BringingMaterials

:Studentsareexpectedtobepreparedwithclassandbringthenecessarymaterials.Notbeing
preparedisunacceptablebecauseitmaythegrouportheentireclass.

Homework:Therewillbehomeworkassignmentsthatstudentsareexpectedtocomplete.Iwillcheckitatthe
beginningofclass.Itshouldbedoneinthesketchbook,dated,andstampedinordertogetcredit.

Portfolio:Studentswillberequiredtomaintainaneatlyorganizedportfolioforthedurationoftheclasssothat
studentsmayrefertotheiroldworkiftheyhaveanyconcernsabouttheirgradeandsothattheteachermayguage
growth.

Sketchbook:StudentswillbeaskedtousetheirsketchbooksonaregularbasisforDoNows,5minutepractices,
thumbnailsforprojects,ornotesandresponsessotheymustbringittoclasseveryday.

Assessments:Mostassessmentswillbedonethroughprojects,critiques,artiststatements,quizzes,andtests.
Studentsmaydiscussopportunitiestohavereassessmentsbutfullcreditmaynotbegiven.

Absences/LateWork:Ifastudentisabsent,itisHIS/HERresponsibilitytogetallmissedworkfromtheteacheror
his/herclassmatesandturnitinatimelymanner.Theagendashouldbepostedonmyteachersiteabove.Within
reason,anewduedatemaybediscussed.
Ifastudentsworkisnotturnedinbythedateandtimeassigned,theywillnotbeabletoreceivefullcredit.

Ifyouneedtospeakwithmeaboutyourgrade,youmustmakeanappointment.

ClassExpectations:
Studentswillchallengeandsupportthemselvesandtheirclassmatestobecomegreatscholars.
Thisincludesusingappropriateandacademiclanguage,stayingdeterminedthroughchallenges,listenandrespond
respectfullytooneanother'sopinions,andaskingrelevantquestions.

Studentswillberesponsiblewiththematerials.
Therewillbetimeinclasssetasidetocleantheclassroomandtoputawaythematerials.Itisexpectedthat
materialswillbeputinthecorrectarea,usedproperlyandsafely,andcleanedifnecessary.

Studentswillrespecttheclassroomenvironment.
Thismeanslisteningtodirections,waitingonesturntospeak,refrainfromeatinginclass,beingontimeand
preparedwithmaterials,andstayingontask.Manyoftheseoverlapwiththefirstexpectation.

StatementforAcademicDishonesty:
Academichonestyisexpectedinthisclass.Cheatingwillnotbetolerated.Consequencesmayinclude:reductionin
gradeonassignment,repeatassignment,nogradeonassignmentorothersasdeemedappropriate.Academic
dishonestywillbereportedtoaschoolcounselorandaparentwillbenotified.
