TIPO DE INVESTIGACIN Y EL ROL DE GERENTE
DE PROYECTOS

Resumen
En este artculo se pone de manifiesto la importancia del sector de la I+D y su organizacin
fuertemente proyectizada que la convierte en un rea clave para la aplicacin de metodologas de
gestin de proyectos. Se analizan los modelos de procesos de la I+D para proponer un esquema
basado en dominios interrelacionados que permite dar pie a la identificacin y caracterizacin de la
investigacin bsica, aplicada, desarrollo e innovacin. A partir de ah, se comparan las competencias
entre el gestor de proyectos general y los investigadores principales (gestores de proyectos de I+D de
facto). Se concluye que existe una gran diferencia entre conocimientos y competencias requeridos
para la gestin. Se muestran las dos tendencias que existen en el sector de I+D y la propuesta de
separacin del roles y la creacin de una nueva figura distintiva del investigador principal que se ocupe
de la gestin de proyectos.
