I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

MaNoktok is an environmental friendly livelihood project in partnership with

Aboitiz Foundation and PILMICO pertaining to a poultry farm aiming to reduce waste to
zero percent. Zero waste management is an insight to find an efficient way that is
economical and visionary, to guide people in reducing their wastes and to become the
key into a naturally disposal method using society through composting, where other nonbiodegradable wastes are collected and manufactured for future uses.

II. PROJECT RATIONALE

In the community, a lot of problems occur, one of the major problems that
should be addressed is the unemployment rate of the settlers in that certain barangay.
The most devastating economic conditions in a place is caused by unemployment.
Unemployment affects many aspects of life including social status, standard way of living
and economic growth, one of the greatest enemy of the society that should be given
1

attention immediately. Thus, we came up with the project proposal in order to aid this
existing obstacle.
Also, surveying the community, we have noticed a lot of waste rampant in the
said area. Aboitiz foundation, an eco-friendly foundation seeks to help reduce the said
phenomenon.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Establishing a ZERO-WASTE Livelihood Poultry in barangay Napindan wherein the

employees are the jobless citizens themselves is the focus of the project. Since poultry
farming touches the food component of Aboitiz core businesses, a firm partnership
with PILMICO is a core asset for the proper training of the people involved, supply of the
initial 300 chicks to be raised, and the insurance of a safe and reliable source of
sustainable for the chicken.
With the cooperation of the LGU, a poultry house will be built which will eventually
supply the community and the city market with fresh eggs for the first phase, and
eventually meat for the second phase.
Considering the communitys lack of concern for the environment, a zero-waste
poultry challenges their attitude towards cleanliness. The waste produced by the chicken
will be processed to become compost fertilizer that can be donated to the community
farm and the excess can be sold along with the eggs and
