5.0 Conclusion
Our proposal meets the requirement of replacing all the existing old doors, windows and
finishes for the house renovation. Besides that, our proposal also recommended some other
suitable design for the house to provide the best surrounding to the house. The details of our
proposed renovation design are summarized at the top and the detailed technical information
is included in the proposal above.
Our renovation design focus on achieve good quality performance in indoor air
quality, acoustics, visual and thermal comfort. These will involve the use of low volatile
organic compound materials. For example, most of the paint we use supply by Nippon Paint
have low volatile organic compound materials in it. Besides that, most of our materials use in
renovation are environmentally friendly. We even included an unique design of water feature
in the landscape to make the surrounding refreshing and improve the environment quality.
18
We will start organized our renovation as soon as you accept our proposal and we will
done it within the time given. The efficiency of our company renovation is very high. You can
check the reviews given by our client through our online website. Most of them are good
reviews because we provide the best renovation service in Malaysia.
Therefore, we are hoping and looking forward to work with you. Thank you for your
cooperation.

3) The use of environmental friendly timber
All of the wood-based products we used in renovation are all certified and in
compliance with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Malaysian Timber
Certification Council (MTCC). For example, our flooring is non-toxic,
environmentally-friendly and made from sustainably harvested, recycled or
reclaimed sources.
Figure 6.1.4
Figure 6.1.5
20
Figure 6.1.6
Besides using recycled materials, our company uses building materials and products that are
mostly extract and manufactured within Malaysia. This eventually help in supporting the use
of indigenous resources and at the same time reduce the environmental impacts resulting
from the transportation.
During renovation, client should provide some area to be used as storage for collection of
non-hazardous materials for recycling. We will develop and implement a construction waste
management plan that, as a minimum identifies the materials to be diverted from disposal.
Our company also uses environmentally- friendly refrigerants and clean agents exceeding
Malaysias commitment to the Montreal & Kyoto protocols. The refrigerants and clean agents
we use are zero Ozone Depleting Potential products. This will help in prevent global
warming.
21
22
For the purpose of harvesting natural lighting, we used good-quality insulating windows,
placed windows in the right places and high quality sealing are completed as this can
allow daylight to reduce lighting use while providing sufficient ventilation.
We ensured proper testing, commissioning and regular maintenance for our client. Some
preparatory work was made in advance to ensure energy system are in good condition. In
addition, regular maintenance was taken as a long-term work to maintain the energy
efficiency.
We suggest :
Installation of photovoltaic panel on the roof should be done as alternative energy source
for electricity. Photovoltaics (PV) is a method of generating electrical power by
converting sunlight into direct current electricity using semiconducting materials that
exhibit the photovoltaic effect (V. Ryan, 2009).
23
Figure 6.3.1
Installation of solar water heating system that includes storage tanks and solar collectors.
We suggest the installation of Passive Solar Water Heating System as it is less expensive,
more reliable and it can last longer.
Figure 6.3.2
Design of large roof overhang should be applied. Adequate roof overhangs help shade
windows in hot weather and maintain the temperature indoor (Martin Holladay, 2014).
Figure 6.3.3
24
ensure all the building are relevant and upgrade properly to remain relevant
To achieve a green building ,we should focus on increase the efficiency of resource use
,which is materials ,water and energy thats mean construct building can save water energy,
also provide a healthy indoor environment situations ,a connectivity of public transport ,
recycling and greenery for their project .There are six criteria for the Green Building Index
:Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environment Quality, Sustainable Site Planning&
Management ,Materials and Resources ,Water Efficiency and Innovation.
Water efficiency is very important to involve in the larger green building task. Many local
green building programs fail to achieve water efficiency, not only focus on others
environmental issues, there is a need to bring water efficient practices, designs, and products
to the attention of the participant of this program .
To achieve green building with fufill requirement of water efficiency, there is a few methods
to suggest to help with:
1
Dual flush low capacity flushing cisterns of 4.5 litres or less water for full flush and not
more than 3 litres for a half flush should be used.
Figure 6.5.1
2
Water heat recycling by using heat exchanger to reuse heat from drain waterfrom
various activities.
