2016-2017 school year and working with all of you. If we all apply 100% effort, we will have a successful and rewarding year.
EXPECTATIONS: Simple rules help the
classroom run smoothly so that everyone has an equal opportunity to learn. Most of my rules are common sense and should only need to be reviewed once. Respect everyones property, rights, and opinions. Bring all of your materials to school everyday. Come into the classroom and begin working on your warm-up immediately. No food or drinks in class. Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
CONSEQUENCES: Unfortunately some
students may try to disrupt the class and these students will have one or more of the following consequences. Timeout Removal from class Lunch detention Phone call home Parent/Teacher/Student Conference I.S.S./O.S.S.
MATERIALS: Starting off on the right foot is
important. Students must have their materials in class Wednesday September 7th (A day) or Thursday September 8th (B Day). Materials must be in class EVERYDAY!! 5 subject spiral notebook to be used for science only A stash of loose leaf paper Pen and sharpened pencil Scotch tape Colored pencils HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned throughout the week, as well as reports and projects throughout the year.
TUTORING: Tutoring is offered by
appointment only before school. MAKE UP WORK: If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to ask for any missing assignments or notes from another student or me. If labs are missed, students cannot make up the labs, but they will not be penalized. LATE WORK: It is important for all work to be turned in on time. If you mistakenly forget to turn an assignment in, late work can be placed in the late bin in the back of the room. The highest grade that will be given on a late assignment is a 70%. TEST RETAKES: If at any time a student has a failing grade on an exam, they have the chance to make up the test for a higher grade Test makeups can only be completed before school, and the highest grade they can receive is a 79%. FAMILY REPSONSIBILITIES: These are some things you can do to ensure your childs success this year. Ask your child about progress reports. Check Power Schools frequently Make sure your child gets to school everyday!!
