Who said "furloup,h" means "vacation"?

I'd like to meet the man and shake his hand!
He's a better
fellow than I am if he can find the time for rest and relaxation

while taking care of furlough responsibilities.

Oh, well, it's a

real pick-me-up to gel: to see all our old friends and continue
relationships left dangling nearly three years.
We. have a SCHEDULE OF SPEAKI]J(} ENGAGEMENTS available for

those who have not already booked us for their church.

If you
would like to have a copy and see just when and where in your
area we will be speaking, drop a note to our forwarding agents:
Mike and Rickie Faust, 783 Janet St., Versailles, KY 40383.
FROM THE FII^LD:

The Greencroft church seems to be doing very well.

We've
received several letters from members saying how much they miss
us, but that the church seems to be growing.
MR.

GEORGE CAVE, one of the first to join the church after

vje arrived in Zimbabwe and my right hand in the church, was

killed in a tragic automobile accident during the first week in
February. It took nearly a month for us to find out. We request
your prayers for his family which has now made arrangements to
take up residence in England. George was to join me on my
furlough and help with the fund raising for the work we both
found so necessary.

We will miss him very much as we continue to

do the Lord's work.

WE

HAVE

NO HOME!

That's what my associates tell me

from

Zimbabwe. Actually, we have some prospects, but nothing is

definite yet.
When we get home to Zimbabwe, our. work calls for
us to be in Karoi (2 hours from Harare).
Housing is very short
in that particular area and the only thing our people have been
able to find for us has been kilometers out on a farm.
(Most of
you by now probably can guess how bad a "FCilomoters out" road can

bo!) Needless to say, we need your prayers for a house to rent,

preferably ^ Karoi.

NEWS
FROM

MISSIONARIES

STEVE

and

LINDA

WHITMER

GOOD NEWS;

Steve and Linda, along with their children Todd, Jenny, and Kelly
arrived safely and on schedule 1 They were met by a large group of
missionaries and friends at the Harare airport. They passed through
customs smoothly with no problems whatsoever thanks to YOUR prayers!

The Whitmer's have been successful in securing insurance in

Zimbabwe on their health, truck, and household goods, although it
is quite expensive.
They are residing with missionary Bill Delaughter and his family

in Karoi.

The Delaughter*s are thrilled to have them since it has

been a long time since they have had an opportunity to fellowship

with American brethren.

Please make your tax

BAD NEWS:

Upon arriving in Karoi, Steve & Linda went to see the house Bill
Delaughter had graciously arranged for them to rent. While they were

there, they were told they could not rent the house!

They are having

difficulty locating a house. They may be forced to reside in

Lion's Den, which is about 50Ks (25 miles) toward Harare.
Steve and Linda ask that we all PRAY DAILY that they will find
adequate housing soon for their family.
Please send letters of love and encouragement to: Mr. Steve Whitmer,
