4.0 The strength and the weakness identified in the English PKSR2.
The English Language Unit members identified the strength of the pupils proficiency
based on the item analysis done by language teachers as follow.
4.1 The Strengths found based on the PKSR2 are as follow:
Pupils are able to identify the key words in the questions to select the correct
answer.
Pupils are able to make simple sentences and compound sentences.
They are able to use suitable words and phrase in writing.
Pupils are able to identify main ideas and supporting details in answering
comprehension questions.
Some pupils are able to write good essay where there is flow in writing their ideas
and elaborate the words in their writing.
Pupils are able to grasp some grammar skills such as simple present tense,
continuous ad simple past tense.
Even though the format will change next year, the skills above are the basic
knowledge needed to answer the English question paper.
The Head of English Language Unit asked the teachers to look into the pupils
mistakes and take initiative to overcome the problems in the classroom.
Teachers are reminded to use suitable approaches in teaching and learning
process in the classroom.
7.0 Closure.
Pn Asnida Bt Abdullah hope that the teachers will carry out the effective methods of
activities to improve the pupils proficiency as well as to improve the results.
