ACTIVITY 14
ASSIGNMENT 2
GIVE THREE PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF SITUATION WHERE THE LEARNERS RIGHT
TO DIGNITY CAN BE INFRINGED IN THE SCHOOL SITUATION

1. HUMILIATION
I believe learners right to human dignity are violated when for example the
educator calls learners names that will make learners to feel useless, worthless
for example when an educator calls a learner stupid every now and then for not
performing well in tests or examination, in such situations learners right to
human dignity is violated because such learners will feel worthless, incompetent,
inferior to other learners in the classroom especially those learners who score
higher marks, because of the teachers comments all other learners will tears
such learners and he or she will turn into a class clown that is made jokes about,
I believe in such situations the learners right to human dignity is violated. If for
example an educator gives comments such you really tried you best in this test
and in order for you to improve your marks on the next test start to read early
maybe two weeks before the writing day than you would have by that time
covered everything that you will be assessed about in the test and telling
learners that they should seek for additional resources to improve their
knowledge on certain topics, giving such comments motivates learners to want
to do better and it shows them that you respect them and dont judge them.
2. DEHUMANIZATION
If learners or a learner is humiliated by other learners about their body structure,
height or certain parts in their bodies that makes than feel not normal or
disabled or in same type of an animal, such situations mostly happen among
learners themselves, whereby other learners tears others about how ugly they
look, or how big their heads or their bodies are and comparing them to certain
types of animals, in such situations I believe the learners right to dignity are
violated because first of all, all of these are things that learners cannot change
about themselves, through such comments learners start different about
themselves , they feel not belong and all of this will affect their school
performance or simply not wanting to go to school, because of such situation and
because of such situation learners will to judge their beings and end-up not
wanting themselves and end- up wanting to use marks-ups for them to be look to
prettier or it could simply leads learners to dropping out at school, if a learner
goes through these mention in this paragraph learners right to human dignity is
violated.
3. SLAVERY
Children will always be children because learners are children they will make
mistakes which need to be corrected in a manner which will enable them to
learner from their mistakes to than do the right thing, learners should not be

punished for their mistakes, if for example a learner has made a mistake and
because of that he or she is punished maybe to clean the classroom after all
learners had gone home and maybe this punishment goes on for a week or so or
such learners who made mistakes are excluded from the classroom to take
lessons each time its that teachers period this learners right to human right is
violated.

THAT IS SO SPECIAL THAT IT CAN BE CALLED A PROFESSION. THEN WRITE DOWN
THE FIVE CHARACTERISTICS THAT YOU THINK ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT.

1. UNIQUE SERVICE
Here unique means that no other professional practitioner delivers the same
service. There service delivered must be unique and clearly defined and must be
essential for the community. The interest of the client must always be put first.

The importance of intellectual skills and subject knowledge is emphasised in the
theoretical and practical aspects of an occupation. Intellectual skills is an
extremely important measure of the professionalism
3. SPECIALISED TRAINING
A long period of specialised training is required. Specialised training results in
specialised knowledge. High demands are often made of professionals for which
they need specialised knowledge. An extensive basis of specialised knowledge
with a certain degree of difficulty makes professionals practitioners experts in
their field.
4. IN SERVICE TRAINING
Apart from specialised training, continued exposure to in-service training is also
required. In order to deliver really effective service, the professional person must
remain a learner and continues with making research to improve their knowledge
and to grow with the growth technology.
5. ETHICAL CODES
Because the authority and privileges that the community gives to a profession
can be misused for the individual professional persons benefit, it is
characteristics for a profession to establish a professional code. This professional
code contain a set of ethical principles according to which professional people
should act so that malpractice will not take place. An ethical code thus
systematically sets out the ideal behaviour of a professional person and
considered to be binding.
