Technical Description

Direct Air System

The following technical description is about the process of direct air capture. Its main
purpose is to modulate the global temperature to find a way to lower the global
warming. The process reduces concentrations of CO2 using several products from
other industries such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process
Engineering, among others fields. This technical description can be utilized by non
profit organizations or local governments who are interested in finding a way to
manage the CO2 emissions
Development of the Process
Direct Air System consists of building massive walls of fans that suck carbon dioxide
out of the air and convert it into more fuel. This process is designed to accomplish
the same functionality of trees, but in places that are unable to host them, such as
icy plains and deserts. The process could be built anywhere in the world, and still
help reduce global concentrations to demonstrate a direct air capture plant can be
built wherever land is cheap and there is a demand for the CO2 produced. 1
The fans are well designed starting from their foundations in the geometry of the
sheets because it assures that most of the liquid is exposed to the air by causing
disturbances, and capture most of the air to be examined. At the end, 80% of the
CO2 will be removed and transformed into a carbonated solid.
The captured CO2 can be stored underground, used in the oil industry to make
something called "low carbon crude," or turned into low-carbon synthetic fuels that
can replace something like jet fuel.

Direct Air Capture and Regeneration Facility
Direct Air Capture Process
The large fans push air through the corrugated plastic sheets to
capture CO2 in the air as it comes into contact with the liquid, which is a
solution that helps absorb the upcoming air. (see figure 2)
Then the air flows in one direction and enters in the processor whereby
the CO2 liquid falls down with gravity. The corrugated sheets have a CO2
absorbing solution that, when CO2 hits the solution, it mixes with the liquid.

Capture Solution mixing steps
Once the solution is mixed with the CO2, the molecules are converted
into a carbonated form that is designed to split water into a hydrogen fuel.

The air containing less CO2 exits through the back side of the
corrugated sheets. Liquid is collected in a large tray and funnelled into a
sump.
Liquid with captured CO2 is sent to al central regeneration facility. The
regeneration facility extracts pure CO2 from the capture liquid and return into
the sump.
Finally, the regeneration facility will transform the CO2 liquid into a low
carbon crude or jet fuel.
As a result the Direct Air System will produce fuel from the air sucked through the
fans by the process explained. The process can be effective and positive for many
communities and this societys problem. The presented information about the System
will improve the conditions of the global warming by using cleaner technology for the
future.
