About Chittagong

Introduction:Chittagong city is the major seaport and second largest district in

Bangladesh. It is located south-east portion of the country near Myanmar (Burma).
Chittagong city has been adorning with several geographical beauty (Mountain,
waterfalls, long beaches, hill tracks, green forest so on) that never seen in other city of
Bangladesh. Chittagong has given major impact to enrich our economy. Most of the
large industries of Bangladesh are situated in Chittagong.
History of Chittagong: The city of Chittagong attracted the attention of the outside
world from ancient and very early times. The ancient history of Chittagong is not very
clear. During Mughal period the city was known Islamabad.
Peoples and culture: The people of the city are diverse and multi-ethnic. Though the city
known is mausoleum but other religious peoples also live here. Beside this having hill
tracks surrounded the Chittagong district that reason massive part of tribal are living
here (Chakma,Monipuri,Marma). Chittagong is known as the land of the twelve saints of
major Sufi Muslim shrines in the district.
Main tourist spot: Chittagong is a major tourist attraction in Bangladesh. Its green hills
and forests, its broad and beaches and fine cool climate always attract nature-lovers.It is
also famous for the largest beach in the world. Now I am going to talk about the main
tourism site:
Rangamati:The beauty of Chittagong is Rangamati.From city a 77 km road amidst firlds
and windings hills will take you to Rangamati.It is also connected a waterway from
kaptai.There is famous hanging bridge made by (BPC) during 1984.This is only tourist
place to visit throughout the year.It expresses its full beauty in rainy season.
Coxs Bazar:The most significant,most attractive and most romantic tourist spot in the
whole country.It is famous for the longest sea beach in the world approximately 120 km
long.The warm shark free waters are good for bathing and swimming .Every year lots off
foreign & local tourist come here to spend their leisure in coxs Bazar.Though the main
season is in the winter,but coxs Bazar sea beach is crowded almost throughout the year.
Bandarban:Bandarban is another hilly beauty of chittagobg division and is one of the
most attractive for the tourist.Lots of hills and hilly areas,waterfalls,River sangu,lakes
and thetribal culture are the main attraction of Bangladesh.The most amazing part is to
touch cloud and can feel touching whole body.
Iconic people: In Chittagong has born some prominent people who are really making us
proud. Dr. Muhammad yunus, Tamim Iqbal,Surya sen,Akram khan,Ayub Bachchu that
are remarkable.
Muhammad Yunus: He was student of Chittagong University in Economics
department.When he was starting of teaching profession that time he developed
the idea of micro loans after that founding Grameen Bank. In 2006 won the
Nobel prize for peace.

 Language:It is a very different kind of language that getting popular now a day. Recently
so many Tv. Programs,songs,short films are made on Chittagong language.
Conclusion: The city has some barrier. Though it is the commercial city but the
transportation system is not up to the mark. During rainy season most of the place going
to under water. But overall I would like to say I love my city very much.
