Background

The students belong to an adult education system.

The previous lessons have aimed to explore different realities around
the world and how people live in it. They have practiced language skills,
such as reading and writing, in favor of summarizing texts related to the
topic previously mentioned.

Justification:
A webquest is a useful tool for making the students aware of the use of the English language in
a globalized context.

A webquest is really helpful for teachers to innovate and contextualize tasks in order to
improve
language
and
searching
skills
of
the
students.
Objectives:
By doing this webquest Ss will learn about other places and cultures,
increasing in this way their level of English, by learning new words, and
encouraging them to keep learning about other realities. Moreover, they
will be able to present their work to the class, practicing in this way their oral skills.

WEBQUEST
Introduction:

Imagine that you have the possibility to visit a place, your dream
place, which part of the world would you choose? A country, an
important place, a city

Sometimes, imagination give us the opportunity to do things that we

cannot do in reality, and because of this, now you have the chance to
put your ideas and to plan your own tourist route, choosing the place
you would like to go.

Task:

In groups of 4, choose a place that you want to visit, during 3 days. It

could be a city, a country, an important place, etc.

For this, you have to design the best route to travel through the place
chosen, providing good options in terms of accommodations and
facilities for 4 people. (ex: flights, transportation, hotels, restaurants,
etc.)

You will have to visit websites related to tourism in the place you
chose, in order to gather the necessary information,

By the end of this task, you have to present your work in a PPT or in a
Prezi, as an oral presentation.

Process:

1. To choose a place and think of a 4 peoples trip of 3 days.

2. To write the information that
web pages ( example:
https://www.google.com/flights/ ) require to plan the trip:

Where? How many people? Which class? When do you want to go?
When do you want to return?

Decide about the stops, prices, Airlines, and timetable. Make sure that
the possibilities that they provide you fits with your trip requirements.

You can click and option that Google offers you, or the announces that
appears in terms of hotels or flights.

You have to know about tickets, times, flights, places, hotels, prices.

3) With all the info already gathered, put these in a PPT / Prezzi
presentation, following this order:

Front cover: title (WebQuest: CREATIVE NAME ), participantsnames,

and grade.

Talk about your trip: Where, when, how, whom.

Talk about accommodation and facilities: hotels, bed & breakfast,

restaurants, transportation (by feet, you have to show us the route
with a map).

Talk about places to visit: museums, cinemas, theatres, nature

attractions, fun attractions, etc.

Then, talk about the resources ( and which websites are more useful
than others?)

By the end, each of ss have to say: what did you learn by doing this
task? what did you enjoy of this task? as a conclusion.

4) Try to use as many pictures, videos, maps as you can. Be

creative!
