course, MPU-2242 Social and Work Etiquette as it is really important to develop our soft skills
which help and benefit us after school. The coursework planned under this course enhance our
awareness to be always responsible to the society.
We would take this opportunity to thank you to Ms Anuratha Anamala, our Tutor and Lecturer for
this course MPU-2242 Social and Work Etiquette.
Kok Jun Jie as a Project Manager, I appreciate what our team members could cooperate in the party.

Introduction
This report was prepared by Lai Weng Feyz to share our experience while conducting a social
function as one part of coursework assessed under MPU-2242 Social and Work Etiquette subject.
This subject is designed to help students to improve and use their proper social and work etiquette in
certain given situations. By organizing a social function, students will emphasis on appropriate
dressing, communication, food or dining manners and behavior. We choose Prom Night with the
theme of An Enchanting Rendezvous.
Students will then have to do the preparation within 5-6 weeks, including budget setting, planning on
seating arrangement, foods, decoration and function proceeding. During the function, students have
to show the good etiquette on communication and non communication skills, the personalities and
mutual cooperation in setting up the events to gain experience.

before the party, my members had
come out with the same point in
order to pre-order the buffet. To
me, in this event, it absolutely had
brought some income for me. We

charge to get a better solution to

Nevertheless, the most important
things that had I learnt is
teamwork is very importance in
any group task. Without
teamwork, job would be more
difficult, some more it might lead

In this event , I learnt how to

communicate with friend.

Problems and Issues Encountered During the Function

Before the events, No one was volunteer for decoration on the early morning.

Besides, we noticed our budget for this events are not enough .About our first
venue is a Block PA207 , our team members doesnt accept the size of the room
and our supplier couldnt deliver the foods and dessert to the venue because
there will be a security will blockXD HELP ME EDIT HERE after
few weeks our tutor inform us that the venue changed to Block Pa 002
unfortunately,11am-1pm having a Christmas Party ,after 1pm we think we had
no time to help them clean and decoration by the short time.

During the event, the venue of Q005 is too wide and our balloon are limited, and
we lack of people who in charge in decoration the room. Thus, Due of lack
people in decoration this took them 4 hours to finish. Next, The person who in
charge deliver the cake to our venue facing a problem that the bakery store
promoter couldnt find our invoice number and the cakes .Before the event
started, there were some problem because we did not considerate the canteen
of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College closing and actually we had planned
to buy some pack of ice there. Furthermore, when Tee Sue Jin asked one of her
members to go to buy the ice, but she refused to do it, but she is the one who in
charge on buying ice.
After The event, the foods have many leftover .Thus, those members who in charge in
cleaning when the party finished, we noticed many of them leave when there havent
unfully clean.
Solution before event, leader and members of decoration voiced up to volunteer on
early morning on 5 Dec 2015 8 am. Try not to over the budget the leader of programe
group found a food supplier that can give us discount when bulk purchases .We request
our Tutor to changed venue for able supplier delivery to us.
During the event, leader of decoration bought a another bag of balloon to decoration
and giving task for all decoration members to make it on time.Next,the people who in
charge they need to help the bakery store promoter to find our invoice and cake to able
to reach on time .Thus, our host of party, Mr Kok has go to buy at the 5 minutes

before event started. Eventually, Mr Kok did not get back to party on time.
Hence, our party emcee, Mr Lai discussed with Tee Sue Jin to let her replace the
host to start the party with some opening speech.
After the event, due too many people who in charge in cleaning had back and
Hee Pei Yee, Low Sue Yan, Tee Sue Jin, Koo Khai Qing, Ng Si Le and See Hwee Sin
decide to stay back for cleaning and return the thing back to supplier
