Analysis Report
Global environmental Changes
This survey was conducted with the view of finding the views of children about global
environmental changes, the environment itself, environment beneficial habits, etc.
Below are some of the the key findings of this report.

Global Environmental Changes:

Questions for InquiryFactual
1. What is the environment?
2. What is happening to the environment?
3. What are the natural aspects of the environment?
Conceptual
1. How do we destroy the environment?
2. Why is it important to care about the environment?

Debatable
1. Is man the greatest threat to the environment?
AnswersFactual
1. It's everything that makes up our surroundings and affects
our ability to live on the Earth.
2. Our environment is in need of a lot of work. The ozone
layer is quickly rotting away; the waters are polluted; and the rain
forest is rapidly shrinking in size due to the ignorance of land
developers.
3. The natural environment includes all the living and nonliving
organisms living in any region. They are all natural and not
manmade. These include animals, plants, materials, etc.
Conceptual
1. We destroy the environment through various processes such
as deforestation, construction, vehicle exhausts, etc.
2. Our environment is very important as it benefits us is many
ways such as.
Many plants are used in medicines
We can only be healthy if we are in a clean environment.
We need materials that come from the environment for
shelter and other constructions.
We need animals and plants for food.
We need clean water to drink.

We can not breathe polluted air so we need clean air which

provided by pants.
Debatable
1. Yes, as no other organism could intentionally harm the
environment so extensively.

Article on Global Environmental Changes:

Climate Change Affects
Biodiversity
By Anup Shah

The link between climate change and

biodiversity has long been established.
Although throughout Earths history the climate has always changed with
ecosystems and species coming and going, rapid climate change affects ecosystems
and species ability to adapt and so biodiversity loss increases. This is a modern issue
that we are facing currently.
From a human perspective, the rapid climate change and accelerating biodiversity
loss risks human security (e.g. a major change in the food chain upon which we
depend, water sources may change, recede or disappear, medicines and other
resources we rely on may be harder to obtain as the plants and fauna they are
derived from may reduce or disappear, etc.).
The Arctic, Antarctic and high latitudes have had the highest rates of warming, and
this trend is projected to continue. In the Arctic, it is not just a reduction in the extent
10

of sea ice, but its thickness and age. Less ice means less reflective surface meaning
more rapid melting.

Summary:
Climate change and biodiversity are interlinked. Throughout history,
climate has been changing with the various ecosystems and species
coming and going. Nowadays, rapid climate change is not allowing
ecosystems and species to adapt. This results in loss of biodiversity.
An example of this is the Arctic. It has the highest rate of warming
and a large extent of ice is being melted rapidly.

Conclusion:
We should not harm the environment as it is important for our well- being. We have to
sustain the environment by following some important tips and practices
We should save energy by turning off all electric appliances when we are not
using

11

them.
We can try to carpool or use public transport to save resources.
We should follow the 3Rs- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
We should plant as many saplings as posswible.
