) Electrical Materials and Equipments

* Batteries:
Batteries are probably one of the most essential
components utilized in any electrical device, as
mostly each and every electrical device seems to
be equipped with a battery. They are used for
storing electricity so that the device can still work
off electricity when run on battery.
* Copper:
Studies have shown that copper is among the
most widely used electrical material in a lot of
regions, which makes it perfectly perfect for
electrical wires that are utilized for transferring
electricity flow between different places without
losing much of it as a result of resistance
component
* Transformers:
Transformers are lumps of iron along with two
coils of wires wrapping them. They are used for
switching AC current and even current into its
higher as well as lower values based on the
electromagnetic induction principle.
* Switches:
Switches are also very renowned where the
electrical safety materials are concerned. They
assist in redirecting the electrical currents from
one place to another
* Fuses:
Fuses secure other electrical components from
damage and thereby can perfectly make an
assumption of their significance. Fuses are metal
strips and they melt when the current in any circuit
is higher than a particular level and the current
stops flowing.
*Utility Box
An electrical junction box is a container for
electrical connections, usually intended to
conceal them from sight and deter tampering.

*Circuit Breakers
A circuit breaker is an automatically operated
electrical switch designed to protect an electrical
circuit from damage caused by
overcurrent/overload or short circuit
*LightBulb Socket
Lightbulb sockets, lamp sockets or
lampholders provide electrical connections to the
lamps and support it in the lighting fixture. The
use of sockets allows lamps to be safely and
conveniently replaced (re-lamping).
*Lighting Fixtures
A light fixture (US English), light fitting (UK
English), or luminaire is an electrical device used
to create artificial light by use of an electric lamp.
All light fixtures have a fixture body and a light
socket to hold the lamp and allow for its
replacement.
3) APPLIANCES (Construction Tools)
*Fish tape

A fish tape is used to pull stranded or

solid wire through metal or PVC conduit.
Cable lube is available to assist you in
pulling the wires through the pipe.
*Tape Measure

A tape measure is use to measure

heights for switches and outlets. You
will also need it to center lighting
fixture boxes.
*Ammeter
An ammeter is a measuring instrument used to
measure the current in a circuit.

*Voltmeter
A voltmeter is an instrument used for measuring
electrical potential difference between two points
in an electric circuit.
*Multitester
Test both voltage and current.

*Hammer

A hammer is used to secure boxes

equipped with nail-on brackets to studs
in a home. Youll also need it to drive
Romex straps when adding new Romex
wiring in a home.
*Chanel Lock Pliers

Channel lock pliers are used to take

knockouts out of the boxes, tighten
down Romex connectors in the boxes,
and adjust expansion-type ceiling-fan
boxes.
*Wire Strippers
Wire strippers are used to cut the
insulation off of the wire. They are
equipped with different sized cutting
teeth for various sized wires. They also
have a cutoff portion in order to cut the
wire.
*Non-contact Voltage Regulator

A voltage detector is used for a quick

safety check to see if there is voltage or
current flow present. Some of these
devices are automatic and some must
be turned on via a switch.

*Side Cutter Diagonal Plier

These cutting pliers, sometimes called

side snips, are used to cut wire. They
are specially designed with a cutting
edge that goes down to the tip of the
pliers. The advantage being that you
can get into tight areas to trim wires.
*Lines Man Plier

These pliers are the do-it-all pliers. They

cut, twist wires together, and grip wires
for pulling. pull wire.
*Torpedo Level

A level is used to make sure your work

is level and plumb. A great installation
starts with straight switch and outlet
covers.
*Allen Wrench Set

Allen wrenches are used to tighten

Allen-headed screws in your electrical
panel.

*Phillips ScrewDriver

A Phillips screwdriver has four blades

used to install Phillips-head screws. The
tip looks like a plus sign.
*Straight Blade Screwdriver

This screwdriver is used for straight slot

screws. You will likely need more than
one size for your project. If you have to
choose just one, pick a medium blade.
It will suit most projects.

*Wire Crimpers

This tool strips the wire and also crimps

lugs onto the wire.

4) Architectural lighting design is a field within architecture, interior design and electrical
engineering that is concerned with the design of lighting systems, including natural light, electric
light, or both, to serve human needs.
The design process takes account of:

The kind of human activity for which lighting is to be provided

The amount of light required

The colour of the light as it may affect the views of particular objects and the
environment as a whole

The distribution of light within the space to be lighted, whether indoor or outdoor

The effect of the lightened system itself on the user

It is important to appreciate that the ultimate criterion of success in lighting is the human
response, that is. whether what is to be seen clearly, easily and without discomfort. Lighting
designers are often specialists who must understand the physics of light production and
distribution, the physiology and psychology of light perception by humans, the anatomy of the
human eye, and the response of the rods and cones to light.
