Initial setup for the network connection Client monitor

For the Network connection with Sever PC, user has to set up the below items.
1. Enter the Setup Mode
. Allows the user to configure the Network display.
. Require a numerical password to access.
* If the user has not configured the password,
the default password will be 000000.

2. Change the Options


. Rotation : landscape or Portrait Mode
. EWF( Enhanced Write filter)
* Control write protection of the MagicNet X displays built in storage.
When the EWF is enabled, no changes, files copied, or installed
software will be retained when the display is powered off.

3. TCP/IP, Connection Setup


. Configure the network connection the MagicNet Pro display will be
using. There are two types of network configuration available: DHCP,
and Static
. The user has to match the Sever name with Sever PC

Install the Sever Software on the Sever PC


* Sever Software is included with the MagicNet Pro Display
Run the MagicnetProSetup.exe

Select the language

1. Client Monitor

Using the MagicNet Pro Client Monitor

Player
: Using the Remote control, control the monitor
. Network/Device : View and play the files
. Internet : Internet Explorer
. Setup : Configure the client monitor
None
. Access to the None mode, enter the Alt + F12 keys.
. The user must connect the USB keyboard and USB mouse
in order to use the PC function.
. Click the configuration button on the bottom of the monitor,
the user set the various functions same as Player setup

Scheduler
: Signage Mode
. This mode display the scheduled contents by SeverPC
. When the data is loaded by sever PC and there is no
schedule, the monitor display the logo screen.
. The user can change the logo screen

- This is the home screen of the MagicNet Pro interface. From this screen, the user can view
content, or configure the MagicNet Pro display.
- This screen can be accessed by pressing the MagicNet input button on the MagicNet Pro display infra
red remote control, or by cycling through the inputs using the control panel on the display itself.

Using the MagicNet Pro Client Monitor : Player

Network : select content that is resident on the MagicNet Pro server PC.
* Content must be registered with the MagicNet Pro Server content library for
the MagicNet Pro display to recognize it.
* Photo, Music, Movie, Office/HTML
Device : select content that is resident on the MagicNet Pro display.
* Content may be stored on the internal memory of the MagicNet Pro display,
or be stored on a USB storage device connected to the USB port of the
MagicNet Pro display.

Internet : Use the built in web browser of the MagicNet Pro display.
* The infrared remote control that comes with the display may be used to
navigate the web browser, but it is recommended to connect a USB mouse
and keyboard to the display for easier navigation.

Setup : Configure the MagicNet Pro display.


* This option requires a numerical password to access. If the user has not confi
gured the password, the default password will be 000000.

Photo, Music, Movie, Office/HTML Viewer

When a user selects either Network or Device options, a menu allowing viewing of content will be
available at the bottom portion of the screen, as illustrated below. This menu will allow the user
to view photos, listen to music, watch movies, or open Office files.

Internet
. This browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer. When opened, it will
automatically locate the home page configured in the Setup menus.
. The user may use the directional arrow keys on the remote control
to move the mouse cursor. The Enter key on the remote control
acts as a mouse click. Addresses may be entered using the text
entry capability of the number pad on the remote control.

. Pressing Return will take the user back to the MagicNet


Pro home screen.
. The user may also use a USB mouse and keyboard when
connected, to navigate and enter web addresses.
. The Internet browser will only function when the MagicNet
Pro display is connected to a network with an available
Internet connection, and that connection has been configured
in the Setup menu of the MagicNet Pro interface.

. The Setup menu has several functions. This allows for some basic configuration of the MagicNet Pro
display and its network connection.

Schedule
. Schedule View
. Schedule View allows the user to see, but not edit,
the content schedule currently configured to run on
the MagicNet Pro display
. The grey area on the rights side of the screen will
display the file names, types, start times, end times,
and total files played in an informational display.

TCP/IP
. The TCP/IP screen allows the user to configure the
network connection the MagicNet X display will be using
. There are two types of network configuration
1) DHCP
DHCP refers to a network that automatically assigns a
network (IP) address to computers and devices connected
to it.
2) Static
Static refers to a network that requires each computer or
device have its address information manually programmed
in. If Static is selected, the user can enter the necessary IP
address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS information that
allows the MagicNet Pro display to connect to the network.
* The remote control number pad is used for address entry
into the blanks.
* If the user does not know the address information, the user
may need to consult onsite IT staff.

Connection
1) Server Name
Server Name allows the user to specify the name of the
MagicNet Pro server the display unit is to connect to.
2) Monitor Name
Monitor Name allows the user to assign a unique
identification to each MagicNet Pro display on a network, in
order for them to be recognized by the server software.
This name will identify the display unit in all configurations
and commands on the server software.
3) Options
The options area here allows the user to order the display
to reconnect to the server automatically when the server is
turned back on after being powered down, and also to
require a user password to change options on the display
system itself.
4) Homepage
Homepage allows the user to set the web address they
want the MagicNet Pro display to open by default when
Internet Explorer is launched.

Password
. The Password screen allows the user to change passwords
for the Administrator or currently logged in User accounts
for the MagicNet pro system.
1) Administrator
Administrator refers to the system administrator account
that has full control over the MagicNet Pro display and
software. This password was configured when the MagicNet
Pro software was installed on the server PC.
2) User
User refers to a currently logged in User account configured
by the administrator in the MagicNet X server software.

File
. The File Manager is used to copy files from one drive to
another within the MagicNet Pro display units onboard
storage and attached USB storage devices.
. The user selects the source file by checking the box in
front of the desired folder or file in the left hand file window.
This is done by using the remote controls arrow keys to
navigate and the enter button to assign a checkmark. Then
the user selects the destination they would like the file
copied to in the right hand file window.
Pressing OK will transfer the files.
Pressing either Delete button will delete files currently
checked in the file window. The delete keys correspond to
the specific file window they are located below.

Options
The Options screen allows the user to control non network
or file related options on the MagicNet Pro display unit.
1) Repeat
Repeat allows the user to designate file playback repetition
in the music and video playback screens of the MagicNet
Pro display.
2) Rotation
Rotation allows the user to designate whether the display is
configured to run in either landscape or portrait modes.

3) EWF (Enhanced Write Filter)


The user to control write protection of the MagicNet Pro displays built in storage.
. EWF enabled : No changes, files copied, or installed software will be retained when the
display is powered off.
. EWF disabled : the display will retain settings after being powered off
* If the user wishes to commit changes to permanent storage (Such as installed reader
software or codecs), the user should use the Commit button to place these changes into
the EWFs permanent storage.

- This is the Windows XPe Screen of MagicNet Pro interface. From this screen, the user can use
the PC function, or configure the MagicNet Pro display.
- This screen can be accessed by pressing the Alt+F12 Key the connected USB Keyboard
* The user must connect the USB keyboard and USB mouse in order to use the PC function and set up.

About
. Check the Version information of the Client S/W

EWF (Enhanced Write Filter)

Password
1) Change the password
. Setup the new password, or change existing password
2) Use password lock
. If the user check the Box, require a password to
access all work.

Setup : Connection
. Configure the Network connection
1) Schedule Sever
. Automatic : Just check the Sever name both Client
monitor and Sever PC, the local client monitor is
connected with the Sever automatically (just local
Network connection)
. Direct Connection using the IP address
: If the Sever and client do not connect with local
network, the user has to enter the Sever IP address.
2) Contents Sever
. Magicnet Pro allow to 2 contents sever.
. Contents sever can reduce to overload the main sever.
contents sever send the contents to client monitor.
3) Name
. Check the Sever name, Network is connected.
. Client name will identify the display unit in all
configurations and commands on the server software.

Program
1) Start up
. The user setup the Start up Program
( None/Player/Scheduler)
2) Automatic Update
. The user can setup the automatic Update options for
Magicnet Pro client Software
Screen
1) Logo Screen
. The user can change the logo screen
. When the data is loaded by sever PC and there is no
schedule, the monitor display the logo screen.
2) Schedule Folder
. The user change the download space
. Space indicate the free disk space
3) Local Schedule
. MagicNet Pro send the data through both network
condition and non network. Download the data to USB stick
on sever PC and plug the USB to client monitor, client
monitor can display the Schedules in the non-network
condition.

Options
. Show loading screen before program start : when
the user run the signage scheduler, display the
loading screen
. Do not show system messages : When the client
monitor play the schedule, system message is not
showing.

Rotation
. Rotation allows the user to designate whether the display is
configured to run in either landscape or portrait modes.

Program
. The user setup the Start up Program
. None / MagicnetX (Player) / Signage (Scheduler)

- This Scheduler mode display the scheduled contents by sever PC.


- When the data is loaded by sever PC through network and there is no schedule, the monitor automatically
display the logo screen.
- The user can change the logo screen

Installation of MagicNet Pro Sever Software


. The Samsung MagicNet Pro sever software can be found on a CD included with the MagicNet Pro
display. The user must install it on the chosen network connected server PC in order to make full
use of the MagicNet Pro display.
. When the user installs the software, it will prompt for an administrator password. The user will
need to enter that upon first starting the MagicNet X PC software.
Run the MagicnetProSetup.exe
Select the language
User authentication dialog box, select I accept button
Enter the password
Progress the installation
Finish the installation
The Shortcut button to the MagicNet Pro will be created

Log in
. Before the MagicNet Pro software can be used, the user must log in to the program. This can be
done by clicking the File Login button. After clicking it, the user will be presented with a log in
dialog box. From here, the user can select their user name from a drop down list, and enter a
password to allow use of the MagicNet Pro software.
. If this is the first time a user has logged in, or the user has not configured any additional login
names, then the username will be Administrator, and the password will be the password the user
entered upon installing the MagicNet X software.

Setup the Option
. Connect to the Display and Sever PC, configure the network setup.
. This can be done by clicking the Tools Option button. After clicking it, the user will be
presented with Sever setup box. The user can configure the General, Schedule, Screen items.

Library
. The user play the contents on the monitor, first the contents will be added to the library.
. This process check the file condition and classify the files for the next process.
. The supported formats are Movie, Music, Photo, Office, Flash.
( The user have to install the codecs and players in order to use the contents.)

Screen
. With this screen function, the user can select the content you want to display on the client display
. The user freely make the Content area and effects. But Office files are supported only full screen
mode. And consider to the contents size, select to the sending type either download or streaming.
. Before making the screen, the user have to register the contents.

Schedule
. Schedule the contents, and distribute them to client monitors and local monitor
. Magicnet Pro have a local monitor function. When the client monitor is not connected with
network, create the local monitor schedule and copy to the USB stick. Just plug in the memory
stick on the client monitor, play the saved schedule automatically.

* Network condition
1. Select the Client monitor connected with the
network in the monitor list session.
2. Set the time intervals for the schedule

Remote management
. Remote management allows a user to control the settings for all MagicNet Pro displays on the
network. This allows settings such as picture color, display source, power on/off, brightness,
contrast, volume, etc. to be controlled from the MagicNet pro server PC.

Message
. Message is an option that allows the user to set a text message to appear as an overlay on the
monitor screen, on top of the running content.
. This allows settings such as end time, color, font, direction, speed, etc.
