capturedbyopticaldevicessuchascameras,mirrors,lenses,telescopes,
microscopes,etc.andnaturalobjectsandphenomena,suchasthehuman
eyeorwater.
Thewordimageisalsousedinthebroadersenseofanytwodimensional
figuresuchasamap,agraph,apiechart,orapainting.Inthiswidersense,
imagescanalsoberenderedmanually,suchasbydrawing,theartof
painting,carving,renderedautomaticallybyprintingorcomputergraphics
technology,ordevelopedbyacombinationofmethods,especiallyina
pseudophotograph.
Avolatileimageisonethatexistsonlyforashortperiodoftime.Thismay
beareflectionofanobjectbyamirror,aprojectionofacameraobscura,or
ascenedisplayedonacathoderaytube.Afixedimage,alsocalledahard
