En una planta qumica o petroqumica, en cualquier sector

puede ocurrir una atmsfera explosiva durante la operacin normal; entonces todo el equipamiento elctrico debe
ser a prueba de explosin y cumplir con la Directiva Atex
94/9/CE.
Los tomas y fichas juegan un rol primordial en la distribucin de la energa y representan un punto de seguridad crtico para toda la planta.
Cuando se acoplan los tomas y fichas, un posible riesgo
puede suceder si no se toman las medidas para evitar chispas o arcos, formados durante el acople o desconexin;
estas pueden ponerse en contacto con la atmsfera circundante, causando una explosin.
In any chemical and petrochemical plant or, in general, anywhere a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur during
normal operations, all electrical equipment must be explosion proof and comply with the directive Atex 94/9/CE.
Sockets and plugs play a leading role in energy distribution
and represent a critical point in the safety of the whole plant.
Upon coupling of the plug with the socket a possible danger
may arise, if you are not careful to avoid that sparks or arks,
forming during the coupling and disconnection, get in touch
with the surrounding atmosphere, thus causing an explosion.

Adicionalmente, un proceso de control contnuo y tests de

Todos los tomas estn provistos de tecnologa de acoplamiento, que previene al usuario de desconectar la ficha
del toma mientras los contactos estn cerrados. El acople
y desacople son permitidos solamente si no hay voltaje
presente entre los pines.
All sockets and plugs are designed so as to guarantee both

the electrical protection by connection and the total safety
against explosions.
They are designed and manufactured fully in compliance
with the prescriptions of the European and international standards and are certified by reliable laboratories, proving their
safety through accurate tests.
Furthermore, a continuous process control and routine tests
during manufacturing guarantee the safety standard of the
products.
All sockets are provided with interlocking system, which prevents the user from disconnecting the plug from the socket if
the contacts are closed. The coupling and disconnection are
allowed only if no voltage is present on pins.

son fabricados con materiales de alta
resistencia y son diseados y ensamblados para prevenir posibles explosiones, que si ocurrieran dentro del
equipo, se discipen al exterior.
El material principalmente usado es
una aleacin de aluminio AlSi13, que
es muy resistente al stress mecnico y
a la corrosin por agentes qumicos y
del ambiente, presentes normalmente
en plantas qumicas.
Todos los tornillos son de acero inoxidable y la terminacin es de pintura
epoxi horneada, que incrementa la
proteccin contra corrosin superficial.
Los sellos de silicona se usan de -60 a
+ 200C
Cortem Group sockets and plugs are

realized with highly resistant materials
and are designed and manufactured
so as to avoid that a possible explosion, that may happen inside the
equipment, spreads outside.
The material mainly used for their construction is the aluminium alloy AlSi13,
which is very resistant against mechanical stress and against corrosion due
to chemical and weather agents that
are normally present in chemical
plants.
All coupling screws are in stainless
steel and the finishing is an epoxy powder painting, which increases the protection against surface corrosion.

COMPATIBILIDAD
El equipamiento energizado porttil generalmente es

usado tanto en reas clasificadas como en reas seguras.
En el pasado era necesario tener dos tipos diferentes
de equipamiento, porque las fichas a prueba de explosin no podan ser acopladas con tomas industriales.
Cortem dise una ficha a prueba de explosin que, a
pesar de ser concebida para acoplarse con un toma a
prueba de explosin, tambin puede ser acoplado con
tomas industriales que cumplan con el estandard
Europeo EN-IEC60309.
El usuario final puede entonces, a travs de un solo
equipo, usar tanto en reas clasificadas como seguras.
Obviamente, la operacin a la inversa no es vlida: una
ficha industrial no puede ser acoplada con un toma a
prueba de explosin, para garantizar la seguridad en
las reas peligrosas

Explosion proof plug in industrial socket
COMPATIBILITY
Portable power supplied equipment are usually used both in

safe areas and in hazardous areas with potentially explosive
atmosphere.
In the past it was necessary to have two different pieces of
equipment, since explosion proof plugs could not be coupled
with industrial sockets.
Cortem designed an explosion proof plug that, although
being conceived to be coupled with the explosion proof socket, can be also coupled with industrial sockets compliant to
the European standard EN 60309.
The end-user can thus buy one piece of equipment only and
use it both in safe and classified areas. Obviously, the vice
versa is not valid: an industrial plug cannot be coupled with
an explosion proof socket, so as to guarantee the safety standard in hazardous areas.

Los tomas y fichas a prueba de explosin PY y SPY consisten de una

aleacin de aluminio libre de cobre UNI4514, UNI3049, UNI3051 o
UNI3599. El cuerpo del toma tiene dos entradas de 1" para 32A y
3/4" para 16A. Dentro tiene un switch manual que funciona cuando
se rota la ficha.
Todos los pines estn hechos de latn baaos en cromo, la cobertura es de resina de poliester. Dentro se encuentra la resina bi componente CRV-4200, que resiste hasta 120C. Los sellos standard de
NBR son resistentes a temperaturas de -30 a +100C. Anillo de proteccin de PVC y tapa con cadena. Tornillos de acero inoxidable y
pintura epoxi RAL7035 horneada.

PY and SPY explosion-proof sockets and plugs consist of a UNI

4514, UNI 3049, UNI 3051 or UNI 3599 copper-free aluminium alloy
body. The socket body has two entries - 1 for 32A and 3/4 for
16A. Inside is a non-automatic switch that works by turning the plug.
All the pins are made of chrome finished brass, the covering is in polyester resin. Inside is CRV-4200 bi-component resin, which is temperature-resistant up to 120C. The NBR standard seals are resistant
to temperatures between -30C and +100C. PVC shade ring and
cap with chain. Stainless steel screws and RAL 7035 epoxy coating.

Los tomas serie FSQC y fichas serie FP

estn fabricados en modelos de dos o tres
polos ms tierra.
Al insertar la ficha se energiza el equipo,
la cual actua dentro del interruptor interno,
evitando que se formen arcos entre las
cavidades y pines de toma y ficha.
El cierre del interruptor es posible solamente cuando la ficha est completamente insertada, y la extraccin de las fichas
solo es posible con el interruptor en la
posicin "abierto".
The FSQC series sockets and the FP series

plugs are made in two pole or three pole
models plus earth.
The energyzing of the equipment is done
by inserting the plug, which acts on the
internal circuit breaker, avoiding the formation of arcs between the cavities and the
pins in the plug and the socket.
Closure of the circuit breaker is possible
only with the plug inserted, and extraction
of the plug is possible only with the circuit
breaker in the open position.

Los tomas y fichas a prueba de explosin FSQC y FP son de aluminio

libre de cobre UNI4515, UNI 3049, UNI 3051 o UNI3599. El cuerpo del
toma tiene dos entradas de 1" o 1 1/2". Dentro tiene un interruptor automtico que se acciona al girar la ficha. Todos los pines estn hechos
de bronce baando en cromo. Los componentes internos son de resina de poliester 4G/30. Dentro posee resina bi componente CRV-4200
resistente a 120C. El sello standard de NBR es resistente a temperaturas entre -30 a 100C. El toma tiene una tapa con cadena, tornillos
de acero inoxidable y pintra epoxy RAL7035 horneada.
FSQC and FP series explosion-proof sockets and plugs consist of a

Los tomas EPC con rangos de 63 a 125A,

son particularmente usados en soldadoras, compresores, generadores y equipo
movil grande en general.
Las fichas serie AP estn disponibles con
3 o 4 polos ms tierra. El cierre del interruptor es posible solo si la ficha est insertada, y la extraccin de la misma es posible solo cuando el interruptor estn en la
posicin "abierto".
The EPC sockets, with range from 63A to

125A, are particularly suitable to power
welding equipment, compressors, generators and large mobile equipment in general.
The AP series plugs are available with three
or four poles plus earth. Closure of the circuit breaker is possible only when the plug
is inserted, and extraction of the plug is
possible only when the circuit breaker is in
the open position.

STRUCTURE
Los tomas y fichas a prueba de explosin EPC, EPRC y AP son de

aluminio libre de cobre UNI4515, UNI 3049, UNI 3051 o UNI3599. El
cuerpo del toma EPC consiste en una caja GUB03 y tiene cuatro
entradas de 1 1/2". El cuerpo del toma EPRC consiste en una caja
CCA-03 con dos entradas 1 1/2". Dentro tiene un interruptor que se
acciona operando la manija de costado (ver la ilustracin). Todos los
pines estn hechos de bronce baando en cromo. Dentro posee
resina bi componente CRV-4200 resistente a 120C. El sello standard
de NBR es resistente a temperaturas entre -30 a 100C. El toma tiene
una tapa con cadena, tornillos de acero inoxidable y pintra epoxy
RAL7035 horneada.
The body and cover of both the socket and the plug are made of UNI
4514, UNI 3049, UNI 3051 or UNI 3599 copper-free aluminium alloy.
The body of the EPC socket consists of a GUB-03 enclosure with four
1 1/2 GAS UNI 6125 threaded entries. The body of the EPRC consists of a CCA-03E enclosure with two 1 1/2 GAS UNI 6125 threaded
entries. Inside is a switch that works by operating the knob on the
side (see illustration below). All the pins are made of chrome finished
brass. The CRV-4200 bi-component resin is temperature resistant up
to 120C and the NBR standard seals are resistant to temperatures
between -30C and+100C. The socket features a cap with chain,
stainless steel screws and RAL 7035 epoxy coating.
