EDA
Here to Help
Eda is glad you've come to visit, and invites you to have a seat and some tea with her. The two of you are relaxing when you hear a
sudden shout! Fritz has announced that he's going to take care of her chickens, and ask if you are here to help too. Looks like he's
going to leave the tea drinking to you, and cheerfully leaves to care for the chickens. After he's gone, Eda worries about how he's going
to take care of her poultry. The two of you hear some clucking and shouting outside, and Eda asks you to go check on it.
Outside, Fritz is trying to coax the chicken to go back into the coop, although he's not having much luck. He gets an idea though! Fritz
explains that he promised to drink tea with Eda today and asks that you get the chicken to go into the coop. Before you can say
anything, Fritz runs off and leaves you to handle the chicken problem.
When you return to Eda's house, Fritz is drinking tea. He asks if you were able to get the chicken into the coop, which you grudengly
did (no thanks to him). Eda can tell that you're a bit bothered, and Fritz quickly excuses himeself. He'll come by again to help though!
After he leaves, Eda senses that something isn't right.
Eda's Son
Eda believes that her grandson understood that it was for the best, and he writes her letters. Eda realized that she hasn't shown you a
picture of her granchild yet, and she points out a picture on the shelf. It is of her son's family. If she is ever lonely, they wrote her a letter
saying they'll return at any time, but she never tells them that she's lonely because they are doing so well in the city. Besides, with her
farm, you, Fritz, and everyone in the village, she's not very lonely.

ELISE
Farm Inspection 1
As you leave your house in the morning, you are greeted by Elise. She has come by to look at the crops that you are growing on your
farm, although she doens't think you've grown anything noteworthy. Elise wants you to bring her an edible vegetable. She will be
waiting for you at her mansion.
Have a vegetable in your rucksack and visit Elise's mansion on a sunny non-Sunday between 6:00 am and 10:00 am or between 16:00
and 21:00 pm. Crops like Soybeans, tree fruit, and Tea Leaves do not count; she wants Turnip, Tomato, Sweet Potato, and so on. You
will be prompted to select a vegetable crop from your rucksack to give to her. Elise will have one of her maids cook your offering into a
salad, and invites you to do the taste test with her. Depending on the quality level of the vegetable you submit, Elise will give you
different judgements:
Veggie between 2.5 stars and 4.5 stars = +1000 FP with Elise
You can take as long as you need to submit the crop to Elise.
Farm Inspection 2
Cow Birth
After you leave, Elise welcomes the baby cow as a member of her farm.
Farm Inspection 3
After this event ends, you'll be at the maximum Reputation level with Elise.
You help the maids carry Elise to her room to let her rest. Outside the room, the maids thank you for your help. You really are a great
support for their master. Elise leaves her room, to the objection from her maids, because she wants to speak with you for a moment.
She wants to properly thank you for helping her with her farm's cow. She realizes that she's inexperienced. Up until now she's always
had employees take care of things, and she feels that she's been a ranch master in name only. Her cows are suffering for it, and she's
needed to get help from you. Elise is sad because it doesn't seem like she can do anything by herself, and she didn't understand that
managing a farm was her responsibility.
Starting today, she is going to rely less on her employees and use her own abilities to manage the farm. If she's serious enough, you
can watch her become a ranch master! Oh ho ho ho ho!!
FRITZ
A Helping Hand
Fritz asks what you're doing here. As his biggest rival, you must be here to steal his farming secrets. There's no point in denying it! It's
okay, as he will teach you his special watering technique. You hesitate, as Fritz seems to be under the impression that you're a farming
novice, but he encourages you to follow him.
At his fields, Fritz explains how to prepare a watering can and use it to water plants. You watch him water his crops, and then asks you
to give it a try. Well... okay... so you take out your can and water a nearby dirt patch. Fritz is happy that you're a fast learner, but your
form is a little stiff; let's try it again. He has you water another patch of crops, and another, and another.
Soon you've water all of the crops on his farm! Fritz has determined that you've now mastered his watering technique, and it looks like
you're going to be a formidable rival. Fritz reminds you that he is going to be the best farmer in the town; no, in the entire world!
He then tells you that he has to get back to work, so he'll see you later.

He thanks you for the help you've given him. As a reward, he invites you to have tea with him. Fritz is glad he consulted with you about

You and Marian carry him to bed. When he comes to, Giorgio is confused, but Marian tells him not to worry; Giorgio was simply having
a bad dream. The farmer just lays brooding in his bed, and doesn't think you guys would understand his troubles. Giorgio asks if you
think the flowers he grows are as beautiful as he, which is kind of a strange question! Marian asks your opinion.
Giorgio begins to complain how he's not as beautiful as the flowers! Now Marian is annoyed, and reminds him that the flowers may
appear to be beautiful, but beauty comes from within. Giorgio understands what Marian is trying to tell him, but he'd rather stick with the
appearance of beauty. Marian tells him not to bother with it anymore, as it is bad for his self-confidence.
How is that possible? Giorgio feels that there is nothing more beautiful than he is! Sounds like Giorgio is feeling better. You and Marian
leave to he can rest.
Giorgio asks if you brought any flowers for him to look at, but unfortunately you've nothing to show him. Giorgio requests that you bring
him a blooming flower. He'll be eagerly waiting to see what you bring.

compare your flowers to his (2.5 to 4.5 stars), or be absolutely dissapointed at the flower that you brought him (2 stars or less).
You will get the flower back in your bag after the event is over.
Giorgio's Request
Giorgio is just stopping by to see your farm, but he is a little disappointed since there aren't any great fields of flowers. He gets an idea;
his fields are currently full, yet he wants a new flower. Giorgio would like you to grow it for him. He would like a Carnation, but the the
seed can be difficult to obtain. Before he can research a new type of field to grow it in, he would like to see it grown normally. Giorgio
doesn't want you to usethe Greenhouse or any other special equipment that you might have, and he doesn't want to hear how
impossible it'll be.
His other requirement is that you grow it and then leave it unharvested. Giorgio wishes to see the flower blooming in the field.
Carnations are a flower crop that grows during the Spring season. The seeds are for sale at the Rose Country vendor at the Trade
Depot when you reach Spring of year 2. You will have to grow it on your own farm, as he doesn't want to see it growing in the flower
rivalry field or inside your Greenhouse or Ferris Wheel.
The flower takes between 10 and 14 days to grow. Once you have a mature field of Carnation on your farm, Giorgio will stop by your
farm when the weather is sunny. If your flowers mature on a rainy day, do not pick them; leave them planted until you have a sunny
day.
In the moring, Giorgio will stop by to review your work. The amount of friendship you earn with him will depend on the Star Rank of the
seeds you planted:
Carnation between 2.5 stars and 4.5 stars = +3000 FP with Giorgio
After his Carnation review, you'll have max reputation with Giorgio.

good... but you have to keep this a secret from her dad. Is there someone in town that you like?
You can tell her there is or there isn't. If you tell her there is, she will then ask you who it is. If you tell her there isn't, she'll ask if you
know someone who can teach her. At that point you will select the name of an available marriage candidate (you won't earn any
friendship with the character you select). Melanie will then decide that she is going to investigate that person's feelings (eek!), but not to
worry as she has her ways. She'll let you know how it goes later.

admits to breaking a desk in one of the guest rooms, and when he tried to repair it, he discovered that he didn't have enough materials.
Maurice asks if you can go collect what he needs while he stays behind at the inn. What he needs are 5 Small Branches.
The event will transport you to the forest area, where you can run around and pick up the Small Branches that Maurice needs. You

After you pick up the 5 Small Branches, you'll return to the Inn to hand them over to Maurice. The innkeeper thanks you, and decides
that he'll make you something as a reward for your help. You can choose to receive a Wooden Bench, a Japanese-style Table, or a

You overhear Marian and Angela talking about a patient when they notice that you've come for a visit. Marian has you take a seat, but
you seem to be more concerned with what they were talking about. Marian asks if you want to hear about it.
Marian is going to tell you about it anyway! Angela objects, but Marian assures her that it is okay. The doctor starts by explaining how
the brain interprets beauty.
The doctor's lecture goes on for a while until Angela interrupts him. His lecture seems to have bore you! For listening to his story,
Marian wants to reward you with an "merging of mind and body." You don't have to do anything special other than be aware of it. He
then has Angela give you a Stay Awake potion and he looks forward to seeing you again.
You spot Lutz wandering around, who explains he is trying to study animals. He knows there are rabbits around here, and since you
seem to have the free time, he asks you to search with him. You look around but don't see anything. Lutz then remembers that you
have cows on your farm and asks if he can go see them. You can either agree to show him or reject his request. If you agree, Lutz will
demand that you show him your biggest cow. If you refuse, then you'll lose 1000 FP with him.
Inside your livestock barn, Lutz is greatly impressed with your cow. You pet the cow and it responds positively. Seeing the cow's
reaction makes Lutz want to try it too, so you let him pet your cow. Lutz is pleased that he can make your adorable cow happy. Lutz
thanks you for letting him study your cow and starts to head out. The boy asks that you keep this a secret from his mom. Margot doesn't
like animals, and he figures that she won't be happy to know that he was touching your cow.

Lutz is pacing back and forth inside the guild hall when Veronica asks him what's wrong. She discovers that Lutz has a cut that is
bleeding! Lutz responds by saying it isn't that big of a deal and he can still walk, but Veronica tells him that he needs to go to the clinic
to have the cut properly treated. She recognizes that Lutz is reluctant to go, and ensures him that the doctor is a skilled physician. The
exam won't hurt at all. Veronica's words finally convinces Lutz to go with her into the clinic.
When Veronica returns, she notices that you were watching. She laughs about how cute Lutz was and how his face changed when she
commented on him being a brave boy. Veronica is concerned though, since Angela can be rather strict in her duty as a nurse.
Lutz and Angela leave the clinic, and Angela gives him advice on how to care for his injury. Veronica is glad to see that he's okay, so
Veronica leaves to escort Lutz out of the guild hall. Angela asks if you are hurt too. You're fine of course. Angela figures that it can't be
helped that kids will fall and get hurt. She comments on how her mom is always working, but yet Vernoica seems to relax when she
takes care of kids. Veronica has to be businesslike to be a guildmaster, even if she is truely nice and caring.
Veronica returns, but she seems to be back to her serious self again. What are you guys doing? She tells Angela to quickly return to
her job. Angela mentions that her mom is back to being in business mode.
- MARRIAGE
Becoming Boyfriend and Girlfriend - The Commitment Ring
You must prove your dedication to the person you wish to marry by giving him or her a commitment Ring. Giving the Ring will link the
two of you together as a couple and allows you to continue with triggering the person's last two flower events. After you have given your
sweetie the Ring, you CANNOT see flower events for any of the other marriage candidates.
The Ring must be crafted by using the Accessory Bench inside of your Sewing Shed. To construct the shed you'll need to buy the
blueprint from Ashe at the Silk Country for 40,000 G, then combine 10 Small Lumber, 15 Lumber, 5 Iron, and 5 sheep's Wool. Inside
the Sewing Room you'll find the pattern for the commitment Ring in the list of jewelry found in the Accessory Bench, right above the list
of eyeware and not in the list of rings. You will need a Silver ore and a Fluorite to construct the Ring for your sweetheart.
Silver can be found at the mining point in the Safari or purchased from Mistel at his antique shop for 8000 G if you've reached Fall of year 2.
Fluorite is found by diving in the rivers. Instead of catching a fish you might find this instead. If you have reached Summer of year 2, you
can also buy it from Silk Country for 5000 G. It can also be found at the Safari mining node (along with the required Silver.)
You can make as many commitment Rings as you'd like, since it can be placed as a wearable item in your farmhouse closet or sold to
the Trade Depot vendors for 11,960 G each (or more, depending on what your clothing brand is).
There are two ways to exchange the ring:
You do the exchange: Meet with your chosen marriage candidate on a sunny, non-holiday Saturday or Sunday and you give
him or her the Ring as a gift. You must have seen the person's first two flower events and have him/her at a blue flower color
(20,000 FP) or higher.
Your sweetie does the exchange (i.e., a reverse ring exchange): Talk with your chosen marriage candidate on a sunny, nonholiday Saturday or Sunday with the Ring in your rucksack. If you have given him or her 100 or more gifts and the person has
25,000 FP or more, then he or she will trigger the exchange. He or she will use the Ring in your bag and ask you to go steady.
For Elise, the reverse ring exchange requires her to be at a yellow flower color (45,000 FP) or higher. For Raeger, he needs to
be on the first floor of the Restaurant and not upstairs in his living area.
If you reject the person's affection, then all is not lost! You can still give the Ring but it requires you to give a total of 130 gifts (30
more than the 100 required for the initial reverse exchange) and be at least a week after your rejection. You won't trigger the
reverse exchange a second time (that I know of), so you'll have to give the ring yourself.
The cut scene will take place at the bridge. The person will never reject your promise gift during the bridge scene. You will also be able
to select a nickname you would like the person to call you or you can leave your name as is. The pet name you select can't be changed
until you get married. The ring exchange event will last one hour, and you'll return to your farmhouse after the event is over.
The flower on your dear's portrait will also change. A small, white flower bud will appear next to the person's standard flower color that
indicates he/she is now your sweetheart. Kamil or Licorice will also have a flower appear on their character portrait after the two of you
begin to go steady. The remaining marriage candidates will still have their flower colors, but they will be missing the white flower bud
that indicates your selected person's status.
You will also receive a visit from Dessie. Now that you have a sweetheart, she'll stops by your farmhouse to tell you the steps you need
to get married. Though, if you're reading this then you already know what she's going to tell you! The villagers in Oak Tree Town will
also comment on your recent commitment for the first week.
Now that you are a couple, your partner will give you cooked dishes once per day when you talk to him or her. Your stamina level will
need to be at 2.5 hearts or less, and your sweetie needs to be at a green flower color (30,000 FP) or higher. The dishes that the
candidates give are:
Angela: Spinach Salad, Herb Salad, Mixed Salad, Potato Bread, and Yogurt Bread
Agate: Basil Cheese Bread, Simmered Potato, Cucumber Namul, Shredded Radish, and Mushroom Pie
Licorice: Chestnut Rice, Shredded Radish, Onion Salad, Mashed Potato, and Vegetable Bread
Lillie: Aloe Yogurt, Bread, Chiffon Cake, Kimchi, and Yogurt Pie
Iris: Blueberry Pie, Lemon Tart, Pancakes, Potato Bread, and Quice
Elise: Cherry Pie, Fruit Gratin, Melon Bread, Pizza, and Yogurt Bread
Kamil: Basil Cheese Bread, Herb Pie, Cucumber Roll, Potato Bread, and Vegetable Bread
Nadi: Chestnut Bread, Corn Bread, Croquette, Grass Drink, and Fried Onigiri
Mistel: Apple Pie, Basil Cheese Bread, Blueberry Pie, Lemon Tart, and Potato Pancakes
Raeger: Potato Bread, Oden, Roasted Mushroom, Samosa, and Soy Milk Cake
Klaus: Cream Croquette, Melon Bread, Mushroom Salad, Potato Bread, and Terrine
Fritz: Butter Roll, Corn Muffin, French Toast, Chiffon Cake, and Mixed Vegetable Rice
The two of you will also celebrate your birthdays. When it is your sweetheart's birthday, go into your house between 17:00 and 23:00 to
start the event, where you'll cook some food and then travel to your sweetheart's house to have a dinner celebration. The same thing
happens on your birthday when you walk into your farmhouse during the dinner period. If the two of you share the same birthday, the
event will take place inside of your farmhouse. The two of you will share a nice meal and you'll earn +500 FP with your partner. You'll
also get a cute little kiss.
Breaking Up
When you're tired of being strapped down and yern for freedom, you can break up with your girlfriend or boyfriend. To do this, you'll
need to have his or her flower color at purple or less (19,999 FP or lower), which you can do by giving the person bad gifts. Once
you've reached the required friendship level do not talk to the person for 31 days; this includes avoiding festivals and random events.
After the required cold-shoulder time has elapsed, walk into your sweetie's house to trigger the break-up scene. If you decide not to
break up, you'll lose 1000 FP but remain a couple. If you do decide to break up then you'll lose 3000 FP and be free to woo another
marriage candidate.
Besides giving gifts, another way to quickly lower a marriage candidate's love level is to show the going-steady Ring to a different
marriage candidate, then go back to talk to your sweetie. Your partner will object to you showing the ring to any free person available.
Each time you do this it will lower the person's friendship points by 2000.
Proposing Marriage
You will need to give your dear a Blue Feather to propose marriage. You can buy the Blue Feather at Otmar's general store for 150,000
G (105,000 G for Seedling) after Dessie gives you advice on how to marry. Dessie's marriage tutorial event will trigger after you give a
going-steady ring AND if you have unlocked her! Dessie doesn't become available until Spring of year 2, which means you have to wait
until at least year 2 to buy the Blue Feather, even though you can give the Ring in year 1.
You must see the four Nature Sprite Inspection events, one in each public field area, before you can unlock Dessie.
You can sell the Blue Feather to the Trade Depot for 10 G, and it is one of the items in the shipped items list. Otmar will sell one feather
each day, so it is okay if you sell it.
You need to have all of the requirements in place before you can successfully offer the Blue Feather to your sweetheart. Wait until a
sunny Saturday or Sunday when it is not a festival day, you have seen the yellow flower event and pink flower events (or both pink
flower events if you're going out with Elise), you have a red flower color with your sweetie, you have upgraded your house to large or
higher, and then give him or her the Blue Feather.
If your feather is rejected, then all of the marriage requirements have not been completed yet. Double check each one of the
requirements, as the game won't allow you to marry with your chosen beloved until you've cleared them.
You can have your partner propose to you by completing additional requirements. You will need to give him or her 150 total gifts or
more, and 30 of the gifts must be the person's favorite +1000 FP gift. Once you're ready, walk into your sweetheart's house between
6:00 and 23:00 with the Blue Feather in your rucksack. If you've met the requirements, your partner will propose marriage to you with
the feather you own. For Raeger, he needs to be in his restaurant area and not upstairs in his living quarters.
If you reject your sweetie's marriage proposal, you can still propose marriage to him or her, but you will need to meet more
requirements. Now you'll need to give at least 200 gifts and seven days have to pass before you can give the Blue Feather to the one
who you've rejected.
After you have handed your beloved a Blue Feather and it has been accepted, he or she will not break up with you. Even if you happen
to drop your fiance's flower color to lower than red before you schedule your wedding ceremony, you'll simply have a wedding with a
non-red flower colored marriage candidate.
Your character will change into wedding clothes for the ceremony, but the style of clothes will be determined by the wedding plan you
choose and not something you select individually. A western-style wedding will have the girl wearing a white wedding dress,
and most of the boys will wear a white tuxedo; Klaus and Nadi wear black tuxedos during their western-style wedding. An eastern-style
wedding will have the girls wearing a pink ceremonial kimino, and the boys will wear a white ceremonial kimono.
The plans cost different amounts of money and have different affects on friendship with the villagers who attend your wedding. The type
of plan also affectshow quickly the pregnancy event triggers. More expensive ceremonies result in faster baby mak'n.
The Simple Plan - This basic wedding only costs 100,000 G and will be a minimilist, western-style wedding with your fiance and
Veronica. You will earn +1000 FP with your spouse, but you won't have anyone else witnessing the ceremony except for the
guildmaster.
With this plan, the pregnancy event will trigger 30 days after your cremoney if you have build the two-story farmhouse.
The Deluxe Plan - The next level plan will cost 500,000 G and will allow you to chose whether you want an eastern-style wedding or a
western-style wedding. You will have a few wedding guests to witness the ceremony, and you'll earn +1500 FP with the guests as well
as +3000 FP with your partner.
As a wedding gift, 5 M. Daisy Pots and 5 Red Rose Pots will be added to the constructed objects inventory inside of your farm house.
The pregnancy event will trigger 20 days after the ceremony if you've constructed the two-story farm house by then.
The Luxury Plan - The last plan is the most expensive at 1,000,000 G and you can select the western-style ceremony or the easternstyle ceremony. The guest list will be greatly expanded and includes most of the villagers. You'll earn +2000 FP with the villagers at
your wedding and +5000 FP with your partner. You will have more congratulations speaches from the villagers than the Super Plan.
The wedding gift will be 5 M. Daisy Pots, 5 Red Rose Pots, and 5 Sunflower Flowerbeds. The pregnancy event will trigger 15 days after
the ceremony if you have the required house upgrade.
Post-Marriage Stuff
After the wedding, you will gather back in your farm house with your new spouse. He or she will give you a Wedding Ring that you can
wear if you add it to your clothing closet, and then select it as one of your accessories.
Your farm house bookshelf will now have the special art cards added to it if you have also unlocked all sevenTrade Depot vendors. The
art card for your new spouse appears on the top screen during the ending credits that appear after the marriage ceremony. Since you
can't marry every available person, to see the other marriage candidate cards you can just go into your bookshelf and select the
Special Cards option.
You will also be notified about your meal times. Breakfast is between 6am and 8am, lunch is between 12:00 and 14:00, and dinner is
from 19:00 to 21:00. To eat with your spouse, stand next to the table inside of your farmhouse during the meal times and press A. You
can choose whether you want to do the cooking or have help with the cooking. You do not have to attend each of the meal times every
day
You will celebrate your own birthday and your spouse's birthday by walking into your farm house between 17:00 and 23:00.
Additionally, walk into your farm house after 19:00 on the date of your wedding anniversary to have a meal with your spouse. The event
isn't over though; afterward, you'll go on an evening date with your sweetie. After the date is over, you'll appear back at your farm house
the next morning.
Your spouse can also go out and fetch wild items for you. If it is not a Sunday or festival day, in the morning talk to your spouse two
times to receive a prompt for help. The next morning talk to your spouse again to learn what he/she collected. You'll receive between 1
and 10 of a wild item inside your rucksack. As long as your love slave remains above a green flower color, you can send him or her out
to pick up stuff off the ground.
You'll also get an annual couple's vacation that will pop up the same season as your wedding anniversary, your birthday, or your
spouse's birthday; typically, whichever occurs first each year. Exit your house between 11:00 and 16:00 to be greeted by Walter the
travel agent. He'll invite you and your spouse to go on a trip as long as your spouse is above a green flower color and your rucksack
isn't full. The trip isn't free though! You will have to pay a travel fee between 100,000 G and 300,000 G depending on the trip that you
take. Your kids will stay at home.
The trip will take you to one of the Trade Depot countries, where you'll do some sight-seeing and your spouse will display dailog about
the country you're visiting. You don't get to wander around or do any shopping, but you will receive 10 of an item common to that
country as a souvenier from your spouse; Cabin Country gets you cheese, Rose Country gets you flower bouquets, etc.
The location that Walter offers for the trip will be in sequential order:
1. Silk Country: 100,000 G
2. Cabin Country: 120,000 G
3. Sakura Country: 150,000 G
4. Komugi Country: 180,000 G
5. Rose Country: 200,000 G
6. Tropical Country: 250,000 G
7. Ice Country: 300,000 G
The background music that plays during the trip will be from past Harvest Moon games (e.g., Cabin Country plays music from Island of
Happiness). After the tour, you'll return to your house to receive your 10-item souvener, and then continue with the rest of your day.

WITCHIE
This magical girl moves to the Forest Road area when you reach Fall of your first year or later. Exit your farm area to the forest on a
sunny day between 6:00 and 18:00 to find a strange girl. She'll find the area suitable for her tastes, use her magical powers to clear it
for what she needs, then build her green-roofed house among the water lily pads of the now visible pond.
Witchie spends most of her time within the house doing her magical research. She will venture outside between 23:00 and 01:00, but
then returns to her protected froggie sanctuary. She doesn't participate in any of the Oak Tree Town festivals, so your festival victories
do not have an impact on her friendship level.
The benefit of befriending Witchie is unlocking the Witch Clothes pattern for your Sewing Studio. This clothing pattern appears
in Mistel's Antique Shop once you have reached at least 50,000 FP. The pattern is a replication of the Witch Princess' clothes
from Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Witchie is the Witch Princess' niece and first appears in Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands. In this
version she does not live with her magical aunt.

DESSIE
This little goddess is a kind kiddo who is being guided by the Nature Sprites in her magical training. Dessie will become available
starting in year 2. To unlock her, you need to have unlocked Witchie and have met all five of the Nature Sprites (Flik, Mora, Gusto,
Pepita, and Torque). In the morning when you wake up, Witchie will barge into your house and complain about strange going-ons in her
house. You'll have to investigate the commotion for her, which resolves with Witchie inviting Dessie to live in the pond outside of her
house instead of within it.
You can give Dessie gifts to raise her friendship, but you can also give her offerings in the traditional Bokumono way by tossing a gift
into the pond she lives in. Throwing the item into the pond by Witchie's house won't decrease your friendship with anyone (it is not
considered to be littering), and it can result in some beneficial gifts from Dessie. After you give certain amounts of gifts, she'll reward
you with a gift of her own:
10 gifts = Cherry
50 gifts = Mango
75 gifts = Cacao
Cocoa Seedlings aren't available at the depot until you unlock Tropical Country, so it is faster to receive a single Cocoa from Dessie,
put it in the Seed Maker, and then plant the seed to grow your own Cocoa Trees.
Raising your friendship with Dessie to 50,000 FP or more will unlock the White Habit clothing pattern at Mistel's Antique Shop.

JONAS
Jonas
Jonas is the manager in charge of the Trade Depot. You'll find him at the Information Desk on Monday through Saturday. On Sundays
he takes the day off, and you'll find the random villager Jack instead. Talking to Jonas at the booth will inform you of the categories that
the depot vendors are paying more for as well as the special vendor shipping requests.
Spending most of his time at the depot keeps him away from his spouse Margot and son Lutz. Margot tends to be overbearing and
jealous, so this gives timid Jonas some time away from her influence. Jonas also is a literal fellow and doesn't always understand the
punch line of puns and jokes.
Since Jonas is at his booth most of the time, catching Jonas to give him gifts takes a little bit of planning. During his work week you can
catch him before 8:00 within his house in west Oak Tree Town, but he won't return home until after 21:00. Sunday is his day off, when
you can catch him inside his house until 10:00, then he wanders around the town until 17:00. He'll start heading back home around
18:00.

Nymph is available in year 1 or later, but the rest are year 2 or 3 (White Morpho, Alpine Black Swallowtail, Common Jezebel B.Fly,
Helena Morpho, and Velvet Diandem). The Orange-Bodied L.bug and Large Leaf-Eating L.bug are also favorites, but they don't
become available until year 3 or later.
GUNTHER
The carpenter of Oak Tree Town, Gunther lives in the southern area of town. He runs his carpentry shop along with his
spouse, Corona. While Gunther runs around town to fix things, Corona stays back at the shop to manage the day-to-day business. She
also keeps him well fed!
Any large-sized buildings that you make by using the Craft Table will involve a visit from Gunther. He won't help you with your building,
but he appears in the little scene that plays while you put your materials together. You don't need to pay him any money or request his
assistance from Corona.
Gunther spends a lot of time inside of his shop. On Wednesday and Saturday afternoons you might find him wandering around outside.
He is not in town on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from about 8:00 to 17:00.

CORONA
Corona manages the carpentry shop in Oak Tree Town where she works with her spouse, Gunther. She takes customer orders and
then forwards them to Gunther, who does the actual work; although technically, Gunther just supervises you constructing the buildings
using the materials that you've collected.
She is a cheerful woman who likes to care for her hard working Mr. Fix-it, although she isn't a very good cook. None the less, she tries
her hardest to do what she can to keep their household running. Corona's glowing personality actually overwhelms Margot, who finds
Corona to be way too happy all the time, to the point that Margot barely tolerates the carpentry shop manager.
Since the shop is open from 8:00 am until 18:00 every day except for Sundays, it may be a little tough to give her gifts. She won't
accept anything while she is working even if she physically is no where near the customer service counter. You'll have to wait until after
18:00 to give her gifts if you won't be able to make it before she opens shop for the day.

EDA
When you first arrive in Oak Tree Town, Veronica explains that she hasn't finished preparing your assigned farm space. She requests
that you spend your first week with Eda, an experienced farmer who has lived in the area for a very long time. Every morning, Eda will
take you out to her farm space and show you how to sow and water crops, care for animals, and harvest the plants once they've
matured. At night, you'll sleep in her farm house. After your training week has completed, Veronica will show you to your farm, which
happens to be right next door to Eda's. Eda will also stop by and give you Hanako, the cow that you cared for while you were practicing
your farming skills while working on her farm.
Eda lives by herself in the Sunnyside Farm area, as her spouse passed away a long time ago and her son and his family lives in the
city. She really isn't alone though! Fellow farmer Fritz is a regular visitor, Angela stops by to check up on her health, and Veronica goes
over to socialize with her on Saturdays.
She and Veronica came up with the challenges for the public spaces that are owned by the Guild. When Eda's lease for her field
expires (the Spice field in normal mode, and the Tall Crop field in Seedling mode), remember to head to the Guild and ask Veronica for
the rights to use the field; Eda will generously give up her stake in the public field so that a new farmer can use it.
Since Eda is one of your farming rivals, she does have a series of Rivalry events that you can trigger. These events will give you some
back story about Eda and her family. You can only trigger her three rivalry events, Here to Help,Eda's Son, and Not Feeling Well,
before Winter 1 of your first year. After that, they will no longer be viewable.

GIORGIO
This high class, overly dramatic farmer has been at the botany game for much longer than you have. He has a well-established farm
called Rose Wood Farm just to the north of Oak Tree Town. The fame of Giorgio's flower growing skills have spread far, and he often
grazes the cover of popular farming publications. Giorgio has a fianc who travels all around the world and sends him exotic flower
seeds from the places she's been. You never get to see her though.
Giorgio spends most of his mornings tending to the flowers growing on his farm. On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, he
leaves his farm to eat at Raeger's Restaurant from 18:30 to 19:30, then wanders over to spend time with his friend Dr. Marian at his
clinic until 21:00. On Wednesdays and Sundays you may find him in the afternoon at the Trade Depot and then at Mistel's Antique
shop. Tuesdays are his casual days, where he ends up in a variety of random locations.
Your rival will have a series of rivalry events you may trigger as you increase your Reputation points with him.

Penne all'Arrabbiata = Flour + Milk + Tomato. This recipe is for sale at Rose Country as soon as you meet the requirements to unlock
Ennio at the Trade Depot, which requires you to ship at least 1 million G worth of goods and have unlocked Wheat Country. The
ingredients are fairly simple to collect, as you can grow Tomato starting in Summer of your first year.
Empty Can, Old Boot, Fish Bones, Fish Food, Shiny Coin, Weeds, Turnip Salad, Turnip Soup, Buttered Turnip, Milk Stew, Milk Rice,
Scrap Ore, Dried Poison Mushroom
In collaboration with Nintendo, a set of new crops have been added that you can grow on your farm. The Super Mario crops are
an uncommon seed that you can buy from the Wheat Country vendor at the Trade Depot. When the country visits the Trade
Depot, there is a 30% chance that Kenneth will have a mystery seed for sale when you talk to him. He only has one for sale at a
time and it will cost 1000 G. Since it is suppose to be a mystery, there's no way to know in advance which of the Super Mario
crop seeds you've bought. You can be growing more than one mystery seed at a time.
When grown, these crops will affect all crops within its designated area. For example, if you grow a Super Mario crop on your
main farm field, it will affect all the plants in the main area but not the ones in the western area.
The Super Mario seed will look like a tree seedling when planted in your field. If you water it once per day, it will take 20 days to
mature. If you water it twice per day, it will take 14 days to mature. You'll find out which crop the seed grows into after it matures.
There are three types of Super Mario crops: Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Super Star.
Super Mushroom
This fungus is very convenient! When you harvest the Super Mushroom, all of the plants you are growing in the designated field
area will instantly mature by two growth stages. The Super Mushroom will make all of the crops grow super fast!
The powers of the mushroom will even affect trees that you might be growing in the area. Lumber trees only have two growth
stages, so all of the lumber trees you are growing will be mature and ready to be chopped down for lumber. Fruit trees take three
growth stages, so any just-planted fruit tree seedlings will mature to stage two, and any fruit trees that happen to be in stage one
will jump to mature stage three.
This can also impact crops that regrow their yield such as tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, and the like. If you have a mature Super
Mushroom ready to be picked, try to harvest all of your crops that regrow their products before picking the mushroom. For
example, harvest your Pineapple before picking the fungus and once you do, all of your Pineapple will be regrown and ready for
its magical mushroom madness. If you harvest a plot of 9 crops, then you'll actually end up with 15 (6 + 9 = 15). This doesn't
affect lumber trees though, but it does affect fruit trees and will result in a tree yield of 11 (5 + 6 = 11).
The Super Mushroom does not make other mystery seeds grow super fast (drat!)
Fire Flower
Depending on what is around when you harvest the Fire Flower, two different things can take place. For crops that have wilted,
the Fire Flower will burn all of the dead plants so you don't have to cut them down with your sickle. This can be handy for the first
day of a season when you have to clear the dead crops from the previous season so you can plant new crops.
The Fire Flower does not burn crops that are not wilted. For healthy plants and trees, the flower will increase the Star Rank of
the plant's products by 30 points. You can then carry over the Star Rank to the next generation of crops by using the Seed
Maker to convert the leveled up crop into seeds for planting.
The flower will not burn down trees, since those plants never wilt. If a plant is at its maximum Star Rank already then the Fire
Flower won't add anything more to the plant's Star Rank.
Super Star
This crop won't turn you invincible so you can run through the fields knocking over your animals, but what it will do is increase
the amount of time a crop stays fresh before it drops to a standard status. Normally when you harvest a crop, and only crops,
they will be given a fresh status. This freshness allows you to earn a little bit more profit when you sell the crop to the Trade
Station vendors. After 3 days of being picked, a crop will lose its fresh status and just become a normal crop (e.g., a Fresh
Turnip becomes simply a Turnip).
Harvesting a Super Star before picking your crops will make all of your harvest crops retain their fresh status for 60 days instead
of 3 days. This will only affect crops that you harvest after you have picked a Super Star. For example, if you have a Tomato
plant that isn't producing any fruit, then picking the Super Star will do nothing for you at all; if the Tomato plant had ripe
Tomatoes on it, then activating the Super Star and then picking those Tomatoes will result in the extended freshness period.
With the Super Star crop, you just need to ensure that you actually have crops that you can harvest before you pick the star to
activate its abilities.
- GOLDEN CROPS
Along with your regular crops, you can grow special golden crops that sell for much more than the original version. To unlock the
golden variety you will need to sell a total of 500 of the regular version. For example, sell 500 Turnips to unlock the seeds for Golden
Turnips. You can sell the base crops to any vendor to have it count towards unlocking golden crops. These are seasonal crops, so you
can only buy the seeds during the season that you can grow them in, even if you've sold the required number of crops in other seasons.
Not everything you can grow comes in a golden variety. Tree fruit, grains, tea leaves, spices, flowers, and water paddy crops do not
have golden versions. Basically, the crops you can grow in the Tall Crop Field, the Root Crop Field, and the Leafy Crop Field will have
golden versions.
Golden crops are difficult to grow and have a chance of dying/wilting as the crop moves from growth state to growth stage. Some
golden crops are more sensitive to wilting than others; Golden Onion only has a 10% chance of wilting when it grows to a new stage,
whereas Golden Melon has a 70% chance. When dealing with golden crops, it is a good idea to save your game before going to bed. If
you awaken in the morning and discover too many of your golden crops have wilted, you can reload your save game to the night before
and try again.
To help ensure the crop's health, there are three things you can do: use the Special Fertilizer that can be crafted at the Fertilizer Maker
within your Seed Maker, use the Ferris Wheel greenhouse, or make the plant instantly mature by using the Super Mushroom mystery
crop.
Special Fertilizer will reduce the chance of the crop wilting as it grows by only 2%. It also requires Elli Leaves, which are for sale at the Ice
Country vendor at the Trade Depot. When I've used Special Fertilizer its affect didn't appear to carry over when converting the golden crop
back into seed. It isn't terribly useful, but it is better than nothing.
The better option is to use the Ferris Wheel. The blueprint is available starting in Fall of year 4 from Silk Country. The building requires 60
Lumber, 30 Glass Stone, 10 Amethyst, 10 Emerald, and 5 Pink Diamond. Growing golden crops within the Ferris Wheel is a great way to
handle the sensitivity issue, as golden plants will NOT wilt within the carnival ride. They also grow at twice the speed and do not require any
watering.
For golden crops that only have two growth stages (Turnip, Onion, Spinach, Carrot, and Radish) you can make them fully mature by picking
a Super Mushroom if you happen to grow one in your field. Kenneth from Wheat County will randomly sell you a Mystery Seed for 1000 G
when you talk to him. After you plant it you won't know what it will become until it matures. If you happen to grow a Super Mushroom, leave it
be while you plant short-growth golden crops that correspond with your current season. Once your golden seeds are in the soil, pick the
Super Mushroom to instantly turn the seeds into harvestable golden crops.
Besides selling for more money, golden crops can be used in cooking recipes to duplicate the number of cooked dishes you've crafted.
For example, cooking one Turnip will result in one Turnip Salad, but cooking one Golden Turnip will result in two Turnip Salads.
Golden crops will also give you more friendship if you give them to a person who likes the regular version. A love-quality +500 FP crop
will earn you +800 FP if you give a golden version, and a like-quality +300 FP crop will earn you +500 FP. This also works in reverse,
so if a villager does not like a crop, then giving a golden version will cause you to lose more FP. Note that there aren't any crops that
are a villager's special +1000 gift.

- GREENHOUSE
To grow crops out of their proper season, you can construct a Greenhouse on your farm. The Greenhouse can be set to grow crops
from a specific season even though the outside weather is a different season. To build a Greenhouse, you first need to purchase the
blueprint. The plan is for sale at the Wheat Country vendor for 60,000 G when you reach Spring of year 2 or later. To construct a
Greenhouse, combine 15 Lumber, 10 Rocks, 15 Soft Soil, 8 White Cloth, and 5 Silver. You can build more than one Greenhouse, but
you have to remember to place it on your farm to use it.
Controlling the active season within the Greenhouse is done by placing a seasonal sun stone in the sun box within the house. The
stones can be bought from the Sakura Country vendor for 2000 G each after you own the blueprint for the Greenhouse.
To utilize the Greenhouse, set a seasonal sun in the sun box. The season set by the sun stone will remain until you swap the stone with
another stone, but swapping stones will destroy the crops that are currently associated with that specific season. For example, if you
have a Spring Sun in the box and are growing Turnips and Flax, the Turnips will die if you switch to a Summer Sun but the Flax will
remain because it can survive in Summer.
Inside a Geenhouse you can grow any soil-based crop or bush/tree; Rice, Lotus Root, and Wasabi cannot grow within a Greenhouse.
There are 15 soil plots to grow with, and you can use Fertilizer to increase the crops' Star Rank while growing. The building also has a
watering well to refill your watering can.
One disadvantage to the greenhouse is that crops grow slower than if they were growing outside. When outside you can water crops
twice per day to speed up the crop maturity rate, but within the Greehouse you can only water once per day.
You can move a Greenhouse around on your farm by using the Farm Edit menu, but if you put the building back into your object
storage then all of the crops you were growing within it will be destroyed.
The maximum number of Greeenhouses you can have in each farm area is four, for a maximum total of eight.
Starting in Fall of year 4, you can build an enhanced Greenhouse containing six mini greenhouse spaces for crops! The Ferris Wheel
blueprint can be purchased from the Silk Country vendor for 170,000 G if you have built a Greenhouse. To build the colorful attraction,
combine 60 Lumber, 30 Glass Stone, 10 Amethyst, 10 Emerald, and 5 Pink Diamonds.
This object is incredibly nice to use. There are 6 gondolas that contain 4 soil plots within them (for a total of 24 spaces), and you can set
a specific sun in each of the gondolas. With the Ferris Wheel:
the Star Rank of the crops will naturally increase at 2 Star Points per day.
This upgraded Greenhouse is great for growing golden crops, as they grow faster then normal, their Star Rank increases
quickly, and they won't wilt when they move from growth stage to growth stage. If you plan to grow a lot of goldies, it may be less
frustrating to simply wait until you've constructed the Ferris Wheel instead of growing them in the outdoor fields.
You may also grow trees inside of the gondolas.
