First and foremost, I would like to thank my Additional Mathematics

teacher, Miss Chieng Sing Ee as she gives us important guidance and
commitment during this project work. She has been a very supportive
figure throughout the whole project. I also would like to give thanks to all
my friends for helping me and always supporting me to help complete
this project work. They have done a great job at giving me ideas,
suggestions and also gathering information with other people including
me. Without them this project would never have meet its end. For
their strong support, I would like to express my gratitude to my
beloved parents for allowing and helping me to do this project. They

Introduction of High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term force of
the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause
health problems, such as heart disease.
Blood pressure is determined both by the amount of blood your heart pumps
and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood
your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood
pressure.

High blood pressure generally develops over many years, and it affects nearly

blood pressure readings reach dangerously high levels.
A few people with high blood pressure may have headaches, shortness of
breath or nosebleeds, but these signs and symptoms aren't specific and usually
don't occur until high blood pressure has reached a severe or life-threatening
stage.

Preface
This project is prepared by the students of class 5S1(2016) and it is based on
theAdditional Mathematics textbooks, internet search and reference books.
Additional Mathematics is an effective subject in secondary school. Each
student whotakes this subject has to carry out a project work on the given
tasks.
The aim of doing this project is to improve the skills in using Mathematics
forstudents. Working on this also gives a chance for students to apply their
skills on what theyhad learnt to solve an assigned project. Therefore, every
student stand a chance to improvetheir thinking skills, usage of languages and
grammar as well as Mathematics skillsthroughout the project.
After doing this project, the student will be able to master and understand
more on theapplications of Additional Mathematics thet they learnt in their
school syllabus. The studentcan also learnt some values during the completion
of the project such as to learn how to work together or to be cooperative,
improving their communication skills, responsibility and alsonot to give up
easily on the task given.

Conclusion
After doing research,collecting data, answering question,drawing graph,
making conjecture, conclusion and some problem solving, I realize that
Additional Mathematics is very important in our daily life.
About this project, overall, is quite joyfuland interesting because I need to
plan it carefully and systematic because it is about my future. In fact, the
further exploration is a good session because it can open my mind about the
principle of mathematics in our daily lives.
In a nutshell, I can apply the concept and skills that I had learned in solving
problems in Additional Mathematics, I think this project is very beneficial for
all students to sharpen their mathematical skills as well as problem solving
involving higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions.

Reflection
From this project, I learnt the importance of
perseverance as time had been invested to ensure the completion and excellence
of this project. Similarly, I learnt the virtue of working together as I have helped
and received help from my fellow peers in the production of this project as
sharing knowledge is vital in achieving a single goal. Also, I learnt to be thankful
and appreciative. This is because, I able to apply my mathematical knowledge in
daily life and appreciate the beauty of mathematics. All and all, I have spent
countless hours doing this project. I realized that this subject is a compulsory to
me. Without it, I
cant fulfil my big dreams and wishes.

 c) As a student, describe the role that you can play to make the "Healthy Heart
Campaign" a success.

As a student, there are several methods that can make the "Healthy Heart
Campaign a success, one is by influencing others to care about their health as this
can create awareness towards people that their health should be taken more
seriously. Increasing the understanding about health problems to students is also
a way to succeed the campaign by giving out pamphlets to students as this can
help students to understand more the risk, ways to avoid them, and also how to
prevent heart related problems that can lead to many problems. Another method
is by influencing other students to take nutritious food and prevent taking junk
foods in a large quantity. By this students will regularly take healthier food as
well as avoiding eating junk food in a large quantity because this could lead to a
problematic health issues to the students body.
