Presentation Abstract of Mr John King

Increased awareness in colored diamonds has grown over the years and the reasons behind this increase are
well known.

Has increased awareness resulted in changes in what is seen in the trade or at GIA?

This talk will

look at the trends in colored diamonds at GIA Laboratory in recent years: some longstanding trends continue and
new ones are noted as well. This presentation will highlight some of the historic diamonds, diamonds at auction
and unusual colors seen by GIA as well as treated and synthetic diamonds.

Data on diamonds graded at GIA

since 2005 will be used to discuss any shifts in the types or strengths of colors seen at GIA.
