under the asphalt concrete and under the cement bound layer and the compressive strain on the subgrade.
Figure C3 and C4 shows the influence of construction traffic and purpose of providing sub-base.
Figure D3 shows the permissible tensile strain at the bottom of the asphalt concrete and compressive strain on the subgrade.
Figure 5 is the design curve to determine the thickness of the asphalt concrete and aggregate base (sub-base thickness is fixed of
225mm; which can be considered equivalent to 175mm Base).
