Noises Inside the Freezer

Installation

If you have not owned a Freezer before, you may notice that it makes some rather unusual
noises. Most of these are perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them!

Your freezer should be situated on a solid flat surface. Leave 5 10cm between each side
of the appliance and the wall. Leave 30 cm between the top of the appliance and the wall.

GURGLING, WHOOSHING
These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid in the cooling system. It
has become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC free gases. This is not a fault
and will not affect the performance of your Freezer.

Never place the freezer in a wall recess or into fitted cabinets or furniture. When your freezer
is working,

HUMMING, PURRING OR PULSATING

This is the compressor motor working, as it pumps the refrigerant around the system.

Avoid locating the appliance near a heat source, e.g. cooker, boiler or radiator. Also avoid
direct sunlight. Pull out the bottom panel before installation.

location. The Freezer is delivered to you with the door opening from the left hand side. To
change the opening direction please follow these instructions.

1)

Before connecting the Freezer to the mains supply make sure that the Temperature
Control located inside the Freezer is set to 4, which is the correct setting for use in
a room of average temperature.

2)

Wait 24 hours before placing food in the cabinet to allow for the Freezer to fall to
the correct temperature.

Defrosting
After a period of time frost will build up inside the freezer. Regular defrosting will therefore be
necessary to maintain efficiency. This should be carried out if the frost build up begins to
interfere with the food storage. Choose a time when the stock of frozen food is low and
proceed as follows:
1)

Cleaning Before Use

Wipe the inside of the freezer with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe completely dry before
replacing any shelves or baskets.

2)
3)

Before Using Your Freezer

Take out the frozen food, turn the freezer off at the mains supply and leave the
door open. Ideally the frozen food should be put into another freezer or refrigerator.
To speed up the defrosting process bowls of hot water can be placed inside to raise
the air temperature.
When all traces of ice have been removed and defrosting is completed, clean away
any water and wipe dry.
Clean your Freezer as described below, plug in and switch the Freezer back on,
allowing it time to fall to the correct temperature before replacing food.

Check that you have your power outlet is compatible with the plug supplied with the freezer.

Cleaning the Inside of the Freezer

Always allow 2 hours before turning on the freezer to allow the coolant fluid time to settle
after the freezer is in place.

You should clean the Freezer internally with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe the Freezer
dry before replacing the food. Plug in and switch on the mains supply.

Before placing any food in your freezer, turn the freezer on and wait for 24 hours, to make
sure it is working properly and to allow it to fall to the correct temperature.

Cleaning the outside of the Freezer

Use standard cleaning fluids to clean the freezer exterior. The grille of the condenser at the
back of the Freezer and the adjacent components can be vacuumed using a soft brush
attachment.
