pH Stabilizer

BARABUF, an alkaline material, is used as a pH buffer in freshwater, brines, and brine

polymer systems.

BARABUF can be used to increase the pH of aqueous systems up to 10.

BARABUF is safer and more suitable than caustic soda for controlling pH in polymer
systems.
Note: Caustic soda generates excessive gels and causes foaming. Soda ash and

sodium bicarbonate should not be used in systems containing BARAVIS.

BARABUF is more effective per solubilized unit than caustic soda.
BARABUF does not cause precipitates to form when added to calcium or magnesium
brines.

The normal treatment range of BARABUF is 0.1 to 0.3 pounds per barrel in clear fluids.
Note: Up to 3 pounds per barrel may be used in drill-in fluids.

Packaging

BARABUF is packaged in sacks containing 50-lb (22.7-kg) net weight.
