Introduction

lassroom response system (CRS) is an innovation in communication

technology capable of transforming student engagement, learning and
teaching in large classes by facilitating classroom management tasks.
CRS first came to be introduced in Stanford University, USA in the year 1966 which was
expensive and difficult to use. In 1985, a much less expensive prototype was tested and
well received by the students and teachers at Christopher Newport University, USA.
Education at all levels saw a paradigm shift when extensive use of CRS began in 2003.
Today, numerous secondary schools, colleges, universities and especially B-Schools use
this tool worldwide. And 'Pulse', is our sincere and passionate attempt in making India see
the same paradigm shift in education that the world has seen.

How does it work?

Technically, CRS is a set of hardware and software that works in a simple manner where:
A teacher poses a question to his or her students via an overhead or computer
projector.
Each student submits an answer to the question using a handheld transmitter
(responder) that beams a radio-frequency signal to a receiver attached to the
teacher's computer.
