Pharmaceutical

Fingerprint System

Pharmaceutical Fingerprint System (PFPS) is a tablet

specific android app designed to meet the needs of
chain pharmacies. PFPS is objected towards the
identification and analysis of patient records before
consulting their pharmacist via fingerprint recognition
systems. In a nutshell, PFPS works first by the
pharmaceutical care provider scanning the patients
fingerprint before consultation which will reveal
a patient profile consisting of their identity, past medical
history, current medications and primary doctor contacts
The pharmacist will be able to edit, update, or add
comments to the patients profile after assessing
the patient. This will also be updated to the PFPS main
database for deployment in other branches upon
the scanning the patients fingerprint.

Consumer Pain
Points

There are four main consumer pain points that have

been recognized amongst professionals in retail
pharmacies.
1. With the growing number of privately owned
pharmacies focusing more on reliable customers,
chain pharmacies are experiencing a scarceness of
loyalty/trust between the pharmacist and
the patient.
2. Retail pharmacists are not adequately informed on
the amount of drugs that need to be requested to
different branches periodically for patients with
chronic disease.
3. Sufficient data is not available to estimate
the local demand for medications in order to
maximize profit and minimize expenses
4. It is challenging for the pharmacist to evaluate the
patient and make recommendations without
knowledge of their current and
past medical history

OUR UNIQUE solution

1. Pharmacist-Patient loyalty is established

2. Medication demand and supply can be better assessed
for the profit maximization
3. Previously unavailable drugs in one branch can be
ordered accurately for that branch
4. Purchase data results can be collected, analyzed,
plotted into info graphs and made available for drug
manufacturers and stores.
5. In addition to our new contributions, our application
will also be able to fulfil other tasks such as creating an
interface in which different drugs are classified and
assigned a barcode for pricing , storing account
information from different collaborating companies
involved in the production, manufacture, distribution of
drugs, and the collection of sales invoices, drug sales,
purchases, profits and other management data for
future records

The Opportunity
(Market size/ Target customers)?
Our Market size is all chain pharmacies, but our start-up strategy is to first target local chain pharmacies within Jordan region. Afterwards,
we hope to expand our company to span MENA region and eventually achieve international recognition .

Operations Model

We will offer our product to a variety of multi

branched pharmacies as a one time package that
includes the application, monthly maintenance, and
database updates. Our package price will begin around
5,000 dollars not including hardware costs. The
application will be placed after the doors of the
pharmacy where the customer will be asked to place
his fingerprint if he is an existing user or to register for
more effective care from the pharmacist. The patients
information will be transferred to the pharmacist and
he will greet the customer ( if already existing) by
name and inquire about his medical needs. Of course,
the pharmacist will already have information on the
patients existing medications, medical history, and
other information. If the patient has a chronic
condition the pharmacist will be able to have his
recurrent medication prepared for the next refill
pickup. In the case that the patient is a first time user,
the pharmacist would register the patient on consent.

Quality control

Quality control and maintenance will play an important

role for the proper operation of this application. Before
launch of this application, we will experiment with this
application on 100 randomized fingerprints for proper
fingerprint recognition. After other hardware
specifications are also verified we should be prepared
for implementation into chain pharmacies. Customers
will be offered a 30 day guarantee on our product. In
the case of product malfunctioning we will attempt to
repair the product and if it is beyond repair than we will
offer a full refund. Malfunctioning data will be stored
and updated to the application for future customers.
Also monthly application maintenance will be run for
proper functioning and addition of updates to the
application. A One year warrantee will be offered with
the application in which afterward the customer will be
charged a fee to maintain the warrantee services.

Privacy

Privacy is of utmost importance for our patients. We

have devised strict procedures for proper handling of
sensitive information. Electronic security systems
will be implemented to prevent unauthorized access
of patient databases. Consent forms will also be
issued requiring the patients signature before being
enrolled in any PFPS software. It is our responsibility
to protect our patients confidentiality. All information
will only be taken and stored upon the consent of the
patient. Consent will be done by the electronic
signature of the patient to a consent form produced
from a legal consult. No information, under any
circumstances will be taken without knowledge of
the patient including their fingerprints
