PAINT SHOP

I have started from paint shop and I have talked to the head of the department there. As my
questions were in different sections and we have to go to different departments to check that how
they are doing their work so I have asked him questions he talked me very politely and answered
me everything.
He told me that there are two type of cleaning floor cleaning and equipment cleaning. Equipment
cleaning is decided on the check sheets in that they have prepared a time table for it as the tank
of paint is cleaned once in a month some things will be cleaned in half yearly some are to be
cleaned yearly so the frequency is decided by the head of the department according to the need.
Floor cleaning is done on regular basis and it is cleaned by the cleaning machine.
No registers/records are maintained for the floor cleaning
Now in Disposal there are two things ETP (equipment treatment plant) and Sludge Pit. The ETP
is separate and segregate process and In the sludge pit the pit is filled with water it is used in the
paint shop the chemicals are mixed up in water and those chemicals are hazardous for anyone so
after some time before disposal they collect that hazardous chemical water and re treat it with
equipment to make it usefulthey use that water for gardening purpose so this is good that
company is re using its water waste.
For the proper ventilation they have made the cooling ducts on every floor of department and as
o

at this time the temperature was 45 - 46oand I was not feeling hot there so I think the temperature
is maintained properly.
Now for the Overcrowding I think that the paint shop is very big area and the employees and
workers are only 27 and there are 5 contract basis workers so there are only 32 people and area
was too big so I think there is no overcrowding
Proper light is provided to workers the company has skylights and also they have the tube lights
and halogens mainly the workers work from 9.00 to 6:30 so at that time there is proper lighting
and at time of rainy season they have mercury tube lights installed in the plant.
Water cooler is provided to the workers and they have cool drinking water facility
There is one toilet in the department and three urinals and one for women and one for male in
b/w weld shop and paint shop.
No spittoons are there.

STORE
Now to the store department I have talked to the supervisor he told me that there are many racks
and I have checked it too there are many racks because one car needs 1100 parts and by
assembling those 1100 parts the car is made so they have to keep them in store.

The store and the racks are cleaned on daily basis. There are 4 workers employed for cleaning
the racks and the parts stored in the racks too because if the part is not clean than it would be
rejected the company has capacity to store the parts for 70 cars as the production is going on
daily basis so they have store a big amount of equipments.
Things come on daily basis and the cardboard packing is putted in scrap there are two type of
racks Separate Rack System and the HDR (heavy Duty Rack System).
Water cooler was available and the waste water is to be drained.
The store have 16 associated and 10 casuals
Proper lighting was there and no problem of lighting.
No Spittoons are Available there

I had applied for Summer Internship in Eicher Polaris Pvt Ltd in Kukas, Jaipur (Rajasthan).
They dont provide summer Internship program to everyone. Only selected candidates get chance
to do summer Internship in that plant.

It was the first day of my Internship
I met my HR Ms. Snigdha Shukla she told me the information about the company and told me
that what will me my basic duties and rules that I have to follow during daily work
She told me that my Reporting Authority will be Mr. Girish Goyal the IR Head and I have to
Work under him.
I met Mr. Girish Goyal he asked me many question related to my studies as like what things
come under HR, How many departments are there in plant, Maslow needs Theory.
Then he told me that I have to work as a comparator on the topic:1

To check the employee Satisfaction.

I will appreciate doing the work on this topic so he told me that I have to work on employee
satisfaction as well as I have to help him in various activities related to the company.
All the employees as well as the workers are very cooperative they never treat me as a new
comer or as a intern they treat me like as I was there for a long time and they obey me too.
My Boss was also a very cooperative person he help me in doing every work and tell me my
errors too.
He told me how I have to do the survey/observation he told me that I have to check the laws by
the section and chapters in the book so he told me that I have to take one chapter that is health in

that the cleanness and the rules regarding the water facility, toilets, working area, spittoons and
other will come so he told me that I have to go to different departments and check the every
section there by so I have rechecked my questionnaire and entered some more questions and my
boss has checked it too.
Now I have taken printout of my questionnaire and started my survey started collecting data
from different departments on the base of the points I have made
I have made a questionnaire on health, safety, welfare then I have started survey on it. I have
interacted with workers as well as the associates of the company. These questionnaires are based
on the factory laws of Rajasthan. According to these laws all the sections I have applied in the
questionnaire. These sections play a vital role in the company under health, safety, and welfare.

Is the factory clean as required under section 11 ?

=) Yes, cleaning is done on regular basis. There are two types of cleaning floor cleaning and
equipment cleaning. Accumulation of dirt is being removed daily by sweeping.

Are the proper arrangements done for disposal of water and effluents as per sections 12?

=) Somehow, the proper arrangements are done for disposal of cleaning cloth of leakage of
oil is disposed in dustbin.
Suggestions: - I would suggest that cloth should be disposed by burning the cloth.

Are the workmen in factory not over crowed is required in section 15?

=) No, because the shift changes of very workers. There are 3 shifts of workers in factory.

Is there sufficient lighting in the factory as required in section 17?

=) Yes, in assembly shop the lights are sufficient. There are natural as well as artificial lights.

Does the factory have drinking water facility for the workers?

=) Yes, the water facility is required for the workers. The TDS of water quality is checked
every 2 months.

Are there sufficient latrine and urinals in the factory and the conditions in as required
under section 19?

=) There is 1 bathroom in which 1 urinals is there. More than 100 employee and workers use
1 bathroom.

Suggestions: - According to factory laws if more than two hundreds or fifty workers are
working there should be all urinals and latrine accommodation shall be prescribed sanitary
types. The company should increase the quantity of urinals and latrine.
