A Project Report On

XTRAPOWER CARDS

INTRODUCTION

Being a trainee and getting selected in IOCL


TINSUKIA for my Summer Internship, I was given
a topic on XTRAPOWER Fleet Card, Driver Card
and Rural Card along with SWOT analysis of this
three types of cards, as well as SWOT analysis of
OMC/PRIVATE Cards available in the Tinsukia
nearby market.

BRIEF OUTLINE ON 3 TYPES OF


CARDS...

What is Fleet Card?

A Fleet Card is used as a payment card most


commonly for gasoline, diesel, and other fuels at
gas stations. Fleet Cards can also be used to pay
for vehicle maintenance and expenses at the
discretion of the fleet owner and manager.

Its Benefits..

People who uses Fleet Card are benefitted with


points with there purchases, like for RS 100
purchase they will get 30 points(1point=1paisa)

They also get Insurance like the Card Member


gets RS 50000 per active card, the Driver gets RS
1,00,000/-per card whereas the Helper gets RS
50,000/-per card.

About Drivers Card...


Driver Cards are used by the drivers owning there
vehicles.
They are benefitted with points and other
incentives.
With every 100 purchase they get 30 points(1
point=1paisa)
They are given incentives of 1000 points on
occassion of Independence Day, Republic Day,
Birthday etc.
They can redeem upto 10,000 points.

About Rural Card...


It is a first of its kind loyalty programme initiative in
the Oil Industry. All Rural consumer who
purchases fuel for various use such as Pump set,
Fisheries etc can be given incentives through
Rural Card.
Its benefits are same as of rest two cards
Incentive points shall be 30 points per rupee 100
purchases(1 point=1 paisa)
Minimum points to be redeemed are 10000 points.

Visits to RO

I was asked to visit several RO at various locations and


find out the following information thereof:-

The first RO that I visited was DHANANJAY


ENTERPRISE

No of Fleet Cards made there:-3-4 fleet cards were


made there and mostly for BSNL Customers.

Transactions made daily:-The transaction on there is low


as it is newly established and earns around 50-200 per
day.

Visits to RO

How do they approach the customers:-They mostly


approach the customers orally and have kept a Stand
outside.
Difficulties faced:-They are facing the difficulties of
Network problem and they have reported that most of
the time Link is not available.

Second Visit to MMJP


No of Fleet Cards made:-4-5 fleet cards were
made.
No of Driver Cards made:-More than 50 driver
cards were made.
Approach to customers:- Approaches were done
orally and mostly told about the benefits the
customers will get.
Difficulties:-Network Problem was the first issue,
Customers have too much doubt so it becomes
difficult sometimes to clear their doubts.

Third Visit to SD SERVICES


No of Fleet Cards made:-More than 20 fleet cards
are made there.AIRCEL,BSNL,GTL,RJIL,108,SIS
are their regular customers.
Transactions all are carried out for more than
100litre per day.
Approaches to customers:-Done orally, and no
other promotions done
Difficulties:-Link not available, Network problem,
but to satisfy customers they even provide credit
system.

FOURTH Visit to UDAIRAM


RAWATMAL
No fleet cards were made
there,104,102,SIS,BSNL,AIRCEL,GTLRELIANCE
are their regular customers.
They dont have any difficulties using the fleet
card except the Powercut and Network issue.

FIFTH Visit to BPCL(Dibrugarh)


They started using Fleet Card from 26th May.
No fleet cards were made there.
Approaches to customers:-They have kept banner
and no other promotions they make.
Difficulties:-Powercut, and Link Problem.

B.N.SINGH
Number of Fleet cards made details were not
given well.
No of Driver Cards made:- Around 40-50 cards
were made.
Daily transaction for fleet cards goes upto 5000
per day. AIRCEL,AIRTEL,RELIANCE,TATA
TEA,108,SIS,ASSAM PETROLEUM,GTL are the
regular customers over there.
No difficulties for fleet card were recorded.
Difficulties for driver cards:- Connectivity problem

B.N.SINGH

Further Improvement:-Certain improvements were


taken to notice
Firstly there should be Wireless Machine so that
they can carry their work more smoothly.
Secondly some Awareness Programme or
Campaigning should be conducted so that people
over there get some knowledge on Fleet Card.
Thirdly proper training is required to the person who
uses the machine over there as he was the one who
was finding it difficult to use.

B.N.SINGH

B.N. SINGH Strength was found out and it is the


Loyalty of the Customers, even though they
sometime faces the difficulties in Link or Network
problem most of the customers give their cards for
recharge and collect it later. This way no
customers go out of hand.

BARBARUAH SERVICE
CENTRE
No of Fleet Cards made:-Total number of fleet
cards made there was 6.
No of Driver Cards made:-Total number of Driver
Cards made there was 5.
Their highest transactions for fleet card has gone
to 128038 on 25th May and rest all below 10,000
per day.
Difficulties if any:-No difficulties for Driver Cards
only difficulties they are facing is on fleet card as
most of the time Link is not available.

BARBARUAH SERVICE
CENTRE
There regular customers are 108,102 and ONGC.
Further Improvement:-For further improvement as
per my suggestion I asked them to have TIE-UPS
with people or organisations who are interested
and I was told that they have already Tie Up with
NCLEOO ROSSEL INDIA(KOLKATA) to increase
their sales.

SANTI AUTO SERVICE


No fleet cards were made there.
No of Driver Cards made:-Total of 8 driver cards
were made there.
Transaction over there is low and goes upto 15002000 per day
As per information given to me there was a
Machine Problem from several days and due to that
they could not have a better sale.
Full information could not be provided by the person
who was there as he said his boss has the records.

SANTI AUTO SERVICE

Further Improvement:-For further improvement the


person who is in daily charge should be given
proper training as he is unaware of Fleet Cards
well and as their Boss is not available all the time
over there it is important for them to know about
fleet card and how to use it as well as its benefits
and keep a record of every transaction they make.

MAKUM MOTORS
No of Fleet Cards made:-Total no of fleet cards
made there was 8.
No Driver Cards were used till yet.
Transaction is low as they were hotlisted from
March onward due to low sale, and has started
using it again from May onwards.
102 and 108 are their regular customers.
Highest transaction on 2016 was found out to be
10,000 that too on 1st Feb.

MAKUM MOTORS
Further Improvement:-For further improvement
and for increasing there sale they are having a Tie
Up with POWAI TEA ESTATE and BHOGOBANI
TEA ESTATE.
As per my findings the person incharge over there
will be able to increase the sale as he seems to
have full knowledge and is more dedicated.

SALIGRAM
No fleet cards were made.
Only 1-2 transactions has occured.
Difficulties:-No Network Coverage and so they are
unable to use the machine.
Further Improvement:-For further improvement
they can try up for Broadband connections, or can
set up a tower over there by writing a formal
application to any nearby connection provider.

BPCL(DULIAJAN)
No of Smart Fleet made there:-Till then 4 cards
were made and transaction was carried out only of
this 4 card users no other vehicles have come
over for fleet card transaction.
They have 3 types of card:1) Silver card
2) Platinum card
3) Gold card

BPCL(DULIAJAN)
Point system they provide on their card: On every purchase of RS100 they provide 30
Points, this point system is applicable for Platinum
and Gold cards whereas in Silver card for every
purchase of RS100 they provide 15points.

Enrolment of RURAL CARD


I was been asked to visit the Restaurants,
Shopping Malls where they use diesel and then
was asked to enrol the Rural Card and activate
the card to them.
I visited Hotel Ballerina, Hotel Royal Highness,
Vandana Shopping centre, Vishal Mega Mart and
Mittal Pharmacy wherein Cards were issued and
activated to them.

Enrolment of Fleet Card


On 4th and 5th July the transporters from Tinsukia,
Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Sivsagar, Golaghat and Tezu
were called upon at IOC Office for the enrolment
of fleet card.
Thus forms were given to them and were asked to
fill it up and submit the same.
On 4th July the total number of transporter who
came in for enrolment was 7 and on 5th july only 2
transporters were there.
