The aim of the BMBF mobility funds is to establish networks in defined research fields between TU9Universities and IIT

Mandi. Indian and German Professors are eligible to apply for funding in order to work on
jointly defined research topics. Visible outcome should be built up through joint publications and joint
applications for further national and international research funds.

Framework for IIT Mandi Professors:

1 research visit in 2017 (1 Professor)


Duration of research visit: 3 months
A joint workshop or seminar should take place at TU9 University; support for up to 1.660 Euros
available per workshop/seminar
Travel allowance: max. 1000 Euro Airfare
Subsistence allowance: max. 2.300 Euro per month

Framework for TU9 Professors and Postdocs:

1 research visit in 2017 (1 Professor + Postdoc)


Duration of research visits: to be defined between counterparts; appropriate timeframe at least two
weeks, preferable timeframe up to 3 months (Postdocs)
A joint workshop or seminar should take place at IIT Mandi; support for up to 1.660 Euros available
per workshop/seminar
Travel allowance: max. 1400 Euro Airfare
Subsistence allowance can be provided by IIT Mandi for longer visits of TU9 Faculty (to Postdocs on
a case by case basis depending upon the involvement in teaching)

Existing funding from IIT Mandi

Initial, short visits by an IIT Mandi faculty to establish contact with potential TU9 collaborators
Hosting short visits of TU9 faculty
Hosting long visits of TU9 faculty for teaching
