Indian Air Force invites applications for the posts of Commissioned Officer in Flying, Technical
and Ground Duty Branches through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/ 2016.

Flying Branch:

Ground Duty Branch:

Eligibility Criterion
Education Qualification:

For Flying Branch: Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline
from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all
papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE / B Tech
degree (Four year course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in
aggregate in all papers put together.
Age: 20 to 24 years as on 01 Jul 2017 i.e. Born between 02 Jul 1993 to 01 Jul 1997 (Both
Dates inclusive).(Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial
Pilot Licence issued by DGCA(India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. Born between 02
July 1991 to 01 July 1997 (Both dates inclusive).
Physical Standards
(i)
Height and Weight:
Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min - 99
cms. Max - 120 cms.Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms. Sitting Height : Min - 81.5
cms. Max - 96 cms.

For Technical Branch: Four year degree qualification or cleared Sections A and B
examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical
Society of India with 60% marks.
Physical Standard:
(i)
Height and Weight:
Minimum height:- Men -157.5 Cms, Women:-152 Cms with correlated
weight . (ii) All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical
Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.
For Ground Duty Branch :

recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B
examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or
Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60%

Accounts

B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) from a recognized university
with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Education

MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry /

Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defense studies / Psychology
/ Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public
Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post
Graduation (Minimum two year program) and 60% marks in graduation (both
recognized by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority).

Age: 20 to 26 year as on 01 July 2017 i.e. Born between 02 July 1991 to 01 July 1997
(both dates inclusive).
Height and Weight: Minimum height:- Men - 157.5 Cms, Women:- 152 Cms with
correlated weight .

Selection Procedure

Candidates applying for technical branch: Candidates will be selected based on the
performance in AFCAT & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) followed by Intelligence
Test, Psychological Test, Group Test, Medical Test and Interview conducted by Air Force
Selection Boards (AFSBs).
Candidates applying for Flying Branch must appear for CPSS (Computerized Pilot
Selection System), Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
