Bradford Fire Station Open Day
Bradford Fire Station (Leeds Road) are holding an open day on Sunday 7 th August between 11am
and 4pm. There will be various activities including a rescue dog demonstration, childrens rides
and games, refreshments and stalls. Proceeds will go to charity.
After School Clubs
Clubs will start again week commencing 12th September. A letter will be sent home during the first
week back in school for children to choose which club(s) they would like to attend.
School Meals and Free School Meals
All children moving from Year 2 to Year 3 will now need to pay for a school meal, unless you
are entitled to receive free school meals. To check your entitlement, please call the
benefits service on 01274 434477.
School Milk
If your child is in Year 1 to Year 6 and would like a daily carton of milk the cost for this for the first
term (September to December) is 11.00. Children in Pre School, Nursery and Reception will all
receive free milk. Children entitled to free school meals in years 1 to 6 will also receive free milk.
Attendance
Our whole school attendance target is 96% for the year. This year (up to 15 th July) we have
reached 95%. Our weekly attendance draw and half termly attendance draw will still take
place in September. For your child to have their name entered into the draw they need to
have 100% attendance. We have had an increase in parents requesting leave during term time,
we only authorise these in exceptional circumstances. Please do not take your child out of
school during term time, you could end up with a penalty notice and you risk your child losing their
place in school.
Our school holidays give you cheap flights within the fortnight from 27 th May to 11th June if you fancy
a cheaper holiday.
Attendance Rewards 2015 2016
As well as the weekly draw and half termly draw some classes have received a special reward for
excellent attendance, such as a cinema trip and a day out at the farm. We have arranged for the ice
cream van to come to school on the last day for all children who achieved 96% or above attendance and
the children with 100% will receive a special trophy.
Contact numbers
It is very important that we have your up to date telephone numbers in case we need to
contact you during school time, if you do change your number please inform school as
soon as possible so we can update our records.

Uniform
If you are thinking about uniform for September and you have not ordered through school you can buy
sweatshirts from Natashas in Bradford. We only hold limited stock in school so if you come to the
office on the first day back we may not have the size you need.
If you have ordered a book bag they are being delivered during the summer holidays, please collect
when we return in September. All new Reception children will receive a free standard book bag.
