Assumptions:

Self weight is auto calculated in the software using general material densities
Knee bracing distance in the portal brace hasnt been mentioned, so those have been assumed to be
1.5m distance horizontally and vertically.
1.5m
1.5m

ISMB 200 has been assumed for knee brace while ISMB 400 for rest of the structure.
DL, SIDL and cross girder LL has been compared in this report. For further detailed study, the model has
been attached with the report.

Result Comparisons:
1) Self Weight:

Shear Force (t)

5.19
5.21

Mid Bending Moment (t-m)

6.9
6.94

Difference due to difference in densities of material. These could be referred in the model.

2) SIDL:

Shear Force (t)

1.45

Mid Bending Moment (t-m)

1.92
1.93

End moments are considered as 0 in manual calculations, while these are considered as minor
values in midas Civil. Hence difference. Could be considered as 0 if required.

3) Live Load:

Mid Bending Moment (t-m)

24.18
24.32

As it could be noted, if the end moments are released for the cross beam, the mid moment would
become 24.18+0.13 = 24.31 tm
This report has been generated using the midas Civil Dynamic report generator feature and is capable of
