinds of sprain and
strain of the joints, headache, etc.

It is indicated in stuffiness of chest, diarrhea,
abdominal pain, dizziness, myopia, etc.

SCRUBBING MANIPULATION

Its frequency is 100 to 120 times per minute.
It is indicated in cough, asthma, abdominal
pain and indigestion due to deficiency cold of
the spleen and stomach, swelling and pain
due to injuries of the soft tissues, motor
limitation of the joints, etc.

STRIKING MANIPULATION
A tuina manipulation performed by successive
striking on a certain part or point of the body
