XingYiQuan
Yi Quan, Xing Yi Quan, Tai Ji Quan and Ba Gua Zhang make up the main internal styles of Chinese martial
arts. The Xing Yi Quan has about a thousand years of history and was founded by General Yue Fei.

Xing Yi Quan means "use the form to reach the mind and using the mind to master the form." It is a very
peculiar Gong Fu style. Previously, the Shaolin Temple, was treated as a very valuable secret. Only the abbot
could practice it, passing on their knowledge only to his successor. Only about two centuries ago it became
known outside the Shaolin temple.
The greatest exponents of the style were Li Luo Neng and Guo Yun Shen, leaving their mark on the history of
the martial art of China. Guo Shen Yun was famous for his hit called Ban Bu Beng Quan.
The practice of Xing Yi Quan involves five hits (5 handles): Pi, Beng, Zhuan, Pao, Heng, known as Wu Xing
Quan, whose highest level is appointed Wu Xing Lian Huan Quan Zu He. The potency of this coup is very large,
its unlimited development, especially the movement called Gui Che Duan. There is a phrase known in China
that says. "Who achieve this level of development can conquer half the world"
There are twelve types of animals in this style: horse, lion, rooster, snake, eagle, gibbon, heron, dragon, bear,
tiger, monkey, hawk whose essence is in force and not in imitation of their movements. The horse's strength is
in gallop, lion in the howling, cock on the floor, the snake in the suppleness, the eagle on the look, the gibbon in
cleverness, the heron in the land, dragon flexibility, bear in posture of firmness in foot tiger in sitting monkey
agility claw and the hawk in violence using the claw.
As the Xing Yi was created
Yue Fei was born in Henan province, it is located where the Shaolin Temple. It was raining heavily that day
and, because of the large volume of water, there was a real disaster in the region: a flood flooded his home and
many other neighborhood. To save him, his parents put him in a wooden barrel and with it, were floating
downstream. At that very moment, Zhou Tong went and luckily spotted them. He ran to save them, but the

father of Yue Fei had died by drowning. Having managed to save in time the boy and his mother took Yue Fei
as the son and disciple.

Zhou Tong is known as the greatest Grand Master of all time in China's martial arts history and had many
students that have spread throughout the country to teach the martial art and all the culture that surrounds
their knowledge, like calligraphy , painting, poetry, chess ...
Among so many students, five of them stood out, not only for being the best fighters of his time, but because
they have exercised great influence on culture and political history of China. Your names are:
1 Lu Yi Zhun
2- Shi Wen Gong
3- Lin Chong
4- Wu Song
5 Yue Fei
The time when Yue Fei became a disciple of Zhou Tong was later the other four students. The Grand Master
taught Yue Fei Xi Sui Fa (Gong Fu Bodhidharma, known in China as Tamo) Wu Qin Xi (Gong Fu Hua To, the
father of Chinese medicine), as well as poetry, painting and music ( Xi Sui Yi Jin Tchin and Wu Qin Xi).

Gong Fu Yue Fei grew and developed very fast because he is very intelligent and have dedicated all his time to
training. When the boy reached 16, his father and teacher Zhou Tong felt very happy with the results that the
son and disciple was reached and, therefore, a joke, decided to bet a horse race with Yue Fei. At the end of the
game, the master returned home very tired and sweaty and due to a strong wind, just sick. For being too old,
Zhou Tong did not support the disease and died.
After the death of his father and teacher, Yue Fei continued his training and reached the true understanding of
Tamo techniques, Hua To and Lance. He found that when used the spear, also trained his fists and, when
trained fists consequently trained skill in spear.

Yue Fei was the first to say that the weapons were the extension of the arms. This is a theory that has
contributed greatly to the global development of martial arts. At 20, Yue Fei became general of the emperor. In
his first battle he used 500 soldiers to win 80,000 enemy soldiers.
In addition to his skills as a warrior and strategist, Yue Fei is also the author of the famous poem "Man Jiang
Hong" which is studied today by the Chinese, from childhood to university.
Yue Fei died after 39 years in the hands of a traitor in the city of Zhe Jiang. Now his grave is in Zhe Jiang, Xi
Hu in the park, and every day many people visit it to deposit incense and offerings.
