Revised Implementing Guidelines for the 2013 Skills Exhibition
REGIONAL TECHNOLYMPICS
I.

Participants
1. The 2013 Regional Technolympics will showcase marketable
products and performances in the different skills acquired by the
students in the various specializations of Technology and Livelihood
Education (TLE) and Technical Vocational Education (TVE). This is
open to all high school students enrolled in both public and private
high schools all over the Philippines.

The members of the Division delegation to the 2013 Regional


Technolympics are as follows: Division First Place winners,

official coaches, Principals of winning schools Division


Supervisors/Coordinators in-charge of TLE and TechVoc
Program and TLE/TVE teachers.

expected to send Pre-registration at least two weeks before
the scheduled event using the attached form found in
Enclosure No.4 of the Regional Memo no. s.

Management
The 2013 Regional Technolympics will
be managed by Regional Technical Working Group (NTWG) composed of
officials from the Department of Education Regional Office VI.

2. Mechanics:
2.1 Eligibility
2.1.1 The 2013 Regional Technolympics shall be participated
in by
bonafide students enrolled in public (General or
TechVoc) or
private high schools during the school year 2012
2013;
2.1.2 The school principal shall certify that the students are
enrolled in the field of specialization where they are
participating;
2.1.3 TLE teachers must submit the following documents:
Certification (using the template found in enclosure
no. 2) from the principal that the teacher is
currently employed whether local or national; and
Certification (using the template found in enclosure
no. 3) from the principal regarding the teachers
designation as the adviser of the studentparticipant.
2.2

Skills Exhibition
The division shall identify the participants per event as
specified in the event packages.
2.2.1 Participant may only join in one event.
2.2.2 There shall be eight individual, five team (of two
members) and one team (of three members up to the
regional Level only) events.

2.3

Bazaar

2.3.1 One bazaar for the whole Region. Each Division will
showcase 1 product and 1 service.
2.3.2 The points earned/rank in the Bazaar Exhibit shall be
part of the over-all Regional Record Holders.
2.4

Mechanics of Judging Skills Exhibition

2.4.1 The products and performances of participants in all


events shall be judged by three members of the Board
of Judges composed of experts, practitioners, service
providers or professionals.
2.4.2 Judges will use the prepared score sheets for both
products and performances. Points given to each of
the participants shall be added by each member of the
Jury.
2.4.3 The total scores of each participant shall be ranked
with the highest total number of points as rank one,
2.4.4 The event secretaries and contest administrators, shall
review the computation and ranking made by the
judges. The participant with the highest total number
of points shall be declared the Regional Record Holder.
2.4.5 The final results shall be reviewed by the members of
the Board of Judges before affixing their signatures in
the summary sheet.
2.4.6 In case of a tie, triple tie or a quadruple tie, the
participant who finished first will be declared as the
champion. (
2.4.7 The decision of the Board of judges is final and
irrevocable.
2.5 Mechanics for Judging the Bazaar Exhibits (Most
Enterprising
Award)
2.5.1 Entry products and performances from each division
will be judged based on certain criteria set by the
regional Committee composed of Specialists and
representative from DTI.

3.2Event Procedure

Preliminaries
a. Registration of trainers and participants
b. Submission of required documents for the event (done during the solidarity
meeting)
c. Ocular inspection of the event venue
d. Briefing/orientation of trainers with the event administrator
before the actual competition
e. Inspection and distribution of contest materials

3.2.2

Skills Exhibition Proper


a. Briefing of trainers and participants with the event administrator (10 mins.)
b. Inspection of event materials, tools and equipment (10 mins.)
c. Orientation on the mechanics of the exhibit
d. Other instructions

Prizes and Awards


4.1 The record holders and the trainers shall be awarded
Certificates of Recognition and Participation.
4.2 Medals and a Certificate of Award will be awarded to the top
three record holders.
4.3 For purposes of determining the top five over-all Regional
record holders, the rank system shall be followed.
