Introduction
While oil prices continue to climb, energy conservation
remains the prime concern for many process, also industries
Global demand for energy is growing, driven by rising
population and economic growth. Over the past three
decades, energy use has more than doubled. This increase,
in turn, has enabled the world economy to expand, raising
living standards and helping to meet the aspirations of
millions of people around the world. It is impossible to
operate a factory, run a shop, drive a car or deliver goods to
consumers without using some form of energy. Oil and gas
make a vital contribution to meeting the worlds energy
needs. Today, they account for well over half of global total
primary energy use.
This paper illustrates how to save energy in several
petroleum processes case studies by using heat exchanger
networks using primarily THEN:(the heat exchanger
network ) which uses an algorithm extracted from pinch
analysis from pinch analysis
We are very grateful to our friends, family for their support throughout
the finalization of this project, and especially for our mothers and
fathers for their support and patience
And I would like to thank prof. N.S.M. El-Tayeb for all his efforts and
patience in teaching me the necessary skills and for guiding me
through writing this paper
