Welcome
We are eagerly looking forward to spending the school year with your child, fostering positive
educational experiences. We believe that all children can learn and that the success of learning
depends upon strong cooperation among teachers, students, and parents. We ask that you
carefully read the following information and policies, as they are crucial to the achievement of
each student on the team.

Attendance

Contacting Us

Attendance and tardiness will be strictly monitored

as highlighted in the Broward County Student Public
Schools Code of Student Conduct. Parents must call
in for an absence to be excused. Students are
responsible for obtaining any work missed due to an
absence. Assignments missed are due within two
days of returning from an absence. Work assigned
prior to an absence is due the day the student
returns. (NOTE: A student is allotted two make-up
days for each day absent, not including the day of
return.)

Grading

Each student and parent has access to all grades

through Pinnacle. Please make an effort to keep
informed of your childs progress throughout each
marking period by asking him or her to share the
status of their grades with you. You can also program
Pinnacle to alert you via email when your childs
grade changes. Directions on accessing Pinnacle can
be found through the school website located at
http://coralspringsmiddle.browardschools.com. Any
assignment that is not turned in on time may result
in 50% credit.
