Interpretation using Central Tendency

Table 2-a.1, 2-b.1, 2-a.2 and 2-b.2 presents the data for the mean of the 3rd and 4th
Quarters with the values as 41.02 and 40.29, respectively. Table 3-a and 3-b showcases
the information on the median for both quarters, also. For the 3rd Quarter, the median
was 40.39 and in the 4th Quarter, the median was 40.17. The modes of the two quarters
were shown in Table 4-a and Table 4-b wherein in the 3rd Quarter, the mode was 35.42
and in the succeeding quarter, it was 41.83.
Hence, these mean that the students of St. Maria Goretti performed best in the 3rd
Quarter. This is supported by the data on the arithmetic mean. Although, the mode
was higher in the 4th quarter, this cannot be a concrete evidence that the section
performed best in the said quarter, for the mode does not speak for the scores of a
class as a whole. It only says that among the scores, the one that mostly appeared is
selected and then called as the mode, compared to mean, wherein all scores are
involved and averaged.
However, if we set the standards to it of the Grading System of the Aquinas
University of Legazpi Science High School, the scores were not good enough or did not
pass the quota in both quarters which is supported and shown in all the pieces of
information on the Central Tendency, which are the Mean, Median and Mode.

Interpretation using Standard Deviation

The slide about the range for both the 3rd and 4th Quarters, shows
that the students of St. Maria Goretti performed more consistently in the
3rd Quarter, with 35 as its range, in comparison to the 4th quarter with
its range at 36.
On the other hand, Table 5-a and Table 5-b suggests that the said
section performed more consistently, still, in the 3rd quarter with the
value of its standard deviation set as 7.66, compared to that of the 4th
quarter wherein the standard deviation is 10.27.
