CHAPTER 1
GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE METHOD OF
DYNAMIC ELECTRONEUROSTIMULATION
One of the conditions for recovery is the desire to get better
Seneca
Health is the natural protective capacity, which provides physical, mental and social wellbeing throughout one's life.
But, unfortunately, to maintain a high level of health in modern conditions is quite difficult.
Beginning with birth our body is under pressure from powerful aggressive natural and
anthropogenic factors. The quality of food and constant stress, and many of the habits of
a modern lifestyle often do not contribute to improving and maintaining health.
As a result of the many adverse effects, protective and adaptive capabilities of the
organism, which are in fact the foundation of our health, are depleted and the body cannot
adapt in a high quality to the conditions of the world and cannot protect itself from disease.
And in the case of illness the weakened body cannot on its own, without assistance, fully
recover, and illness seizes a person for many years, sometimes for life. In such a situation
there is only one way to get drastic help - to improve one's own protective potential. As a
result, the body will recover the functioning of its own organs and systems and get rid of
the disease.
That is the problem - the restoration and improvement of health - that is successfully
solved by physiotherapy treatments based on the use of various natural factors. One of
the leading contemporary physiotherapists, MD, Professor VS Ulashchik wrote: "... the
preservation of human health is possible with a natural way of life, and restoration of
impaired health and prevention of diseases - by using natural treatments. These
therapeutic agents include natural and man-made (preformed) physical factors of the
environment, which physiotherapy studies."
It is appropriate to note that similar approaches to the restoration of health are not unique
to modern researchers. Physiotherapy as a method of healing originated in the mists of
time. Doctors of ancient Greece and Rome actively used natural curative factors in their
practices. This is also evidenced by the works of a brilliant scientist and physician In Sina
(Avicenna), which summarize the experience of the Byzantine physicians on the use of
sun, air and water baths for healing the body and treating disease.
In the 18th century, with the development of science and application of our life sources of
electricity, physiotherapy was given a new direction - electrotherapy. Particularly active
electrotherapy starts to develop after the discovery by L. Galvani of "animal electricity"bioelectric activity of living cells.
More recent studies in this area have allowed us to study the nature and type of the
electrical activity of living tissues. In the 1950s, it was technically possible to reproduce
the electrical impulses that are similar in their parameters to the impulses of the nerve
fiber. They are safe and physiological, therefore they actively begin to be used in medicine
for treatment purposes. Treatment with such "live" pulses was called percutaneous
electroneurostimulation (PENS). Due to the pronounced analgesic effect, PENS
machines very quickly gained wide popularity.
In the 1960s, there are advanced PENS machines in which by the formation of pulses the
biological principle of "feedback" was realized.
The new models create not just a "neural" momentum, they can be responsive to the
changes occurring in the body during treatment. This improvement leads to the fact that
the range of therapeutic possibilities of these devices is considerably increased. They are
successfully used for pain relief, correction of functional disorders of the internal organs,
for fast recovery of performance under high psychological and physical stress.
Electrical stimulators with biofeedback devices are proto-types of the first dynamic
electrioneurostimulation (DENS).
At the beginning of the 21st century in Russia a number of experimental and clinical
studies were carried out, which served as the basis for the application of new technology
vehicles. Thanks to the research and the developed plans for use, dynamic
electroneurostimulation is registered as an independent and highly effective method of
treatment of various diseases.
It is important that the principles underlying the method allowed DENS to develop in two
ways - as a professional method that can be successfully used in the practice of doctors
of various specialties, and as a method of "home" physiotherapy.
The special design and usability of the devices, simple rules for choosing the treatment
zones and treatment modes allow people who do not have special medical education to
successfully carry out the procedure at home, helping you and your family cope with
diseases.
Fundamental and clinical research on the effectiveness of the DENS method has been
conducted since 1999. The results of these studies are constantly published in peer reviewed journals, reported annually in the Russian and international congresses. Just in
the last three years at medical conferences and symposia, as well as in medical journals
were more than 60 papers presented on the effectiveness of the DENS method in various
diseases.
Thanks to this research in more than 200 research centers in Russia and abroad the
validity of the clinical effectiveness of DENS in treating patients with diseases of the
cardiovascular system, the musculoskeletal system, injuries, gynecological and urological
diseases has been determined. The effectiveness of the method in the complex treatment
of patients with a surgical, ophthalmic profile is shown and positive results in the treatment
of diseases of respiratory system and the digestive system obtained. The accumulated
experience of effective application of DENS in a wide range of neurological diseases. A
number of papers indicate un-conditional suitability of DENS as an effective component
of comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programs in pediatrics.
In 2005, the method of dynamic electroneurostimulation received official recognition and
was registered as an independent medical technology with its unparalleled
methodological support and range of devices.
DENS application, in conjunction with other treatments, as well as a separate method of
recovery, facilitates positive dynamics in many acute and chronic diseases. The use of
machines to speed up the healing process, reduces the pharmacological stress on the
body and contributes to the rapid restoration of health.
The impact of DENS medical devices with their pulses causes changes in organs and
tissues. Several levels of health reactions are identified: local, segmental and general
(general regulatory).
Local reactions are metabolic changes in the skin and deeper tissue located directly at
the device treatment site. And the selection of biologically active substances and
excitation of a large number of nerve receptors are observed. Local effects include:
analgesic, trophic (healing), decongestant, anti-inflammatory.
Excitation in response to stimulation of skin zones is distributed along the nerve fibers, is
transformed into the corresponding segments of the spinal cord and is transmitted to
organs and tissues - and segmental reactions develop. This type of reaction provides a
variety of therapeutic effects and allows restoration of the function of internal organs,
muscles, strengthens regional blood flow and so on. Segmental effects include analgesic,
antispasmodic, vascular, and inflammatory effects. There is normalization of motility of
the gastrointestinal tract and improved urodynamics.
Low-intensity pulsed currents from exposure to DENS devices launches the development
of general regulatory reactions. The general analgesic effects include, vascular (e.g.,
stabilization of blood pressure), the correction of hormonal and endocrine disorders. That
is, the general reaction ensures the stability of therapeutic effects, allowing one to deal
with the effects of stress and are based of the use of DENS prophylactic devices.
The set of universal (non-specific) reactions in response to the DENS-impact are
characteristic of any mode of the devices. It ensures the development of a number of
therapeutic effects, the main ones are: anesthetic, vascular, trophic, anti-inflammatory,
anti-stress.
At the same time, each frequency or mode of DENS devices have their own peculiarities
(specificity) of action. Use in specific situations of different frequencies and modes of
stimulation can increase the intensity of a therapeutic effect.
That is why today the lineup of devices DENS presented as universal models are used in
a wide range of diseases, as well as specialized models with automatic or semi-automatic
programs designed to treat specific diseases.
We should always remember that the essence of recovery from any illness is a selfhealing body. And any treatment - surgery, medication, physical therapy - is nothing more
than help in the fight against the disease.
Some treatments are aimed at addressing the causes of the disease, others - to help
control the disease, eliminate painful symptoms, reducing the risk of complications. There
are also methods that can significantly improve the body's own protective potential and,
consequently, stimulate self-healing processes. These methods are inherently universal,
because their spheres of influence are non-specific defense mechanisms.
DENS is one of those universal health methods. It can be used successfully in adults and
children in the treatment of a wide range of diseases. Due to the large number of proven
therapeutic effects the DENS method has broader applicability and can be used
successfully in combination with other therapeutic agents, and as monotherapy:
-
During the acute phase and during early recovery from various diseases for
correction of functional disorders and to reduce the severity of complaints;
At all stages of rehabilitation of acute and chronic diseases;
As a means of primary prevention in order to increase non-specific protective and
adaptive reserves of the body;
As a preventive measure to reduce the risk of many acute diseases and the
prevention of exacerbations of chronic diseases.
Depending on the objectives of treatment, DENS can be used for various diseases and
syndromes in order to obtain an analgesic, antispasmodic, vascular, inflammatory, trophic
and general regulatory effects.
The DENS method has no age limits, and its use is indicated for adults and children:
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Ne quid nimis .
In some situations, the use of any methods of physiotherapy requires certain restrictions.
In comparison with other methods of physical therapy DENS has a small number of
contraindications. They can be divided into two categories - absolute and relative.
Absolute - a situation in which the product should not be applied. Relative - a condition in
which the use of DENS may be limited. The possibility of using vehicles in these cases is
determined by the physician.
Absolute:
At the end of this chapter it will be relevant to note that today, more than a million people
use DENS devices in practice. This interest is due to a number of advantages that see to
it that dynamic electroneurostimulation occupies a special place among the various
therapeutic agents and methods used in the treatment of diseases. And because without
this description of the method it would be incomplete we cite the most characteristic of
them below.
1.
DENS devices have a wide range of therapeutic effects and have a healing
effect on all body systems. They can be used in treatment of various diseases.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
This is especially important for people who are often ill or have a chronic
illness.
There are very few DENS contraindications to use, virtually no side effects
when using the devices, excluded is intoxication and there is the negligible
probability of any allergic reactions and overdose effects.
DENS is a method that is suitable for use at any age. DENS devices can also
be used in infants and the elderly.
Thanks to the feedback pulse of DENS its characteristics change depending
on the individual characteristics and the patient's response, which prevents
reduction of sensitivity of the body to the therapeutic modality and ensures that
it maintains high efficiency throughout, even over a long course of treatment.
In contrast to drug therapy and many other medical methods of DENS has
general restorative influence. This allows you to successfully use the device
not only as a therapeutic agent, but also as a prophylactic measure - to reduce
the likelihood of acute diseases and the prevention of exacerbations of chronic
diseases.
The performance of DENS procedures does not require special conditions, the
treatment can be carried out practically everywhere: in hospitals, at home, in
the country. DENS devices are compact and can accompany you on a journey.
The total therapeutic effect of individual procedures also ensures the long-term
effect of the course of treatment, which continues at its end. Often long-term
results are even more significant than the direct ones. Therefore, when using
the devices there is no need for constant use, and re-treatment is
advantageously carried out at regular intervals, as needed, focusing on the
health and well-being.
The cost of treatment with DENS devices is relatively low, and in their
effectiveness in many respects they are not inferior to other therapeutic agents.

DENS MEDICAL
TECHNOLOGY
Treat not a disease but a sick person.
S.P. Botkin
Specialized devices can assist in the treatment of specific dis-eases. Unlike universal
models, specialized models have a large degree of automation, require little or no presets.
They are simple and convenient.
stimulation based on individual response, as well as to search for latent trigger zones,
which allows for the creation of individual treatment regimens.
In addition, the "Test" mode is used in the MED treatment and prevention program
(program of minimum effective dose). This automated program allows you to specify the
minimum sufficient exposure time required for the development of resistant physiological
effect not only on the local, but also at the system level.
The "Test" mode is used to render a general regulatory action fora wide range of illnesses.
In addition, the "Test" mode is used as an expert (diagnostic) mode allowing
determination of additional treatment zones to increase the efficiency of the sessions.
The MED program is indicated for use as a component of complex treatment regimens
and for prevention of problems such as chronic fatigue syndrome, meteosensitivity; as
nonspecific prophylaxis during the epidemic rise of respiratory diseases; in order to
increase nonspecific adaptation reserves during the action of various stressors, etc.
SCREENING MODE
stable methods - when processing large-area zones. For example, for damage to the
visual, hearing and ENT areas a stable method is almost always used to treat DPZ zones.
For damage to the lower respiratory tract, when the need arises for treatment over vast
areas of the skin, the method used most often is the labile method.
The direction of the movement of the machine is significant. For example, in the treatment
of direct projection of the intestine treatment is carried out taking into account the nature
of peristalsis and the stool. In some cases, the physiological characteristics of the
functioning of the body are also considered. For example, for lactostasis and hypogalactia
the breast is treated toward the nipple, in diseases of the urinary system complex the
"kidney - ureter - bladder" are treated with the normal urodynamics. Treatment on different
areas of the DPZ is set out in more detail in chapter 3.
The "Therapy" mode is recommended for treatment of the DPZ with a choice of
frequencies from 60 to 200 Hz.
With damage to one of the paired organs or body parts DENS is carried out both on the
affected side, and the symmetric section. The symmetrical area is treated in the "Therapy"
mode at a frequency of 10 or 20 Hz.
To increase the effectiveness of the treatment of direct projection of the complaint, it can
be treated further in the "Therapy" mode with a choice of frequencies from 1 to 9.9 Hz.
The performance of DENS in particular on the dermatome area helps restore the normal
operation of the corresponding segment of the spinal cord, sympathetic ganglia and nerve
plexus. This in turn leads not only to improvement of the affected organ, but also has a
beneficial effect on the functional activity of organs and structures having the general
innervation to this segment.
Segmental innervation zones (segmental zones) are treated to enhance and stabilize the
therapeutic effect in acute illness and exacerbation of chronic diseases.
There are several equivalent treatment options for segmental zones:
1.
2.
The selected segmental zone is treated with a labile, labile- stable or stable
method at first in the area of the interspinous gaps (in the spinal projection)
and then along the paravertebral line at the appropriate level. Selection of the
level of treatment is determined based on the localization of the direct
projection of the complaint (see Fig. 2.2)
In practice, a fairly simple way of treating segmental zones is often used when,
after treatment in the direct projection of the complaint, the corresponding
dermatome region with a width of about one hand on the level of complaints
(com-plaints segment) is treated. For example, for diseases of the liver the
back to mid lines on the D6-D10 level is treated, and for colds the "cervical
ring" at the level of C1-C4 (fig. 2.3), etc.
Fig. 2.. Segmental zones recommended for treatment depending on localization of the
direct complaint projection (DPZ):
A - with localization of the DPZ in the area of the head and upper extremities; B - with
localization of the DPZ in the area of the chest;
C - with localization of the DPZ in the area of the abdomen;
D - with localization of the DPZ in the area of the pelvis, abdomen and lower extremities
Segmental zones are included in the treatment regimen, together with the zone of direct
projection of the complaint and processed using the built-in or external electrodes
(electrode applicator, massage electrodes and so forth.).
Treatment of segmental areas in the "Therapy" mode, combining low and high frequency
ranges, as well as the combined or "Test" is recommended.
Common areas of action (universal zones) are treated to obtain general regulatory (tonic,
adaptogenic) effect in the non-localized complaints and there are many equivalent
localized complaints. It is encouraged to include these areas in the treatment regimen to
improve the efficiency of sessions for patients with chronic illnesses, as well as in the
period of rehabilitation.
Zones and points of common action with non-localized complaints or a large number of
equivalent localized complaints are treated.
Treatment is recommended in the "Therapy" mode using low frequencies, the combined
or "Test" mode.
1. Cervical area zone
The upper limit of the cervical zone (CS) runs along the back hairline. The lower - on a
horizontal line at the level of the shoulder blades. Lateral boundaries are the lateral
surface of the neck, shoulder and shoulder girdle (Fig. 2.4.).
Features of treatment
In diseases of the cardiovascular system treatment is performed at the minimum power
level. For a tendency to high blood pressure treatment is carried out in the direction from
the neck to the shoulder blades, for a tendency to hypotension - in the opposite direction.
2. Lumbosacral zone
The upper limit of the lumbosacral area (LS) is at the level of the tenth thoracic vertebra.
Lower - at the level of the coccyx (Fig. 2.5).
Features of treatment
Treatment of the DPZ is most frequently performed in a stable- labile manner. As a rule,
begin treatment of the spine at the upper boundary of the zone, gradually moving into the
lower parts. Then similarly treat the paravertebral and lateral (side) region.
3. Paravertebral zones
The upper limit is the back of the neck at the level of 1 st-2nd cervical vertebra
(approximately at the level of the bottom of the hairline). The lower boundary is located
at the level of the coccyx (Fig. 2.6).
Features of treatment
Treatment of paravertebral zones can be done in two ways - labile and stable. Using the
stable method of treatment the electrode is alternately set at a distance of 1-2 cm on the
left and right of the spine, starting from the top sections and gradually moving down.
4.
The upper limit of the zone - the level of the lower edge of the cubital fossa. The lower
boundary - fingertips.
Features of treatment
In case of disruption of venous or lymphatic drainage, especially in the presence of
swollen limbs a stable method of application should be used. Treatment should begin with
the fingertips, gradually moving in the direction of the elbow joint (Fig. 2.7).
If it affects the arteries of the upper extremities treatment in a labile-stable manner is
recommended. In this case, treatment should begin in the upper border zone (the elbow)
and gradually move towards the electrodes of the fingertips (Fig. 2.7). Similarly it is
possible to treat the zones with the disease that are not accompanied by severe disorders
of the blood-circulation in the limbs.
5.
Trigeminal zone
"Points" of the exit of the trigeminal nerve branch are located on the face (Fig. 2.8.
-
The first pair of points (upper branch) - in the brow area, close to the bridge of the
nose,
The second pair of points (middle branch) - outwards from the nostrils of the nose
to the infraorbital region,
A third pair of points (lower branch) - on the same vertical corners of the mouth, at
the lower edge of the mandible.
Features of treatment
Treatment is conducted with built-in electrodes using the stable method. The points are
processed in pairs in "Therapy" mode or "Test" mode, beginning with the projection of the
exit of the up-per branch.
7.
Paired zone. It is located in the posterior surface of the body, to the left and right of the
spine at the level of the 11th - 12th thoracic vertebrae (Fig. 2.10).
It is widely used for chronic inflammatory diseases and allergic processes.
8.
The upper and lower borders of the liver are projected onto the anterolateral surface of
the trunk in the right sections of the epigastric abdominal area (Fig. 2.11). The intestine
is projected onto the anterior abdominal wall in the lower sections of the abdomen (Fig.
2.12).
Treatment is recommended to increase the effectiveness of the course of treatment in
metabolic disorders and inflammatory diseases.
9.
Zone of the 7th cervical vertebra (Da Chui projection point (VG 14))
The zone is located between the spinous processes of the 7th cervical and first thoracic
vertebrae. The seventh is the lowest cervical vertebra and it is easily detectable in the
lower part of the neck (Fig. 2.13).
It is used for allergic and inflammatory diseases.
10.
Paired zone located at the back of the hand in the area between the 1st and 2nd
metacarpal bones (Fig. 2.14).
It is used for diseases of the nervous system, digestive organs, allergic, inflammatory
processes, diseases of the, pains in the facial area. This treatment is recommended to
reduce the risk of colds during epidemics.
11.
The paired zone located on the inside of the forearm, approximately 3 cm above the
radiocarpal fold (fig. 2.14).
Stimulation of the point ensures a soft sedative effect. It is used in the treatment of disease
of the thoracic organs (lungs, heart, pericardium) as well as hypertension, lesions of the
digestive organs, accompanied by dyspepsia manifestations (heartburn, etc.), pains and
cramps in the elbow and shoulder areas.
12.
The paired zone located on the outside of the forearm, approximately 3 cm above the
radiocarpal fold (fig. 2.14).
The point is used to obtain a soft overall tonic effect. It has a stabilizing effect on the work
of the cardiovascular system, therefore it is recommended in the treatment of
meteosensitivity, vegetative dystonia syndrome, headache, lesions of the cervical and
lumbar sections of the spine, diseases of the hearing organ (hearing loss, inflammatory
diseases), eye lesions, sleep disorders.
13.
Pair zone. Located under the lower edge of the patella on the line passing through the
outer edge of the patella (Fig. 2.14).
Has a wide scope of application: in diseases of the digestive, respiratory and
cardiovascular systems, for insomnia, for nervous system lesions. As a common area of
action it is treated prophylactically for intense physical and mental work, chronic fatigue
syndrome and insomnia.
14.
Pair zone. Located on the inner surface of the tibia posterior to the tibia above the medial
malleolus (Fig. 2.14) by about 2-3 cm (3 cun).
Stimulation of this area is carried out to normalize the functions of the pelvic organs,
improve the general condition, normalization of hormonal status and water-salt
metabolism in diseases of the reproductive organs in men and women (infertility,
inflammation), and for menopausal syndrome, kidney diseases, digestive disorders,
hypertension, and insomnia.
TRIGGER ZONES
Pathological changes in the internal organs that occur during illness are often
accompanied by the appearance in the skin, subcutaneous fat or muscle of local sites
with altered properties of trigger zones. The search for triggers is essential to determine
the most effective stimulation zones. In practice, the impact on the trigger points is used
to enhance the therapeutic effect of DENS procedures.
Trigger zones are identified in the area of direct projection of the affected organ, in the
projection reflex zones, in the segmental zones, in zones of mini-acupuncture compliance
systems.
A key sign of trigger zones is their difference from neighboring or symmetrical areas. It is
customary to distinguish active and latent trigger points. Active trigger points are easily
detected during examination or during the course of the session and have the following
characteristics:
-
areas
15, 12, 18, 14, 32, 17, 16, 18, 24. In this example, the latent trigger area is one in which
the ALT value = 32 (Figure 2.15).
The detected trigger points are treated in the "Therapy" mode at frequencies of 60 or 77
Hz for 5-10 minutes.
Time of stimulation of one point on average is 1-3 minutes. The number of procedures
per day and the duration of the course using AP is determined individually.
Zones are craniopuncture strips (lines) with a width of 0.5 cm and a length of 2 to 8 cm.
The location of craniopuncture for most zones is determined with respect to two lines the sagittal and horizontal. The sagittal line connects the point WM3 (Yin-tang) and the
tip of the external occipital ridge. The horizontal line starts from a point WM3, passes
through the upper edge of the eyebrows and ends at the external occipital ridge. The
system of international nomenclature, in contrast to previous descriptions of topography
lines, is correlated with the localization of points of standard acupuncture channels.
During treatment in the scalp zone with DENS devices the "Therapy" mode is used
(frequencies 77, 60, 20 or 10 Hz). Stimulation can be conducted both by a zonal
electrode, built in to the device (in this case the hair needs to be parted), and by an
external electrode needle.
It is recommended that treatment in the scalp zones be conducted for diseases of the
central nervous system, peripheral nerve lesions, acute and chronic pain syndromes of
different origin and localization.

MS14 inferolateral occipital line. Indications: cerebellar ataxia.
In order to choose the most effective zones, modes and duration of treatment, before a
session a survey and examination of the patient should be performed to identify the
leading symptom complex - the "main" complaint.
According to the survey results, when you can clearly define the system of organs or body
part with the largest lesions, complaints are classified as localized. Treatment should
begin on the direct complaint project zone (DPZ) and corresponding segmental zones. If
localized complaints are determined for a paired part of the body or organ, additional
treatment must be performed in the area of the symmetrical direct complaint projection
(see 2.20).
In cases where you can not clearly identify the target organ and there are only
impairments of the general condition, or at the same time there are some disruptions in
the work of the organs and systems, complaints are classified as non-localized. The
therapeutic session begins with treatment of the general action zones (Fig. 2.20).
In determining the number of zones that are treated in the session, you should follow the
rule of minimum adequacy of treatment. During the session from 1 to 3 zones are treated.
Increasing the number of zones does not lead to greater efficiency and longer duration of
the session is tiring for the patient, which may reduce the effect of the procedures.
If localized complaints are determined for a paired part of the body or organ,
additional treatment is performed in the area, symmetric direct complaint
projection.
For non-localized complaints common areas of action are treated in the
session.
In the majority of cases no more than 2-3 zones (1 -2 main zones and 1-2 zones
to enhance the therapeutic effect) are treated in a session.
To increase the effectiveness of medical treatments for localized and non-localized
complaints treatment of additional zones is conducted and a subsonic frequency range
and combination regimens are used. In order to potentiate (enhance) the therapeutic
effects, DENS is combined with other methods (fig. 2.21).
cases, significant results are already evident after 8-12 procedures, in more severe cases
14-20 procedures may be needed to achieve persistent positive changes.
The total therapeutic effect of individual procedures also ensures the long-term effect of
the course of treatment, which continues at its end. Long-term results are often even more
important than immediate ones. Therefore, in most cases there is no need for constant
use of the devices, and refresher courses are held at intervals of two weeks to 1-2 months,
that is, on demand.

devices (endoprostheses, llizarov apparatus and others) is not a
contraindication for the use of DENS.
An individual treatment plan (number and duration of procedures, course) must
be designed for each patient. Zones and modes of impact are selected with
consideration of the severity and localization of the lesion, as well as with
consideration of concomitant diseases of other organs and systems.
DENS procedures can and should be performed in a number of cases "on
demand"
Large joints (hip, knee, shoulder, elbow) are treated on three sides, excluding
the flexor surface of the joint. Small joints of the hands and feet, wrists and
ankles are treated on four sides.
With simultaneous damage to multiple joints (polyarthritis, polyarthrosis) at
most two major joints are treated in one procedure. Treatment of several small
joints of the hands and feet is permitted during a session.
The area of the swollen joint is treated in a stable manner - the device is
rearranged from the bottom up. In the remaining cases treatment can be
performed in labile, stable and labile-stable manners.
The ultimate goal of a course of DENS treatment is to achieve pain relief,
improved blood and lymph circulation, which ultimately leads to the complete
or partial (with severe lesions) restoration of joint function.

An individual session plan is designed for each patient. The amount and
duration of the procedures, zones and modes of action are determined
according to the severity, localization of impairments, as well as damage to
other organs and systems.
The cervical area is treated, with consideration of the blood pressure (BP) level
and the presence / absence of intracranial hypertension. In the case of high or
normal BP and with intracranial hypertension the CS is treated with a labilestable method from the neck to the shoulder blades, at a frequency of 77 Hz
or in the "7710" mode. With low BP - in the opposite direction at a frequency
of 77 Hz or in the "77AM" mode.
After a stroke or traumatic brain injury the inclusion is recommended as early
as possible in complex treatment for quick rehabilitation and to prevent the
development of complications. NO treatment of the head is performed in the
acute phase of hemorrhagic stroke.
Training of patients and their families on the basic rules and techniques of
DENS for procedures at home is necessary.
Preservation or worsening of neurological symptoms, insufficient pronounced
analgesic effect of DENS can be signs of a previously unknown disease. In
these situations, consultation with a specialist is mandatory.
The ultimate goal of a course of treatment with DENS is to relieve or decrease
the severity of pain, normalize muscle tone and improve blood circulation,
which helps to prevent possible complications and accelerates the recovery
process.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

6.
The endocrine system is one of the main systems of regulation and affects all
body systems. Therefore, endocrine diseases come in many guises and can
lead not only to a dysfunction of any organ, but multiple disorders of organs
and systems. In the treatment of endocrine disorders there is a particularly
important principle - don't treat the disease, treat the person.
DENS in endocrine diseases is conducted to obtain a general regulatory effect,
but we should not forget that the most important task is to correct the disorders
that occur as a result of the development of complications from the disease. In
some cases, this is of paramount importance, since it allows us to greatly
improve the quality of life.
The plan for use of the device is tailored to the specific complaints of the patient
at the time treatment is conducted. Thus, for example, among patients with the
same diagnosis - diabetes - general health, complications of the disease and
the severity of the impairments are very unique.
In many cases, DENS is a component of a comprehensive treatment and
should be combined with drug therapy prescribed by the doctor.
To talk about the possibilities and the need for use of DENS in thyroid disease,
you must be examined by an endocrinologist.
Treatment with the device is NOT recommended in direct thyroid gland
projection for hyperthyroidism, nodular goiter as well as an unknown diagnosis.

Universal zones (common action). (CS, LSP, paravertebral zones, etc.). These
zones of organ innervation have a high hormonal activity. They are treated to
obtain a general regulatory effect in the majority of endocrine diseases.
Epigastric and left hypochondrium areas. Direct pancreas projection. It is
treated in diseases accompanied by inflammation and impaired secretory
function of the pancreas.
Cervical zone- as the main zone in diseases of the thyroid gland.
Zones of direct organ projection, whose function is broken as a result of the
development of complications of the underlying disease. For example,
paraorbital zones in diabetic retinopathy (damage to the retina), the lower
extremities in diabetic polyneuropathy, etc.
Segmental zones.
Reflex zones: Su Jok correspondence zones, auricular points, zones of the
scalp.
Zones of amplification of systemic effect: Hegu, Zusanli, 7th cervical vertebra,
2nd cervical vertebra.

DENS FOR DISEASES OF THE URINARY TRACT
ORGANS
GENERAL PROVISIONS
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
In acute cases, accompanied by fever and/or acute abdominal pain and back
pain, with acute urinary retention, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
DENS is considered an adjunctive treatment method.
Zones of direct urinary tract organs (kidneys, ureters, bladder) projection are
treated bilaterally even in the case of unilateral damage. Treatment is
conducted with consideration of the normal urodynamics: we begin to treat the
area of the kidneys, gradually moving through the lateral surface of the body
(along the course of the ureters) to the suprapubic region (the projection of the
bladder).
For Urolithiasis treatment in frontal projection of the kidneys and ureters is
carried out only in an emergency - in case of renal colic.
In the case of an attack of renal colic treatment is carried out with the device
in a direct projection of the kidneys and urinary tracts as first aid for the relief
of pain.
For autoimmune diseases of the kidneys (glomerulonephritis, systemic
connective tissue disease) DENS is performed after consulting your doctor.
The ultimate goal of the DENS course of treatment is correction of
urodynamics, improvement of regional blood circulation and improvement of
the overall condition during rehabilitation.
Projection zone of the kidneys, ureters and bladder. Kidneys are projected in
the lumbar region on the right and left of the spine at the level of the 12th
thoracic to 1st-2nd second lumbar vertebrae. The treatment area of the
projection of one kidney corresponds to the area of one hand of the patient. The
ureters are projected along the spine from the zone of direct projection of the
kidneys to the sacrum. The bladder is projected in the suprapubic region.
Zones are treated in the session as a whole in a labile or labile- stable manner:
first with one hand conduct treatment in the projection to the kidney, then
proceed along the spine (the projection of the corresponding kidney ureter) to
the coccyx and through the lateral surface of the body to the suprapubic region.

In the first minutes after trauma it is necessary to solve the issue of timely
medical attention (going on your own to the emergency room or calling for an
ambulance).
DENS-therapy is conducted as first aid immediately after the injury or when
there is an emergency in order to achieve analgesic, decongestant and
resuscitation effects (taking into account the current emergency situation).
Treatment is not a substitute for the need for specialized medical care, the
performance of an X-ray study, application of immobilization bandages.
The duration of DENS procedures is determined by the scale of the injury, pain
relief, and other manifestations of the emergency condition. It can be from one
minute (minor injury, syncope) up to several hours during the day (fracture,
extensive injuries).
The ultimate goal is to provide first aid, anesthesia, reduction in the times for
restoring the impaired functions.

The most effective use of devices is in the earliest period after surgery (the first
day). From one to several procedures are conducted during the day.
The duration of DENS procedures is determined by the scale of operation, a
reduction in pain and the degree of recovery of disrupted functions.
The ultimate goal - pain relief, reducing the time of treatment.
Pain
DENS Method
The area around the surgical wound. "Therapy" mode at a fre-quency of 200 Hz,

For children under 7 years a minimum power level, must be used in the
procedure.
In most cases, the same treatment zones are used for children as for adults.
But in infants treatment in direct projection of the complaint can often be difficult
because of the negative reaction of the child. To avoid this, during the sessions
it is recommended that the segment zones appropriate to the complaint be
used as a basis.
Among the common areas of action preference should be given to
paravertebral areas, palms, feet and neck and neck area.
The duration of procedures in children depends on age:
for children from 0 to 1 year - 5-10 minutes (2-3 minutes per zone);
for children from 1 to 2 years -10-15 minutes (3-5 minutes per zone);
for children from 3 to 5 years -15-20 minutes (5-6 minutes per zone);

DENS in various forms of pediatric cerebral palsy is carried out to restore the
functions of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nervous system, the
normalization of the psycho-emotional state, correction of muscle tone, speech
disorders, for the treatment of concomitant diseases of internal organs and to
improve the general condition.
DENS procedures in patients with pediatric cerebral palsy are always
performed according to an individual plan, with consideration of the features of
the complaints in a specific patient.
A stable positive result is achieved during a course of treatment. The number
and frequency of courses is determined individually and depends on the
outcome of treatment and disease severity.
The range of therapeutic measures along with DENS include physiotherapy,
massage, psycho-correction, sessions with a speech therapist, medicinal
therapy.

will be located from left to right. The point of the esophagus (AP 85) is located under the
lower edge of the helix leg, under the middle of the first third.
AP 86 - cardiac (gastric cardia)
Localization: under the lower edge of the middle of the second third of the helix leg.
AP 87 - stomach
Localization: actual stomach - this is not the point, but the zone located around the base
of the helix leg, at its transition into the bottom of the ear conch on the border between
the cymba and the ear conch zone.
AP 88 - duodenum
Localization: at the upper edge of the helix leg, above AP 87, along the start of the leg.
AP 89 - small intestine
Localization: at the upper edge of the helix leg, above AP 88, along the leg.
AP 90 - appendix, fourth
Localization: at the upper edge of the helix leg, in the middle between the points of the
large (AP 91) and small (89) intestine.
AP91 - small intestine
Localization: at the upper edge of the helix leg, at its transition into the ascending branch
of the helix, over AP 82.
AP 92 - urinary bladder
Localization: under the lower edge of the lower antihelix leg, over AP 91, behind AP 93.
AP 93 - prostate
Localization: in the corner formed by the ascending part of the helix and the lower edge
of the lower leg of the antihelix, below AP 52 (may be covered by the helix).
AP 94 - ureter
Localization: midway between AP 2 and AP 95.
AP 95 - kidney
Localization: under the lower edge of the lower antihelix leg, under AP 53, over AP 89.
AP 96 - gall bladder (right ear) and pancreas (left ear)
Localization: in the upper-outer corner of the conch cup, above the lower edge of the start
of the lower leg of the antihelix, over AP 88 j
AP 97 - liver
Localization: near the inner edge of the antihelix, below AP 96 on the level of the helix leg
on one side and AP 40 on the other.
AP 98 - spleen
Localization: located only on the left ear outwards and down-wards from AP 87 (stomach
point), at the inner edge of the antihelix under AP 87, almost at the level of AP 39.
API 00- heart, second point
Localization: in the center of the ear conch, at the level of the ear canal, in the concave
part of the ear conch.
AP 101 -lung
Localization: conditionally indicate two points - at 1 mm above and below AP 100, but the
zone of lungs around AP 100 should be almost divided.
API 02- bronchi
Localization: two points at 2 mm from AP 101 toward the ear canal. AP 103- trachea
Localization: at 2 mm from AP 102 in the direction of the ear canal, at the inner edge of
the ear conch, at the level of the middle part of the rear edge of the auditory opening, on
the same horizontal level with AP 100.
